I have to admit this now. I was previously a Harry Potter hater. You know, the people who said "Ew, Harry Potter is so gay!". I'm not proud of it and to repent I have taken every ooportunity I had to defend the books and movies. I fought against my family and friends numerous times. I find myself like Snape in a few respects. I like him have done many things that to this day I'm paying for. I also find solitude a great deal more important at times than socialistic behavior. Finally I find that when I'm conversing with somone less intelligent than me I get a very frustrated. However, unlike Snape I will not lash out so cruelly. I think it's important I compare myself to him because he is the reason I love HP with all my heart. When I first saw Alan Rickman portraying him on screen I felt so intrigued. I spent the night looking up Snape in all ways possible. He was just such and interesting and strangely attractive character. From then on I grew to love all of the characters and stories. heart

I too Hate harry potter at first. My parents bought the first movie and where watching it and i was all like yuck "why did you buy that movie." Then one day out of the blue i decieded to buy the first book and ever since then i have been hooked. Tom Riddle is my fav. Character when i saw Christan Coulson protray him i automatically fell in love with that character. Harry potter is acutally what get me to read more. xd

Fawkes_vox I too Hate harry potter at first. My parents bought the first movie and where watching it and i was all like yuck "why did you buy that movie." (hi i'm new)
um, i remember that when harry potter first came out, everyone was getting into it except for me. i was all like, "oh, i probably won't like it" then i read it and i loved it! recently, i have reread the books and watched the movies multiple times and i am now officially OBSESSED! heart heart heart

the frst thing that got me interested in harry potter was boredem. i had nothing to read one day so i read the first book. i had already seen the movie and i was suprised at how much i liked the book. my favorite character is severus snape. i am a villian fanatic so i immediatly liked malfoy and his dad.

Honestly I had never heard of Harry Poter before the first movie. So, I guess the first movie turned me to Harry Potter. I know it's sad.

when i first heard of Harry Potter i admit that i thought it was kinda stupid and a totally dumb idea,but when my mom bought me the set of the first three books and i started reading it,i thought it was pretty cool.then the first movie came out and i became hooked.^^

Yeh I was too. Funny..my brother made me watch the 1st movie and I was totally portesting and when I came out I was like 'OMG!! I heart Harry Potter!!' and started buyimg all the books and stuff. I was and still am Obsessed!!

My mother bought me the first two books and I read the first chapter and I is Cr*p but then I went on a bus trip and I ended up reading it and falling in love with the series

All my friends were really into the books about 6 years ago, but I didn't see why.
"Why would I want to read about some guy with such a silly name?"
My best friend finally convinced me to read the first book... and I was hooked. biggrin I read all the books multiple times, and when the movies came out, I was excited, but still prefered Rowling to Columbus or (Merlin help us) Cuaron.
Now I'm probably the most obsessive of all of my old friends combined.
