This role-play was started through AIM between lysia and myself. This roleplay features two sisters. AIM Role-Play Log. The long road almost seemed unfamilair as Florian tried desperately to remember the right paths to find her family. It had been almost two years since she had last taken look of her Mother and frolicked with her sister in the fields. The young mare sighed deeply as she wandered throughout the woodlands. She felt as though she was going in circles, but nonetheless she continued. Sooner or later she was bound to bump into someone or get...more lost. She dipped her head down a bit as she looked here and there in hopes of seeing someone prancing about, but the forest was still. "This is very odd," the young mare said. "What is?" the little hummingbird perched on her back asked. "I could've sworn this was the right way," Florian answered. Her voice sounded upset and worried. "Maybe I forgot to take a path," Florian stopped and looked about. "Turn around then?" Pan asked, looking to her. Florian glanced over her shoulder. Every direction looked the same and she was afraid of getting more lost in this forest. "No. We'll keep going straight," she said and continued ahead in hopes of seeing someone familair.
Things had gone from bright and gay to a more subdued and watchful, quiet lifestyle for the herd in the past few months. The end of winter had brought with it a terrible misshap to herself and her mother. She'd goten a bit of her bravory built back up and was once more wandering off from her parents, but she always made it a point to be home by dark. The sun broke through the budding trees and shone off her white pelt as she walked off on yet another one of her fairy tale chases. She was planning on finding her good friend Roman to drag him off this time to makers knew where. She guessed she'd just work that out when she found Roman.
"Pan. Take flight. I need your eyes and your speed to find the ones I am searching for," Florian softly requested. The hummingbird nodded his head, opening up his talons and lifted himsef from the backside of the mare. Florian watched as he quickly flew in between the branches, higher, and higher with a quick pace. "Don't get lost," Florian called out as he flew off. "Now to find my sister," Florian smiled as she looked ahead. It had been some time since Florian had played throughout the forests that she grew in. She remembered the first time that she had escaped from her parents with Bri at her side. They had ventured out in search of silly pinecones and having some sort of a wild and crazy adventure. "Bri!" Florian called out. "Bri! Mother!" Florian called. "Anyone," she sighed softly as she tried to keep a hopeful smile.
Stopping she thought she'd heard some one shout her name. Her ear flicked in the direction as she waited to see if she'd hear it agin. here.. she definately heard it that time.. It was a little ways off and to the left of where she'd been headed. Turning, she walked slowly towards the sound. Her mane hung over her scared shoulder. the only scar she couldn't hide was the one in which she'd gotten on her rump from a cougar the year before. She stopped yet again to listen, accidently placing her foot down on a twig and snapping it which gave away her position. She hadn't ment to be stalking, it'd just become a habit of late, a precaution to keep from drawing unfriendly eyes.
Florian's ears quickly prickled forwards as she sound of a twig snapping behind her. She could feel a shiver tingle down the back of her spine and quietly cursed under her breath for shouting out for her mother and sister. Such a loud voice was surely going to give her position away to predators that lurked in the shadows. She gulped as she glanced over her shoulder. She squinted her eyes as she could faintly see something in the near distance, but she was unsure of what or whom it was. The young mare turned around and began to walk to the being. "H-hello?" she called out gently, stretching out her neck with her nostrils flaring. That scent. It was familair...but it was also so odd. "Could you help me?" she asked, hoping that the stranger was a friend and not a foe. "I"m lost. I'm looking for..." she paused, gasping quietly as she pulled her head back. "BRI!" Florian called out, staring at her sister.
Flo?" She blinked a few times as she saw her sister, tilting her head off to the side some. "When did you get home?" She couldn't help but to gigle in that delicate way she had. Trotting forward, she closed the gap between herself and her sister, nosing her hair some before Giving her an affectionate greeting.
"H-home...?" the young mare cocked her head to the side as her eyebrows furrowed. "Oh, yes! Well. I've been searching for sometime now and just got into these woods a couple hours ago. I was hoping to come across someone sooner or later," she smiled brightly. Florian flicked her smooth tail a couple times as she gently gave her sister a family nuzzle. "I've missed you so much, Bri. It's been too long," she whispered. "How's Mother and everyone?" she asked, pulling her head back. "Are they around here somewhere?" she asked, quickly looking around getting quite anxious to see everyone again. "And what are you doing out where by yourself? I don't remember you being the spontaneous one in the family," she smiled as she looked back to her sister.
"Yes, well I've grown some since we last spoke." She offered a small smile. "Everyone's reletively fine... be lucky you weren't here a few monthst ago..." SHe gave a small sigh and turned her head to look at the edge of where their lands stopped and the rest of the unclaimed lands began. "We should go find mother, she'll want to see you.. She's most likely keeping vigil on the east side." She turned with a shake of her mane and looked back waiting for her sister to follow her onto the herd lands the rest of the way.
Florian's lips parted as she looked at Bri with a look of worry. "What happened?" she asked, feeling her stomach turn of how her sister looked to the horizon and the way her voice sounded. "Surely nothing life threatening happened. You must tell me before we go see Mother," she said as she stepped out in front of Bri. "And besides. We can't go anywhere without Pan. He's probably more lost than I thought I was," she laughed softly. "Come. He flew off in this direction," she nodded her head for Bri to follow her as she walked off to the side. "Pan! Pan!" Florian yelled out. "What's wrong with the east part of these woods? I don't remember anything being of evil when we were little," Florian asked as she glanced back at Bri.
She shook her mane out once more and gave a small sigh before nodding. "The east side leads to the open common grounds.." She gave a small pause before stepping before her sister and tossing her mane to the opposite side. Her shoulder was a mared scar that looked like something had most literally taken a chunk out of her. it'd healed up mostly but the fur that was now starting to grow back was nothing more than white fuzz, shorter than the rest of her fur. "A kalona came at the end of winter..." She shook her mane back into place to hide the scar once more. It was her reminder of the day, a mar on her delicate features. Sure she wasn't so vain as to prize her beauty above her life. but that one scar gave her a fear that ran deep.
"Impossible!" Florian quickly turned around, facing her sister. "Did you say a Kalona? Why would such a creature venture to these parts of the forest? We've done nothing to bother a Kalona. Or so, not that I know of. Why has this happened now? Is Mother okay? What about everyone else?" question after question flooded from her vocals as she looked to Bri. Florian could feel her legs shaking as she demanded answers. She felt scared through the event had already happened. But she also felt horrible for not being here when it did. She breathed deeply as she felt her heart beat quickly within her chest. "Im so sorry, Bri. I should've been here," she said quietly. "But I wasn't," the mare's ears lowered. "What kind of daughter am I?" she felt her eyes water, turning her head away from Bri as she looked to the forest feeling quite awful.
"It's not your fault. Mother was really glad you hadn't been, else the beat might have tried to pack off with you too." She shook her head some. None of us thought we'd be attacked either which is why it was such a blow.. we've always been so peaceful... but meykal.. he finally heard mother putting up the good fight and rushed in. We'd been on a morning walk and she was teaching me to track so I wouldn't run into another mountian lion again." She gave a sheepish look and shook her head again. "But still.. it was a real low blow..."

"Well at least the family is alright," Florian smiled softly as she looked at her sister. "But I'm still worried. I should've been here, Bri. I shouldn't have left and I apologize for doing so." Florian sighed deeply as she knew that there was little she could do now because she couldn't change the past. She hoped that her visit within the homelands was a blessing and only sunshine awaited the small herd. The smile on her lips blossomed as she looked at Bri. "I can't wait to see everyone again," she started as she looked around in hopes the herd wasn't that far off. "I've thought of you and brother. Speaking of which," she paused as she turned to Bri again. "How's he doing? What about Father?" she asked with excitement in her voice.

She gave a sheepish look to her sister. She hadn't been keeping much tabs on her brother or their father as of late. "Well... Near as I can tell.. Things are well.. I've been rather.... busy.." She grinned a knowing grin that stated she wasn't telling all she had to tell. Her tail gave a slight flick as she walked. "So... Have you met anyone???" it was an attempt to keep the conversation moving into another direction... she didn't want to linger for long on the attack, didn't want to remember any of it at all.. or the fear she got when new stallions approached her now.

"Oh Bri! The places I've been and the characters I've met are more than enough to fill plenty of books," she grimaced as she hurried along to follow her sister. "Who knew that such a world had such colorful wonders?" she simply questioned to herself outloud. Florian blinked and tossed her mane back as she trotted up to Bri's side. "There are a lot of strange ones as well," she said. "I've met a couple. But you want to know something? They might be odd but with each greeting I've learned something. Every soul in this world has an offer that can be taught. It's very interesting," she said. Florian blinked and shook her head. A quiet chuckle escaped from her vocals. "There I go again. I sometimes just talk on and on for hours speaking of what might seem to be nonsense. I apologize," she smiled to Bri. "What of you? Met anyone outside of the herd?" she asked with a blossoming smile.

"It's ok.. I don't mind listening." She chuckled softly. "Well... I met a stallion who didn't talk much.. he was... rather... peculiar.. I actually had a crush on him..." She blushed slightly. "He just didn't feel the same way so mother sent him packing so to speak..." She laughed lightly. "I did meet a rather nice mare.. She looked like father and myself... only she just had wings.. four of them! she said her mother was what they call an Angeni... Oh yeah! then there's Roman..." She chuckled lightly. "He's interesting.. very nice though I think you'd get along with him."

"Seems that there's been many guests within the herd. That's good to know and it'll be nice to see some new faces," Florian said. She smiled as she looked to Bri. "A crush, huh? So you've been getting shot with cupid's arrows? Can't say that I really have been. I've been much too busy to spend too much attention to males. Not many I've come across with in my journeys. Or at least not many that I've taken an attraction to," she said. Her eyebrows furrowed for a brief moment. She sighed deeply and tossed her mane back. "You spoke of a Roman before. Taken fancy to him?" Florian asked as she turned to Bri.

"You could say we're thick as thieves he and I." She chuckled a moment. "He's a really good friend though, Florian... nothing more. We just look for the type of soquili that mother told us were fables.. kelpi.. mer's flutters... You know the stories." He tail gave a light flick. "I met a soquili who acted like a feline... he was most peculiar.. and had such a fluffy boa.. it was so warm! but aside from that.. there really hasn't been much really going on within the herd.. just everything I've told you.. Poor Shilo.. he's been miserable that he wasn't here to help when the attack went down.. He got caught up doing something of some sort... You remember Him don't you?"

"You sure it's nothing more? You sure seem to talk of him as if there is an interest," Florian cocked an eyebrow as she looked to Bri. The young mare chuckled and shook her head as she tossed back her mane. "You two travel to take notice of the species that Mother has spoken of. And that doesn't at all sound like some fancy-nancy love-struken story?" she grimaced. Florian paused and shook her head as she turned away from Bri. "I apologize. It's not at all my place to speak," she said softly. Florian glanced to Bri quickly and then ahead. "Yes I do remember Shilo. He wasn't with the herd when the attack happened? Oh dear. Was anyone?" she asked. "What's he up to?" she asked with a smile.

She couldn't help but to laugh softly. "Yes well.. you may think it seems like a love-struck moon eyes experience but it's not I assure you. He's just nice and a good friend. I think he follows me around to make sure I don't get into any trouble." Shrugging she thought. "Well.. Shilo wasn't there.. he's wandered off to scout around, get a better look of the area ya know? He is still so new to the area after all... As for the others.. it was pretty early in the morning so I assume they were all still asleep... We'd made it to the edge of the herd land after all.." She stopped and waited for her sister to catch up to her before nudging her neck lightly with her nose.

Florian laughed softly as the smile blossomed on her lips. "You getting into trouble? Now that's something I'd like to see. If I am mistaken, I don't remember you being the rambunctious type when were foals. Unless you've changed I doubt that you're still such a type," she looked to Bri. She breathed deeply as she blinked away from her sister and looked ahead. "I can understand these lands still being foreign," she spoke softly. "I could once travel through these woods and still make my way home. But now every direction looks the same and the task isn't that simple anymore," her eyebrows furrowed. "But like I've said it's great and good to see that everyone is well. Perhaps we shouldn't talk about that day, Bri. I can tell it still hurts speaking of such an event," Florian stepped up beside her sister. "Tell me," she paused. "Has anyone new joined the herd?" she asked with a sweet smile.

She thought for a moment. " No.. the herd's still quite small... I some times wish we'd get some new members.. You know, new people to talk to and learn more about..." She hesitated for a moment. "But then... Maybe if we were a bigger herd we'd be more safe..." She offered a smile before continuing on her way back towards the herd's main gathering grounds. "You'll get better at finding your way around again.. I'm sure if I'd spent more time away I'd get lost too.. I just wander off far enough to get back before night falls..."

Florian laughed softly with a warm-hearted smile as she looked to her sister. "Oh Bri," she sighed with a playful roll of her eyes and shake of her head. "Always smart and sensible. Where's your sense of adventure if you're always going in before nightfall?" she smiled. The young mare walked up to her sister's side. Her eyebrows furrowed as she glanced to Bri and then looked ahead of them. The attack must've been hard, she thought to herself. Especially on Bri, she turned to her sister and gently nudged her. She smiled reassuringly that everything would be better from here on out. "Maybe you could show me around?" she asked. "Just so that I can get more familair of these lands. Maybe we could visit the pond," she winked. "Remember the pond of when we were little? The pond that Mother didn't want us playing around," she said. "But we did nonetheless because we're such rebels," she said sarcastically. Laughter filled her vocals as she looked to Bri. "We were quite the rebellious fillies," she said brightly.

"I learned to swim you know! Roman taught me. Mother's still at odds with water.. she'll drink.. but she still won't go our and play with it.. I know why now though.. It's because she had an accident..." She paused for a moment. "But the pond's still there out side of the den... Before we go there let me show you around some..." She lead her sister off in a new direction. "You should remember this path...."

Florian's eyebrows furrowed as she looked to Bri. She wondered why their Mother never spoke to her of having an accident with a body of water. She knew that Mother was very cautious when it came to her foals playing around the pond but she never knew Sho's 'accident'. She blinked and tossed back her mane as Bri figured that the path they walked on should be familair to Florian. "Uh, sis...I've said that these lands are foreign to me. I'm sorry," she paused as she looked around. "But this path does not look familair. Unless it's the one where I announced a pinecone to be your trinket," she laughed softly at the memory. "If I'm correct than we shouldn't be that far from the pond," her tail swished in excitement.

She grinned widely and pushed through some brush that the path lead them to. "Yep! the pine cone! I remember loosing it.." She sighed some. She still didn't feel comfortable singing where others could hear her. Her voice has blossomed beautify since she took time off to sneak off alone and just sing for herself. "But enough of the pine cone. Have you learned to swim? I can teach you at the lake if you like!"
