A Way With Words - An avid reader, Darien typically will have a book in his hands if knows he’ll be sitting somewhere for a few minutes. He has a broad range of interest in , business, and science, not to mention occasionally picking up a Entertainment U magazine everyone once in a while. What is a daily must is a newspaper not only to read, but for the crossword puzzle. It’s one of those small achievements he can take pride in each day - even if he often asks for a word every now and then.
On The Go - Growing up, Darien went to summer homes during the winter months, skiing in various mountain ranges, and took plenty of vacations with his parents. In college, he took every chance to go on educational trips to various countries, and then backpacked a few years after graduation. While he rarely ‘roughed it’ in any of these countries, and usually stuck to the more glamorous and well known areas, being someplace new, exotic, and taking in the sights is something he greatly enjoys. It also makes for some great bragging opportunities. While he certainly has done less traveling recently, he does love hopping in his Prius Convertible and taking a road trip.
Fascinated with Flora - Given ‘Get Well baskets as a child, Darien has always loved the presence of plants. Most specifically, roses. Not to type to plant herbs or vegetables, he goes for growing the more visual appealing flowers, though he strongly favors roses. Red roses to be exact, clearly because they are the better, most prized and visually appealing of all. Making flower arrangements, pruning, and simply walking through a garden are all stress relievers for him. His apartment is filled with hanging baskets and flower boxes full of various roses, and his balcony has been converted into a small greenhouse.

Flaws:
4-Popped Collars Cool: Darien is the complete package and knows that he is superior in most every way. He knows it. You know it. He’ll regard you with the smile of someone who knows he’s dealing with a low-class nobody who knows very little. While he appreciates your support and manpower, the hard decision and more complex operations are better left to him. He’s sure you’ll appreciate whatever he comes up with because, face it, he knows what’s best for you and everyone else. Fail to recognize him for how great he is and show the respect he’s sure he deserves, and he’ll become short with you, showing less and less interest. Fail to meet his high standards and he’ll stop being as genuinely friendly as before.
Entitled: Used to the best of the best, it’s impossible to impress Darien with anything less, let alone be around him. If things aren’t just so, he’ll make it a point to draw your attention to your mistake. Watermarks on his spoon, the bottled water not being HIS brand, and waiting in line for more than 5 minutes. Even if there are realistic and clear reasons behind it or a nice thought behind the action, the fact it isn’t up to his standards will cause him to be cross and bring your attention to the problem till something is fixed or until you know to never to insult in him such a way again. Just making do and letting things slide isn’t his way.
In One Ear and Out the Other: Darien listens when it’s convenient and supports his ideas, but he’ll block what you have to say and talk over you when he needs something done. Your time is his to use, and he’s entitled to much more if he needs it. If your not helping him in his goals or wanting something from him that’s a inconvenience to him, then he’ll simply ignore it and continue as if you never said anything at all. His support only goes so far. If you’re on the same page and working with him, he’s fine and dandy with you, but make excuses or something that keeps you from being on his side and working for him and he could care less. You’ll do it if you know what’s good for you because he knows what’s better - namely what's better for him.
No Need For ADD: It’s not stress that bothers him, but distraction. If someone pulls his attention away when he wants to focus and work, it makes him anxious and concerned nothing will get done. He’s sent more than enough coworkers and customers storming off when they have tried to pull his attention away from an inventory list of a order for a flower arrangement by giving them a smart retort to pulling away his attention. It’s one thing for him to distract your time when he has his own to kill, but don’t you dare bother him when there are things important to him to do. You’ll just frustrate him and he’ll try to get you back to business or at least leave him alone to focus - even if it means being cold and short. If a colleague at work wants to share a story about this girl he saw at the bar the other night when he’s working on several delivery orders, he’ll quickly and smoothly address what little changes he had in getting her, question how much he’d been drinking, and see how fast the other shuts up and gets back to working.
Virtues:
Supportive: A pat on the back and a simple pep talk can go a long way, and if it’s the fuel, the added boost, the one ray of light during a rather dark fight that will push his friends and allies through, he will be there for them. Your boss, your best friend, or a insightful stranger on the subway, if you need to lean on someone of if he sees you need a helping hand, Darien can pop out of nowhere and offer you a helpful reminder that things aren’t as gloomy as they appear.
Level-Headed: While appearing relaxed and at ease, Darien usually has a list of goals and ideas in his head at all time for just what he wants to accomplish in a day to those that will take more time. While he doesn’t appear to be a workaholic, he likes being productive, and likes seeing things get done. Prioritizing, he’s good with organizing what needs to be done due to what he feels is most important, and he can keep his cool if deadlines rise and crunch tasks to make it. He doesn’t like half-assing anything, but if he’s in a group, he’ll be fine if you get your own jobs done your own way, and support you if you show that you are getting things done. Being buddies and having fun is all well and good, but there is a time and place for everything, and when it comes to what’s most important, he’ll switch gears easily to what needs the most attention and keep everybody focused.
Charismatic: A natural charm for speaking, he holds the balanced mixture of the approachable boy next door and the educated charm that brings out respect in others. Growing up, other boys looked up to him while he never seemed to be lacking in offers from girls come Friday night. While he can be flirtatious and charming, he tends to slip out more than a few lines that would ruin a moment and make a person gag at some of the more corny lines. If you had a moment while watching a movie and thought no one in their right mind, in the real world, would say such a thing, Darien would prove you wrong. For all that he may cause a few people to want to roll their eyes, he does know how to break the ice.
