The mare had been searching for a while, but she had yet to find him. Him being her father. She wanted to know what he was like, and why he had left mother all alone. There was many questions that she wanted to ask her father. But like many of her quests to find him they had lead to other adventures which side tracked her from her quest.

Humming escaped the depths of her throat as she moved along. Like always her mind had drifted from its original quest as she wondered what sort of Soq lived in these new found woods of hers. The sun was shinning high and snow on the branches of the trees were melting dripping drops of water upon her. She didn't mind the droplets of water, she didn't care if the mud of the earth stained her coat. This was adventure and you were bound to get dirty on an adventure.

Tilting her head to the sky she stopped walking for a few moments. Taking in the warmth of the sun on her back. "What a wonderful day for an adventure." She spoke to the sky. Lilith shook her head flinging a few drops of water of her own off of her hair before the adventurous mare continued forth.

Auri had been flying for a while. The day was warm enough, but the wind was brisk and cool. Tiger didn't complain, but Auri could see his companion was needing a rest.

Auri hadn't seen anyone all day. He was hoping to find a small herd he could ask after the bear Spike and his long lost sibling. He had been waiting to stop, wanting to make any break worth taking. But there was no one around. He'd land and just keep going, walking for a while and letting tiger take a rest riding on his back.

As Auri started looking for a place to set down, he noticed movement. White and gold showing through between tree branches, and maybe a hint of blue. He circled. Yes, there was someone. Sudden energy from the hope that another soq ignited, Auri spotted a clearing not too far down the path the mare was taking.

Auri spiraled in, the clearing smaller than he had thought, his wings brushing against snow laden branches as he landed. A clump of melting snow hit his nose on the way to the ground and the cold wet soaked into his wings quickly. Flapping his wings with powerful snaps a couple of times helped, but they were still cold and uncomfortably damp. Even if they hadn't been tired, he likely wouldn't try flying on them again for a while.

Tiger, much smaller and more graceful, managed to land on a branch that had been newly denuded of its snow without incident and laughed lightly at his chosen friend. Auri sighed, rolled his eyes, and folded his wings in to his body, it would take them longer to dry, but they would stay warmer. Besides, they really were too tired to hold out for long.

Auri turned towards the trail and the direction the mare would be coming from. It didn't occur to him that the sounds of his wings cracking in the air might make her cautious to approach. For now, he was merely excited to meet someone he could ask about his lost family.

A flash of gold caught her eye as her hooves continued pressing forward. The mare's humming never ceased as she squinted up at the sky looking for this golden object which had caught her eye. Maybe it was just the sun after all. The mare shook her head at this, no there was defiantly movement, but where had it gone.

It wasn't long before her ears swiveled catching the sound of snapping caught her attention. It came from in front of her, she wondered who could be there or what it was. A soft excited neigh escaped her and then her humming continued. Someone new, she was finally going to meet someone new! It had been a while since she had saw a new face, her last adventure had brought her across a bird like looking soq. This time it seemed like she was going to meet another flying horse. She wondered what they would be like.

As she wondered she found her pace along her path had quickened. Her tail flicked behind her as her excitement began to rise quickly, nearly bubbling forth. Maybe this flying creature had meet her father, after all they could travel quicker in the sky then she could on land. Finally she reached the clearing which Auri was in. When her eyes set upon him she made herself known with a loud excited "Hello~!" which was half sung. Lilith always liked meeting others, often time she found they had interesting stories to tell.

Though as her eyes took him in, she realized that he could have been mistaken for the sun. It was a good thing she trusted her sight and followed. His coat was bright with hues of gold, orange and hints of red, almost like the sun itself.

Auri was a bit startled at such an enthusiastic greeting. He had been on his quest for a while and he was most often greeted with a display of territoriality. But this cheerful hello rang with almost joyful music. And though he was somewhat solemn by nature, Auri couldn't help but smile brightly in response to the cheerful mare.

"Hello to you as well. I am Auri, this is my friend Tiger," he nods his head towards the tree and the hawk watching the two Soquili with the introduction. The hawk mealy bobs it's head in greeting once before being distracted by a squirrel.

"It is good to see someone else out here. I had begun to think there was no one to be found in these woods. I've been searching for a while and nearly decided to take a break when I noticed you along the path. And, may I say, while finding you is something of a relief, you are quite a lovely sight to greet my weary self." It wasn't that Auri was trying to be flattering. In truth, he had never really been exposed to the concept. But he had been taught to be polite and truthful.

And while questions relevant to his search were buzzing in his head, ready to bubble out, Auri waited. It was polite to exchange pleasantries before rushing into important questions. And, as he always strove to be polite, the questions would wait. Honestly, Auri didn't mind exchanging the pleasantries in this case. The mare was quite striking, even if a bit of mud clung to her fetlocks. He hadn't had much occasion to meet a Cerynei and he found her beauty exotic and enchanting.

"Lilith," She gave her name, introducing herself to the pair. "I've been thinking the same. I've been walking for quite sometime now and I haven't seen anyone. I was beginning to think that this was a deserted forest. Ghosts must have driven out its inhabitants," Lilith chimed in. At the mention of ghosts her mind wandered back towards her days as a youth. Going ghost hunting with her older cousin.

There was a bit of a pause from the mare as her mind drifted. Soon once it was out of its own thoughts she brought herself back to reality. Her eyes focused on him, she was quite intrigued with the male. She was wondering if this male had gotten to close to the sun, maybe he was the sun. A sun god coming down to earth to communicate with the rest of the world.

Without much thought she asked her question, well more then one they seemed to fly off her tongue fairly quickly. "Are you a sun god? Is Tiger your messenger? If you are a sun God why'd you come down from up there?" She tilted her head towards the sky with a small pause. The sun was still there, maybe he wasn't a sun god. But it would be quite the tale if he was. "You said you were searching for something. What are you searching for?"

Auri blinked at the mention of ghosts and exchanged a look with Tiger. He supposed he couldn't say for sure there was no such thing, but while Auri believed in the spirits, ghosts were another thing entirely. He just couldn't understand why anyone would want to stick around after they were dead, there must be so much better stuff to do.

But soon the thought was driven from his mind as he was deluged with questions that were, rather odd. "Um . . . no, I'm not a . . . he's just a hawk. I wouldn't want to be a Sun God anyway if it meant I couldn't land and rest sometimes. I . . . I honestly have never been asked that before." Auri didn't know what to make of this mare. Her thoughts made no sense to him.

Until the last one, "Ah, yes. I'm searching for a bear named Spike and my sibling. We were still in basket when our mother died and we were separated. I don't know what happened to my sibling, but the basket was left with the bear Spike. I hope to find them and reunite what is left of my family."

"I see," murmured Lilith, her face dropped a bit but it didn't stay down long. After a few moments her smile returned to her face. She was disappointed but now that she had a few moments to think about it, it would be odd to meet a sun god on earth.

"That is horrible. If you want I can help you on your search. It would be an adventure in itself." Lilith suggested. Maybe she would find some clues about finding her own father in this little adventure. "I've usually travel alone, but there were a few times where explored with others, its makes the adventure much more exciting."

Auri shrugs slightly, "It is sad, but too distant to be horrible. To have known them and lost them would be worse, I think. Though I would be grateful for company. It gets tedious traveling alone."

"I wouldn't want to inconvenience you or take you out of your way, though. I try not to have my adventures too exciting. Exciting usually comes with danger on it's hooves."

"I would love to help you. It would be no trouble at all." The mare replied. "Any kind of adventure is exciting," To Lilith if she sensed any sort of adventure near she'd go trotting off after it, big or small it didn't matter. No wonder she's taken so long to search for her father. She got side tracked so easily.

"Then I am glad of the company." Auri smiled at her as he began walking along the trail. "Do you know anything about this area? I've been flying along for a while and havn't seen anyone else for hours."

"Sadly I do not," Lilith replied honestly. "I'm quite new to this area." She followed beside him her ears flicking. "So this bear spike is the only clue you have to finding your sibling?" Lilith questioned him remembering the story he had told not moments before.

Auri nods, "I know that we were near a river. Tiger believes he will recognize it if he sees it again, though it has been many years. I am hoping that the other basket will be there. Our mother named me Auri and the other basket Pele', but I don't know if Spike was able to tell my sibling the name our mother gave it. I do not even know if my sibling is a brother or a sister, or if it even survived, it will make the search more difficult, but I have to try."

Looking over to the mare, Auri marvels. She seems so strange, almost innocent. And yet exotic and beautiful. He wonders why she is here, "Do you travel often or did you just move to this area for some reason . . . if you don't mind my asking?"

She was silent for a while listening to his word, his voice ringing musically in her head. When he was done speaking many moments of silence past between the two as she racked her thoughts. "Was is a big or a small river" She tilted her head over her shoulder and behind her as she continued to speak. "Because I passed by a river yesterday. I couldn't cross it so I just traveled along it for a while before deciding it wasn't interesting enough and started to travel this way."

There was a bit of a pause before she answered his question. The question had reminded her of the real reason she had been traveling. "I'm always searching for an adventure, but I've been searching for a relative myself, my father. Exciting explorations and meetings have interrupted my search."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 2:23 pm

"It was a larger river, though it was swollen with heavy rains. Perhaps the river you saw is the one we seek." As Auri listened to her, he was a bit bemused that she also sought family. "Your father? Perhaps I have met him in my travels. If you would like to describe him, perhaps I will be able to help?"

Her ears flattened back as she thought for a moment. "I really don't know what he looks like," she finally stated, "I never met him nor has mother told me about him. But he must have horns like I do, Mama doesn't have horns. And beads, mama doesn't have those either. He must have some sort of dark blue on him too cause mama doesn't have that color. Oh and he must have eyes like mine, she doesn't have eyes like mine." There was a pause as she thought longer on it she was missing something, "Oh and a tail like mine possibly. Does that help?"
