Look around you.
The nursery is quiet spacious. It's located on a hill at the far end of camp. The entrance is quite steep but safe enough for kits to enter and leave. Once you enter the nursery, there is a large clearing with many nests at its end. But there is another hallway, that leads to a smaller clearing with three nests, this room is used for birth. The nursery is quite dark but with cat's keen eyes, they have no problem dealing with the darkness.

 "To live is to slowly be born."_____________________________Embergaze_____________________________[Embergaze padded into the nursery, eyes bright. A rabbit hung from his jaws, lifeless. He had gone hunting for his mate, Mapleleaf, who was in the nursery now with their two kittens, Bearkit and Poisekit.
Embergaze purred in greeting to them, dropping the rabbit for Mapleleaf, and perhaps the kits, to chew on.]
"And how is everyone doing today?" he rumbled in his deep voice, orange eyes glowing in the darkness. "You haven't been bothering the other warriors again, I hope?"
[The kits were just right around the age to be apprenticed, which made Embergaze nervous. He hoped Galestar wouldn't give them to him! He was a horrible mentor-time showed that-and he felt he'd only jinx his kits if they were his apprentices.
It was unlikely to happen anyway. Fathers and sons rarely ever became a mentor-apprentice team because it was unfair. Much to his relief.
And he was a veteran warrior, so there was no way he'd get a new apprentice when there were so many new warriors who needed apprentices before him!
He licked Mapleleaf's head, blinking lovingly at her, and settled down next to the group, a purr still rumbling in his muscular frame. He was pretty content, though. Mapleleaf had given birth during the end of leafbare, which scared everyone, but the kits made it through with all their energy still burning bright. It was a wonderful miracle.
And he was very happy to be a father (who constantly fretted over his mate and young)!]

B e a r k i t
[Bearkit was in the corner of the nursery, playing with a rock and leaf. Ever since birth, he was quite fond of the two objects.]"Mommy, look my my pretty leaf and rock! Look, look, look!"[He squealed, jumping up and down. He immediately stopped once Embergaze, his father came into the nursery. The large kit jumped in front of the gray tom and clung to his paw.]"Daddyyyyyyy play with me and my leaf and rock pleaseeee?!"[Letting go, Bearkit hopped over to the corner, where he stored his special leaf and rock. Although he had friends that actually talked and breathed, he still liked to simply play with a pebble and leaf. It reminded him of his kithood. He was soon to be apprenticed. Thinking of that, he wondered who his mentor was going to be. He hoped it was someone cool, like... Firerain. Yeah, he was a tom AND pregnant. I mean, life couldn't get any better then a pregnant tom.]"Wait, everyone said that Firerain's been pregnant for over ten moons now. And they said he broke his ribs too at that gathering.."[The kit became confused. Sometimes, his own thoughts confused him! Now was time to ask daddy about these things.]"Hey daddy, Firerain told me that he's pregnant. Who's his mate? Hasn't he been pregnant for like, a million moons now? Wouldn't his kits have died since he broke his ribs while being pregnant?"

[At the sight of her father, Poisekit quickly jumped to her paws and hurried over to him. Suddenly, her brother's voice appeared out of nowhere. She turned her head and looked at him.] "Bearkit, I can't hear you. Speak louder." [She practically yelled. Due to her being half deaf, she didn't understand most things cats said. Looking back at her father, she sat down in front of him and tilted her head up.] "Father! How are you?!" [She asked in a loud voice. She turned her head once more as Bearkit talked about Firerain being pregnant again. Poisekit rolled her eyes at her brother and padded over to him] "Brother, Firerain isn't pregnant. If he were, he would be in the nursery." [She stated in a matter-of-fact tone. She looked around and saw no calico tom. Firerain couldn't really be pregnant, could he? Sighing softly, Poisekit looked back at her father and mother. They were lovely together, she quickly pranced over to them and laid by their feet.]

"To live is to slowly be born."_____________________________Embergaze_____________________________[Embergaze purred at his son, eyes filled with amusement. At the mention of Firerain, he shook his head, twitching an ear. He'd have to go about this delicately...
Poisekit joined into the conversation before Embergaze thought of what to say. He nodded to his daughter, laughter in his eyes.]
"That's right, sweetie, Firerain is most certainly not pregnant," he stated, licking his paw and then swiping the paw over his ear. "That's just a joke in the Clan when Firerain yelled at Galestar that he was pregnant. We use it to taunt him with, I suppose, but I think he enjoys the attention.
Toms can't get pregnant, you see, only she-cats can. Carrying kittens is a miracle of life reserved for the mother. You were once in your mother's tummy too."
[He scuffed Bearkit on the head with a massive paw, eyes glinting mischeviously. His whiskers twitched in amusement.]
"But enough about Firerain, I want to know about you. How are my strong warriors doing this morning?"
[He licked his daughter's head as he spoke and cuffed Bearkit again, a cheerful expression on his face. He loved having children! Bearkit was growing to look much like his father. Poisekit did not look like Embergaze or Mapleleaf, but she was Embergaze's beautiful flower nonetheless.
Mapleleaf purred at them amusedly, swishing her tail over Bearkit playfully. Embergaze beamed at her proudly, licking her cheek, and he settled down on his haunches with his family, feeling happier than he ever had been before.]

[Bearkit's expression changed once his sister told him FIrerain was a liar. He quickly swatted at her ear and giggled. He pushed his muzzle into his sisters ear, and shouted,]"CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW SIS!? And, Firerain doesn't lie! He TOLD me he was pregnant. I think he's cool for being pregnant. DADDY WHY CAN'T YOU GET PREGNANT AND GIVE ME MORE BROTHERS AND SISTERS!?"[He said, looking up a Embergaze. He nodded his head as his father explained that Firerain's pregnancy was onyl a joke. Wait, so Firerain LIED?! Bearkit gasped in awe. He was lied to! The kit was about to go find the calico warrior, but was stopped when his father playfully scuffed his head with his paw.]"Oh, it's on bro! I'mma show you my moves my epi-moves. Ha, get it? I invented the word by combining epic and moves together."[He squeaked. Bearkit was about to lunge for Embergaze, when suddenly, something fluffy and soft swished over him. He squealed with glee, it was mommy's tail! The apprentice sized kit giggled slightly, and began chasing his mothers tail, pretending it was a mouse.]

[Purring in a satisfied tone, Poisekit nodded as her father talked. As always she was right, Firerain couldn't be pregnant.] "I told you Bearkit." [She meowed loudly. She sat by her father and licked her paw, seeing that is was dirty. How was she doing? Pretty good, except for being half-deaf.] "I'm doing fine, though it's kind of annoying being half-deaf. Do you think Ice-ears could fix me up?" [She asked in a hopeful tone. Maybe she could and then she would be as good as new. She looked at Bearkit and narrowed her eyes, he just screamed in her ear.] "Bearkit that isn't funny! Stop yelling!" [She yelled back, but thought she was speaking normally. Poisekit watched as her mother swept her tail over her brother and laughed, Bearkit looked weird chasing her momma's tail.] "I want to try!" [She giggled with happiness. She got down and began to chase the tail too, like her brother was.]

Mapleleaf twitched her tail around, her voice ringing with soft laughter. He watched her affectionately, love swelling in his chest.
Tilting his head at Poisekit, he sighed. It really did seem like the kit was half deaf; she could hear better than a deaf cat, thankfully, but her hearing was that of a veteran warrior who'd been in one too many battles.
It worried him a bit, but she showed no signs of struggling with it. He hoped it would stay that way.]
"So full of energy," he commented to Mapleleaf with a soft purr. "So restless," she agreed, flicking her tail around amusedly. "Are you two ready to become apprentices?" he asked them with a soft smile, swishing his skinny tail over his paws. "Your ceremonies should be coming up any time now. Who do you think Galestar will choose to be your mentors?"

"To live is to slowly be born."_____________________________Embergaze_____________________________[Embergaze's ears pricked as he heard a sudden gasping. He turned to see Frostclaw going into labor. As she pleaded for someone to get her mate, Embergaze's eyes widened, panic running through him.
He whirled around, blinking at Mapleleaf with wide eyes. As he opened his mouth, she nodded her head, eyes flicking over to the struggling queen with worry.]
"Don't worry about us, just go," she said reassuringly, speaking in her melodically soft voice.
[He nodded sternly, turning tail and rushing out of the nursery to find Galestar. Well, he made sure to stop and alert the medicine cat, who rushed into the nursery, and then dashed out of camp as fast as his muscular legs could carry him. (( I just had to say muscular. Rofl. ))
Gotta hurry, gotta hurry he thought to himself, eyes as wide as the moon.]

"Frostclaw!" Galestar gasped, tongue hanging out as he panted. "I came as fast as I could."
[He saw the medicine cat at her side, helping her to breathe and calm down. He quickly padded to her side. licking her cheek.]
"Be calm, love, I'm here for you, right beside you. Don't worry about a thing, you'll be well taken care of."
[He nodded to the medicine cat with worried eyes, but gave Frostclaw no indication of his worry. His outer posture was calm and collected, though his eyes betrayed his feelings.
He knew he shouldn't think negative thoughts, but he kept imagining something horrible going wrong and one of the kits dying-or, worse, Frostclaw dying with them.
He tried to shoo the thoughts away by shaking himself vigorously. StarClan, please watch over her, he prayed, eyes crinkling in worry. I couldn't bear it if she died tonight.]

   In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear
In your eyes  [Frostclaw wanted nothing more than to cuddle with Galestar as he rushed in. Her wait had seemed like a moon compared to the many moments it had been. She followed the medicine cat's instructions and tried to calm herself and her breathing, but with little affect. Though the pain was great, Frostclaw was calmed by her mate's presence. She let out a half laugh, half gasp as she tried to speak through the pain.]
"It's...not s'bad."
[Though that's when the real pain came. Shock after shock of pain erupted as the kits made their way through her body and out into the world. One kit, two kits, three kits. Oh StarClan when would it ever end!? She hadn't wanted kits at first, and Galestar had been alright with it. When she had later decided she wanted to please him and make their companionship complete with birth she had whole heartedly wanted her own kits to raise and watch over. But she had expected one, perhaps two but now she was up to three, and with another one coming!
The queen looked tiredly up at Galestar. The fourth was out. Another was coming. There was no way to stop it, she would just need to bare through it. The fifth entered the world. The second Galestar look alike. So far they had two Galestar look alikes, and three mixed. Her belly heaved again and she yelled out in pain, reaching her paws out where ever she could as if she could touch something and have the pain disappear. Then the last. She was slower than the rest, but she was just as beautiful. She had Frostclaw's looks. Frostclaw raised her head for a moment to watch the medicine cat lick her kittens furiously. They were all breathing. They were all alive. It was over. But it was also just beginning. She laid her head down, sides heaving with relief and exhaustion.]If I never knew you

But it wasn't over! To his surprise, twins were next-identical twins that were spitting images of the leader himself. His eyes bugged out of his head. Could it be? They knew the litter was going to be large, but five kits-
and then, as if just to prove him wrong again, the last kit emerged, a beautiful replica of Frostclaw.
It seemed to be over now. Frostclaw was calming, and her breath evened out. Galestar fussed over his six new kittens, eyes wide and alert.]
"Frostclaw," he whispered. "Th-they're beautiful. Can I name some?"
[She nodded to him tiredly, and he purred, sniffing his newborn kittens with pride bursting in his chest.]
He hesitantly looked over the males, announcing the twins as "Galekit and Cobaltkit."
Then his eyes flickered over to one of the triplets, twitching his nose, and assented, "Ironkit."
[He nodded to Frostclaw. Those were his names for now. He had chosen the males-but especially left the Frostclaw lookalike to Frostclaw.]
"They're all so beautiful," he murmured sweetly, licking his mate on the cheek. "I'm glad I came just in time. I'm glad you're alright. I'm glad they're alright. Oh, I'm so happy, Frostclaw!"
[His purr rumbled deeply through the nursery, his eyes glimmering with pride.
They really were his kittens! He couldn't get enough of them!]
