Jabari glowered at the female as they entered the jaw, only taking a moment to glance around at the Ligi lounging in the cool shade. "There," he said, nodding towards his rather comfortable bed of dried grass and tree leaves. "You'll sleep there." He would make his bed larger. It wasn't as if he wanted to DO something to the female, just wanted to keep the others from doing it. He didn't like her, but he didn't hate her yet. Of course, she wouldn't see it that way. And good, the little idiot needed some fear beat into her.

Sitaki was not feeling very pleased with the recent happenings in her life. No, she'd made a royal mistake by coming to this territory and now just look -- her lot in life was to become a slave forced to do only Gods knew what for these lazy lions. And they were lazy, too, she noticed as those icy blue eyes of hers peered around. They were big lions, obviously well fed, but that was no issue. Perhaps they would be more keen on falling for her persuasive powers. "What if I don't want to sleep there," she groused, shooting Jabari a glance that was laden with attitude. No, she wasn't going to submit just yet. She was just... testing the waters.

"Then you can sleep in the middle of the room, and enjoy the nightly attentions of any and all of the Ligi in the room," he said evilly, with a smile that was cold and amused. "They might make you get them things, sure, but I'm pretty positive they'll have other things for you to do on their minds."
"Of course, if you want to pick one of them to be between you and the others, feel free," he added, heading for his bed. "I'm sure one would love to be your... hero."
Well, if she picked one of his brothers, she probably could get away with it. But they were actually doing their jobs, and weren't in there.

Sitaki sniffed quietly to herself. Maybe she would find herself a stupid lion in the pride, one that she could give pretty looks and enticing words to, one that would fall for her wiles where Jabari hadn't. Maybe she WOULD. Just.. not today. No, she would single one of the stupid males out after watching them for a few days and see which one would best fit the role of hero.
As it was, Sitaki skulked after Jabari. "Well, where do you sleep," she asked. It would be good to know in case she needed to tear out his throat in the middle of the night when he was fast asleep.

"You should enjoy this," he said. "I'm giving you my bed." He looked over the bed he was offering up thoughtfully, mentally listing the things he would need to make a bed next to it. It was interesting, how much better taken care of this bed was from the others. It seemed as if it were created by a lion that was a bit a**l about cleanliness and structure.
Of course, that also meant he could have made a slave make it for him. If he was so comfortable dragging her into this, he was obviously a callous b*****d not above using others shamelessly. "Let's go," he said. "We have things to collect."

Oh that was rich. That was just poetic justice, wasn't it? But still, it was nice enough treatment for a slave, she supposed. It could be worse. She could be forced to sleep in places that her mind couldn't fathom. Dirty places, wormy and buggy places. No, this bed was just fine and she could appreciate the fact that he seemed to care for his own sleeping quarters well enough.
"You're such a gentleman," she snorted sourly, nudging the bedding with a disdainful toe.
Sitaki wondered how far she could push his buttons before he actually physically struck her, and with that thought in mind she spoke her next words very carefully.
"I don't feel like it. I'm rather tired." She faked a yawn, icy blue eyes on him thoughtfully. She didn't have any intentions of simply allowing him to order her around, and a large part of her was thrilled by the way he'd simply taken to bossing her around. Sitaki had always enjoyed males that did not hesitate to take what they wanted. "You go ahead without me." As if he'd really given her a choice.

"Ah, then why don't I introduce you to your new roommates before I leave?" Jabari said agreeably. "Anything you want them to know before I go? Like certain... preferences?"
He was a real b*****d, plain and simple. "Oh, wait, I doubt they'll care what you prefer," he said. "Have fun, boys, I've got a bed to expand--"

It was so easy to hate him. It really was. She snarled as she stomped by Jabari, muttering under her breath very brilliant and choice words that very simply voiced her thoughts on his behavior. It was a shame, really, that she had no other choice but to believe what he said about the heathens that surrounded her.
Tiring of the games between them, Sitaki halted just a few steps ahead of him. "Lets go," she snapped, her temper flashing in her eyes. She didn't even know where they were going, she only knew that she did not want to be left alone among these lions that obviously had no scruples.
He was such a b*****d.

He doubted they would have done too much to her, but hell, the look on her face made it worth it. And a tiny smile pulled at his lips as he sauntered past her, his still silent steps making him positively silent as he headed out the jaw and up the path to the area above the weeping lion. Leaves and grass were abundant there.
"You rogue lions," he said, "how do you survive all alone out there?"

"I'd been doing just fine on my own," she snarled, ears pinned back, "until I happened upon you. My biggest regret," she grumbled to herself, slinking along behind him. He was so self-assured, so cocky. Look how he walked without so much as a worry that she might attack him. She should attack him and get be done with it. If she got hurt, well, she wouldn't be much of a slave, and if she hurt him... she liked the thought of that.
But now wasn't the time, not when they were so close to the lions that lazed about in the caves below. "And you," she asked with a regal tone, one that ill-suited her current occupation in life, "How do you survive knowing that everyone around you doesn't like you?" She didn't know exactly what she was talking about. It was said with innocence and out of the frustration that was in her own mind at the moment.

"Let them," he said, his tone a mix of rage and agony. "Let them hate me, let them curse me with their last breath. Let them try to kill me each chance they get. I have a job to do." Then he stopped abruptly, shaking his head as he realized what he had just said.
"There's grass over there. Start picking it," he ordered her, his tone changing back to the cool tone he had used earlier. It lacked the cynical amusement he usually had, but he was working on it. "I'll get the leaves."

That had been strange. She hadn't expected that kind of response from him. His tone had changed into something that made her question exactly what he meant by all those words. Perhaps she would be able to ask him about that after they'd grown closer. He sounded almost like he needed a friend.
Wait, what? Sitaki scowled at herself. Where had THAT thought come from? She didn't question him, instead dealing with troubled thoughts of her own. Why had he sounded so upset and so ...un-cool? Shaken?
"I hope you aren't going to put your bed by mine," she grumbled loftily. Her mind still churned with the meanings of his harshly spoken words.

"Of course I am," he said. "That's my area, I'm keeping it." It was strategically placed where he could get out of the cave easily, yet have the protection of the wall--well, s**t, he was giving up his wall to this little pain in the a**, and she wasn't even grateful for it. He would be surrounded on all sides--
"Actually, you're right. Maybe I shouldn't give you my bed. I like having the wall at my side."

Sitaki snorted around a mouthful of grass. Such menial work. She was so much better than this and yet here she was sniveling around picking grass for his bed. Sitaki rolled her eyes. She didn't even respond to his comment, that would mean spitting out the grass in her mouth and then being forced to pick more of the nasty-tasting stuff. No thanks.
She exhaled loudly, hoping he was done p***y-footing around in the leaves so that they could return to the cave and get situated. She really was rather exhausted -- becoming a slave was never easy -- although returning to the cave of lions didn't sound utterly appealing. She would have to ask him why he didn't sleep outside.

He grabbed the large pile of leaves he had collected in his mouth and headed down the dangerously steep path that led to the jaw. He had fallen down it as a cub, but only once. Now he knew it as well as he knew every other foot of land in this pride. Except for the hidden places, where they hid their cubs and plotted the Ligi and the Shatkona's deaths.
He went into the jaw, dropping the leaves next to his--her bed. A few knowing laughs lit the room and he gave them a bland smirk in reply.
