Dethiatin looked down from his perch in a tree. The stream below him bubbled and complained. Dropping his head onto his forepaws he cringed. He had spent all of last night arguing with his mother Hael again. It made his head hurt how stubborn she was. All because De was in love with a fox who’s linage had some Deava blood in it. Neither Yuna nor her fathers were mean or rude like his mother insisted all Deavas were. De closed his eyes and wished the throbbing in his head would stop. Off in the distance a bird called and De groaned. The woods seemed so happy and alive that he hated it. He was miserable so why couldn’t the rest of the world be dark and gloomy for a day? It was bad enough Hael didn’t approve of his love for Yuna but he insisted that he needed a ‘good’ female influence.. in other words a phim. She was dragging girls he didn’t even know home just to meet him and then would convently disappear leaving him alone with a stranger. Honestly De was beginning to think his mother hoped he was gay so she could bring males home to throw at him and turn him from Yuna. If she starts that I swear I’m leaving home.

Yuna was finally able to slip out from the watchful eye of her dad. She had talked him into her letting a bath, which wasn't an exact lie. She also wanted to look for the Phim she grew up with. Even when she was a kit her dad was protective of her. Now as a young vixen he is even more guarded of her. Yuna sighed but laughed. Her dad may be a Daeva but he acted like a Phim. She went a little deeper where she knew a stream was, the current wasn't that strong and it was deep enough for a decent bath. With out looking around Yuna plopped in and enjoyed the cool water.

Opening his eyes De heard some splashing in the stream. He looked for a moment before he saw what it was. His heart nearly stopped when he realized it was Yuna that was bathing in the stream. Her dark blue coat glistened in the water. Her markings were as free flowing as the river itself. He forced himself to remember how to breathe and smoothed his hair with his paw suddenly nervous. Finally he worked up the courage and called out to her suddenly glad the woods and the world seemed so cheery today. “Hello there!”
(and yet he doesn't come out of the tree.. chicken phim.)

Yuna perked up and looked around. She knew that voice. It was De! But... where was he? Still in the water she looked up and saw him up in the tree. "What are you doing up there!?" Yuna blinked the realized that he was watching her bathe.. Unless he just flew in... but wouldn't she hear him land? She quickly jumped out and shook herself off, only for her fur to fluff. Yuna squeaked shyly and slightly embarrassed.

“I’m just resting. I’ve been here for a while. Though I must have been half asleep not to notice you coming.” De rolled out of the tree and landed on the ground with a thump. He walked up to Yuna as she came to shore. “How are you doing Yuna?” De couldn’t help but smile at Yuna she was just so cute. His good mood was tempered by the fact that this was the vixen his mother had so much issue with. Though his mother’s blatant racism could not stop his heart from loving and longing for Yuna.

As Yuna saw De roll out of the tree she frantically tried to settle her fur. "I see. Did you enjoy your nap then?" Yuna smiled at the Phim and her heart was making funny loops in her chest. A slight wind had picked up and his hair was blowing slightly. Yuna tried to hide her reddening cheeks by looking around. Her method of hiding things wasn't very good.

De shook his head. “I’m afraid that my last few days haven’t been nearly restful enough.” Was it just his imagination or did her cheeks seem redder? Just seeing her made him realize all over again how bais his mother was. Yuna was kind and loving. It didn’t matter if she had phim or Deava blood in her. She was good. He wished his mother could see that. “So what have you and your family been up to?”

"I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you can stay with me?" Yuna couldn't hide the blush that was on her cheeks. She was sure that given the situation, her dad would let him. "As for my family... Mom is still missing with my sister, My dad seems to be taking it hard though." Yuna frowned a bit, then smiled. "But he knows they will be back soon."

“I would like to stay with you. If that’s alright with your father of course.” De smiled at Yuna pondering how cute she was. He nodded slowly his smile dimming only slightly. “Yes I know how that is. My brother and my other mother are gone often too. I haven’t seen either in quite some time. Still it is good that your mother and sister will be coming back soon. I don’t think I’ve met either of them. I’d like to at some point.”

As much as Yuna loved De, his family is a different story. His brother Kail is kind as well. But his mother Hael was hateful. Yuna didn't like to think mean things about her, but it was true. Hael couldn't stand the sight of her, just because of the Daeva blood that ran in her. Yuna shook her head and smiled. "They would love you." Even Yugure would warm up to him... Eventually... Hopefully...

De smiled and nodded. “Well I doubt it, still meeting them would be fun. Are you hungry? We can always try our hand at doing a bit of fishing. Or perhaps I should leave and let you bath?” De nudged Yuna playfully. In truth he was a bit embarrassed that he had woken up or rather came out of his daze to see her bathing. Still he didn’t regret it. She looks so beautiful in the water.

"They will though. I promise." Yuna smiled at De, I mean.. how could they not? The fox before her was kind and loving... Yuna drifted off in her mind not really hearing De. "Oh I'm not hungry and I really didn't a bath." She smiled and chuckled, only for a low grumble to come from her stomach. Oh man... betrayed by my own stomach. Yuna loved fish but she couldn't fish very well.. nor swim.

De did his best not to chuckle. One thing Yuna was not was a good liar. She might have managed to slip by with only his wary gut feeling telling him that she wasn’t saying everything, but her own body retaliating on her in such a manner was a sure sign that she wasn’t going to get away today~ “Mhmm… Well you might not be hungry but myself and your stomach are. Surely you wouldn’t starve us both?”

Yuna's eyes grew large. "I-I'd never do such a thing! Th-that's just harsh! I couldn't starve you!!" Yuna felt herself start to ramble so she closed her mouth, looked down, and turned red. "Well... I have a slight confession..." Yuna's face wrinkled a bit, then she sighed. Might as well say it now... "I'm a lousy hunter... and fisher..." Yuna looked up with her eyes, her head was still ducked low.

“I’m glad to hear that.” De grinned at Yuna and watched her blush and listened to her confession not quite sure why to expect. He did his best not to chuckle at Yuna. He didn’t know that about her. It was definitely something new and something he wanted to remember. So she isn’t much of a hunter huh? Well that isn’t a problem. “I’m good enough at both. So would you rather have meat or fish?”
