i dunno if its a mommy craft exaxtly, but im making sean a puppet theter right now and using this paint i found that makes anysurface chalkboard. I plan to decorate with frogs and mushrooms and dragonflys and gnomes and storybook crittters. I thinking paing nursery furniture(i painted his bookshelf with stars and moon) and neat playful furniture for kids rooms is a kinda mommy thing i guess.

well I'm entering the phase of momy crafting too... since we're planning on trying this summer, i'm trying to get a head start. I'm making my own nursery set... the quilt, the bumper, the window valance, a mobile, and some boppy pillow slip covers to go with my whole baby bee theme. I'm just hoping I don't jinx myself by starting before we ever even get pg. I'd hate to make all this and find out I couldn't have kids... but everyone in my family is VERY fertile!: blaugh
I'm also working on a christmas stocking for our puppy and probably need to start on a stocking for our first baby too! Our family stockings were all handmade with quilted fabric and have felt shapes covered with sequins and beads all hand sewn on. Mine is 3 christmas trees, my brother's is 3 bells, my sister's is 3 poinsettas, and when we got married my mom and i made one for my husband with 3 wreaths on it. Now I'm making Penny's shape little doggy bones! I'm thinking about using stars for our baby cause I'm sure the baby will be the star of the show! whee
other than that... scrapbooking! That's another one of the big "mommy crafts" that's gotten more popular in our day than it was back when our parent's had us. I definately plan to make scrapbooks about the pregnancy and the new baby! 4laugh Cause heaven knows I don't have the skill/patience for crocetting! sp?

I crochet. My mom started me out on crocheting the edge on hemstitched flannel blankets, and that's still most of the crochet I do. Though I have made a couple of baby afghans, and I'm working on an afghan for my father-in-law (late Christmas present sweatdrop ). My mom tried to show me how to knit, but, at least for me, that's much harder than crocheting. So that's not something I can add to my list of "Mommy crafts"
Being Mommy to a little girl I learned to make bows and bracelets for my daughter. I can make them cheaper and BETTER than I can buy them. Even before I made bracelets for my daughter though I was into jewelery making.
I managed to sew some SIMPLE curtains for the nursery, but in general I'm not much into sewing.

yeah i'm sure I could crochet if I got into it, but it's not really the kinda thing I'm interested in. I'm more of a power tools kinda girl (ex. I got a compund miter saw, an 18volt cordless drill, and a stud finder for christmas!) I'm hoping to get the sewing machine pretty soon. I mostly stick to simple stuff like pillows and curtains (anything that's squarish or very simple piecing) So this whole Boppy pillow thing is gonna be interesting cause it's a little more complicated. Anyway... I'm on my way to mom and dad's house for a couple of days! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Unless it comes in a box with derctions(sp?), though I can bake (thanks to my Dad, I just wish he was still around around to teach me to cook) but I can't decoraite things (like cakes and cookies).
Car's are a passion of mine, thanks to my Ex. When I finally do go back to school it's going to be for cars (I'm note sure if I want Auto body, or repairs yet) then again if all go's well in dew time I might take the other classes as well. I can do a good deal of carpentry, but not much with eletrical things (Lights and what not).

awwww, you didnt get the blanket done? Are you close at all? I'm over half way done. What I didn't realize is that a full-sized afghan takes a LOT More time than even a baby afghan does. rolleyes I'm so bad about things if it wasn't for the fact that it's supposed to be his Christmas present I'd porbalby just leave it alone for a few months (or more) and come back to it. I do that with so many of my hobbies. I'll really get into it for a while, then I get bored with it and leave it to do until later.

yay... my first official mommy projects all went well and are done! I made two Boppy Pillow covers with my mom's guidance and her sewing machine this weekend. I finished sewing the sequin stripes on the bottom of my little beany baby bee (the first of 4) for my mobile, AND I finished sewing the sequins on my felt doggy bone (the first of 3) for my dog's stocking. I have two more bones to work on while I wait for the other 3 bees to come in the mail (got them on e-bay) and then I can also start working on the stars for the baby's stocking.
Krimsonnox - I think the cape is a great idea! I'm sure he'll love it, cause what little boy doesn't love a super hero cape?! I mean, even my 20 year old brother does! Hehehe... we were fighting for use of my mom's sewing machine this weekend cause he's working on his Renisance Fair costume. He was making his 3-musketeers style cloak. My mom just about fainted cause she couldn't believe that two of her children were fighting over the sewing machine! But yeah... I am trying to unlock those magical mommy super powers too rofl
