Sin's shoulder ached, her leg was sore too and she was starting to feel rather wobbly on her high heels. She was with Rosc again though after a strange battle in the thick fog against a foe who rattled skulls around. Who's skulls she really didn't want to know. Still they had survived it and that was what mattered wasn't it? She held his hand, she told herself it was because getting lost in this fog was easy...but it was more then that. Rosc somehow gave her a sense of comfort in this frightening place, ChristmasTown had been different, laughable almost compared to this. Even her outfit as horrid as it was had been more functional. She shivered and pulled Rosc's coat closer around herself, at least she was slowly starting to dry off.
She was still worried though because she needed to find Alcyone and Viveca, what if they were really hurt? She felt tense and awful, she was supposed to be at Alcie's back there for her. Damn this fog, if only there was sunshine, if only she and Rosc were strolling along a beach under different circumstances.
She lifted her free hand and fingered the pendant around her neck thinking of Alcie's matching one. Together they had survived the battle of the bands, then ChristmasTown, and the boat...but now...they couldn't face anything together if Vivi and Alcie were injured, thrown against the rocks, drowning, or worse. She looked around and called out again though not as loud as she wished because it was obvious this place was dangerous and she didn't want to attract any unwanted attention.
"ALCIE! VIVECA!" She sighed as the sound seemed to vanish into the fog and looked at Rosc. "I'm worried...Professor Winters ship was large...they could still be at sea...or..." She bit her lip and frowned, she didn't want to say worse out loud.

Silence. It was like a thick blanket and yet only slightly obtrusive. At least in Rosc's mind. The battle with the hooded figure had been a stern wake-up call, even after the fight with the unknown figure on the school's grounds. At least that guy had been just messing with them. This one... He'd wanted to kill them, to use their skulls for... for whatever his twisted mind came up with. Even now, after it was all over, he still shuddered. what had the teachers been thinking? What had the headmistress been thinking, sending them into this? They weren't trained for these kinds of fights. He was pretty sure everyone on this trip was a first-year. Sure, Sin and he had previous combat training from parents (or parental figures), he was sure there were some other students who had the same, but even with that they would have stood no chance against the opponent if they hadn't been fighting in such a large group.
He glanced over to Sin as her hand trembled in his. She was clutching at his coat, and though it was probably ruined from the water damage, he still thought it looked good. Seeing her in it made him feel... possessive, perhaps. He moved closer to her slightly, pressing his arm against hers.
She called out to her friends, then turned to him. He wished he really was the seer that she had thought he was at first, that he could really give her an answer on if her friends were on the island or not. "The administration wouldn't really let anything happen to us," he hoped, "If they aren't here, they're probably back at school, in the nurse's office."

"I doubt this trip has turned out the way the administration planned, where are all the professors? No...and Carry...." She shuddered as she remembered the elegant pride demon from her party. One of their own had been...captured? What if that reaper was using her skull this second, adding it to his sick collection? She shivered again this time it had nothing to do with the cold. Reapers USED demons, mother had always said so and now here she was on an island that seemed to be reaper domain. A demon had already been taken, for what? The possibility of answers was terrifying, she wanted to find some way to rescue Carry, but right now she couldn't even find Alcyone or Viveca two close demon friends.
She frowned and chewed on her lower lip as she felt tears start to sting her eyes. Do not cry she told herself, though the thought was in a combination of both her parents voices. She was their child, she was strong, she had to get through this. She lowered her voice a bit more and looked at Rosc. "I'm...afraid..." then she added on quickly "for Alcie and Vivi." Because it was still hard to admit her true feelings to him, and even to herself.

Rosc dropped her hand and slipped his arm around her waist, trying to give her some sort of comfort, offering a shoulder to lean on, so to speak. "I know," he replied. He wanted to make her feel better. But he couldn't say that he was afraid too, he needed to be the strong one right now. If she knew he was unsettled by this whole thing, it would just make her more worried, something they didn't need right now.
"I won't let anything happen to you, Sin." His words were soft, his face showing his concern. At least, he would try. There was nothing he could do if they were separated, but he would do anything in his power to find her again. He couldn't really promise the same thing for her friends, but he would try.

Sin felt herself relax a bit more as she felt Rosc's arm come around her waist, no one was here to see or judge. She slowly rested her head on his shoulder and her fingers gently grazed his arm. "I'm sorry I hit you back there, this fog is...so disorienting. This whole place is like that, strange I just want to get back to school." She pushed a strand of her hair back as they walked along.
"I promised Alcie I would always have her back...I should have been with her when we crashed. She's a water demon and I know that should comfort me but this place...doesn't seem to play by normal rules." Of course Sin couldn't have known the ship was going to crash. If she had she wouldn't be in a long silken evening gown and strappy heels. She would have come better prepared even if Professor Winters did look down her nose at her.

One eyebrow rose slightly. "It was an accident, no need to apologize," he said, giving her a small squeeze. He didn't blame her, wouldn't have really blamed anyone. He was certain he'd hit someone else in the fighting, probably Gabrian or the ghoul that had been taken, as they were the closest to him when the fighting had stopped.
"I'm sure she is fine. We'll find her." He didn't really understand this, the idea of having someone's back and trusting them at your own. Yes, he would protect Sin, but much as he cared for her, he just wasn't ready to trust her to do the same for him. Oh, he knew that she probably would... He just wasn't ready to allow her at his back, to trust her where he couldn't see. And he knew things about her that her own parents were oblivious to, and she likewise with him. To put that type of trust in someone you had met in the short time you were at school, it was unbelievable to him.

Alcyone had managed to get to the island safely but not without destroying the beautiful dress and shoes that Professor Winters had given them. She had visited the supply tent but didn't manage to catch Vivi or Sin there. Alcie had only seen Tset for a brief time and now she was just wandering around. When they had crashed, Alcie managed to bump her head on something and it was still throbbing now. "Jack dammit..." Alcie continued to massage her scalp as she wandered aimlessly on the beach. This damned fog... Alcie didn't swear much but everytime something like this happened she found herself cursing like a pirate.
The water demon heard some voices in the distance but they were distorted by the crashing of the waves beside them. She was utterly lost though and she really needed to find some group. "Hello? Who's out there? It's Alcyone." Just in case there was somebody out there that knew her... Squinting, Alcie tried to make out the figures in the distance but to no avail. Hopefully they were friendly... This beach was starting to really look all the same... Sand on one side and the ocean on the other. Everything seemed hopeless at this point.

Sin felt a bit better, she wasn't shaking or near crying anymore anyway which was good. "I know...I'm just glad your okay." She wasn't sure how to explain the guilt of hitting him. It was as if every test of trust ended badly, pretty soon Rosc would be flinching at the sight of her. While it might have amused her with any other boil Rosc was different, she wanted to earn his trust. She already relied on him...perhaps a bit too much. What a horrid situation for them to be thrown into like this!
She nodded at his reassuring words, but wasn't sure if she really believed them. He just didn't want her upset about...wait...was that, could it be? "Alcie!" Sin cried out and quickly tugged Rosc towards the sound of her friends voice. "Rosc come quick I think it's Alcie." She didn't want to break away from him to check...in the fog it could be the last she saw of him.

"You know, you could kiss it and it'd probably feel even more better," Rosc replied a small, cheeky smirk on his face. He was mostly just teasing, but when push came to shove, he wouldn't mind a kiss from her, even if it was just on his arm.
But he didn't think he'd be getting that now, because he heard someone calling ahead of them, walking in their direction. And Sin started tugging at him, insisting that it was Alcie. And even to his ears, it sounded like the ghoul he had met. He didn't say anything as he let her tug him along, lengthening and quickening his strides so that they could close the distance faster.
Sure enough, it was Alcyone, looking a little worse for the wear, but that seemed to be a trend among the students here.

Rosc's hand tightened on Sin's for a moment before his fingers slipped through hers, rather than dragging her with him as another hooded figure ripped him away from the ghouls. What was going on here?! "You picked the wrong opponent," he growled, lashing out at the person with his tree-branch. Unfortunately, the attack missed, just barely. Rosc's HP :: 25 Attack Damage :: 0

HP: 7 Damage done to Rosc: 6The whip cracked sharply against his already troubled arm and his vision quivered slightly. He felt weaker, wondered what was up with that whip. His opponent gave no response, well, what reason was there for him to say anything? Hadn't his mentor always said that in combat, words were cheap, good breath he could use on his movements spent on useless comments? Rosc lunged again, dodging past as he lashed out with his branch. HP: 5 Damage done to Rosc: 1Rosc was on the ground before he knew it. Whips were not his thing, he hadn't known anyone who used them, so he couldn't have really trained against them. But if he was anything, he was an adapter. As he rolled away from him/her/it, his foot coming free, he aimed a whack at the back of his/her/its knee, attempting to "repay the favor" so to speak. His aim was true as he felt more than saw the branch connect. Rosc's HP :: 18 Attack Damage :: 3
