The smallish lioness flopped down on her side, flicking her tail around to the side. She was in a den that her and Rowtag were wandered into not that long ago. It was close to the pride that she was heading toward for a while. She was used to hanging out with the male now, it wasn't that long since he started hanging out with him, maybe a week or so. He was interesting and she wasn't sure why she was still hanging around. At least it was some company that she enjoyed. She looked around to the slightly more dense amount of trees and smiled it was nice here. She was wondering what was going to happen when they got closer to the pride, she was wondering where he would go. She knew that she told him about it before.
She shrugged for a moment before scooting forward toward the front of the den, looking around as she did. She was curious about where he went to. she had just woekn up not that long ago and got some water and just now came back not that long ago. She was happy to be able to relax for a little while, she was really enjoying the shade for today, t was quiet and nice and she knew that is was going to be a good day from here. But she really was wondering where that male had gone to. She wasn't really sure at the moment.
She was really beginning to miss her family and even though she was enjoying her time wandering she really wanted to see them again.

Rowtag was licking his wounds not far from the den, stretched out under the full sun. He craved the brilliant heat of the desert, the softness of sand underfoot. He missed it and missed it dearly. Yet, somehow, he was already forgetting it. How was that possible? He'd spent his whole life there and yet...
He was struggling to recall the feeling of sand in his fur and the way the dunes draped across the landscape, compressing under the weight of those who passed over them.
His next step had not yet been decided. In fact he seemed unable to make any decisions or any sensible suggestion as to what he might do. He seemed to be stuck in limbo, trying to reclaim his lost life but losing more and more of it to his traumatised brain. A sad situation to be in, to be sure.

Miw stretched herself out even more before getting the scent of the male, he really wasn't that far away. She was surprised. She stood up and trotted over to him a large smile was on her face. "Good morning Rowtag!" she chirped brightly before flopping down by his side and rolling over on her back looking up at the sky. "What are you doing?" she asked curiously once she laid there.
"Are you feeling okay today?" she asked curiously, this was a constant question she asked him, she could imagine him getting pretty annoyed at her but at the same time she didn't mind, she knew there was plenty of times where she annoyed others but she really didn't care she had fun with her life and she was caring, some others couldn't say that.

He gave a short growl and turned his head to look at her. "Stupid question, Zii." Wait. That wasn't her name, was it? No? Oh well... "No. No I'm not feeling good. I can't remember things. So, what are you going to do? Fix my head?"
He lurched his head back around and fixed his eyes on the weird, green landscape. Gold. He wanted to see gold. If he squinted he could almost imagine it. The heat wavering the landscape, the stretching arms of cacti. The low, warning hiss of a snake. Ah yes, that was familiar. The corner of his mouth twitched up and he added. "Do you see that? My home. How did we end up here?" He startled. "Are you leading me back? I told you. I can't go back there. Do you want to see me dead? Is that it?" He got back to his paws, fur bristling. "You tricky little beast."

[Miw shook her head for a moment before sighing. He thought she was Zii again, it was going to be one of those days, oh my. She shook her hair out of her eyes before speaking to him. "I can't do that Rowtag." She almost spat his name slightly annoyed, but she knew she had to calm down. "Look, I'm just trying to help." She rolled her eyes as she sat up as sitting next to him. He really wasn't too sure of what to say to him, she was going to try to figure out how to handle this.
"No, we're in the forest, it's not near your home." She growled at him before nudging him gently. "Look around, trees, plants and there is dirt under your paws." She shook her head again before huffing shaking her head at him. "NO." She was getting frustrated, she normally didn't, she was normally happy and up beat but right now she wasn't sure what to do or what to say. "Will you calm down. You're fine and I'm not leading you're back." She shook her head again, she wanted to knock some sense into him, or go knock out the ones that did this to him so she wouldn't have to knock sense into him. But he was much bigger then her and she knew it was not a good idea to do that.

He blinked and the desert faded. Dirt. Trees. Plants. No sand or snakes or blazing, burning sun. He looked upwards and wondered if it was just him or whether the sky looked different out there. If he noticed the other's irritation, he didn't give any sign. He snorted and snapped his eyes down to look at her.
"I am calm." He replied, seeing Miw-Sher for who she was and not for the white lioness he loved. "Why are you still here anyway?" He blinked. "I don't know you and you don't know me. We are not of kin. I always thought rogues looked after themselves and no other. Smarter that way. Foolish to trust in strangers."
He paused, pondering. "Which makes you a fool...and me one, too."

Miw paused and shook her head she could see the male calming down and she knew that she could too. She watched him and kept quiet for a moment not too sure of what to say to him before she spoke again. "Now you're calm." She chuckled some then flicked her hair out of her eyes and lifted a paw and cleaned it. Why was she still there? She wasn't really too sure.
"Well..." she started before laughing slightly, his other comments were funny to her that wasn't very true to her anyway. "Nah, not to me." She shook her head again. "I enjoy company, beside if you were going to hurt me you already would have." She nodded at the idea before speaking again. "I'm here because I still can be." She smiled again nodding at the idea before speaking again. "I don't think I'm being that foolish, I mean... at least I'm doing something that I like to do, I like helping others and... when you're in a good mood you're pretty nice."
She grinned ear to ear before speaking again, "well then I guess it's good not to be fools by ourselves." she mentioned with and chuckling again.

She was weird. There was nothing else to it. Why she stuck around was beyond him. No one could like helping someone who wasn't appreciative of it! "I could hurt you if I wished it. Easily, too. You'd be no match for me. Rogues are made small and weak." He huffed. "That's what my family used to believe before they were forced to retract the statement of be thrown out."
Was it really that long ago when he had been a prince? A young, volatile little Firekin who had no true idea of what had gone on before him.
"But that doesn't matter. I need to live here now. You are...a rogue yes? Well, since you wish to stay and be a bother, how about showing me the ropes? That way I can sooner be on my way and by myself."

Miw couldn't help but to laugh some and then shook her head. "Oh no, I'm just small and weak trust me." She knew she was smaller then the normal lion, it was pretty true, she couldn't deny it but not everyone was she saw some really big rogues over her life time. She then sat back on her haunches and laughed again shaking her head. "Well, if you were going to hurt me you would have done that already." She nodded at him she was pretty sure he would have already, whether accidentally or purposely.
She then flicked her hair out of her eyes and perked up. "well... I'm leading you to a pride my family moved into... I mean you don't have to keep following me but I need to get closer so my family doesn't think I died or something." She crinkled her face at the idea, she knew that wouldn't be good she didn't want to worry her parents. "I don't know If I can let you be on your own with those mood swings sir." She commented as she lifted a paw and tapped his head very lightly shaking her head as she did. "I don't know if that would be good, I don't want you to get hurt."

The lion snorted angrily. Him? Get hurt? Who did she think he was!? "Nothing can hurt me." He snapped, waving a dismissive paw and then half-turning from her as if thinking about leaving - though they probably both knew this wasn't going to happen.
"Wait. Pride? Which pride? I didn't give you permission to lead me anywhere!" Wait, had he? No, he really didn't think he had! "I thought you were a rogue. You liar!!"
Yep...he certainly did have mood swings...

Miw shook her head again at the male and then motioned toward his wounds. "You obviously can Rowtag." she pointed out, even though he had his moments and was very unpredictable but she knew that on the inside he had to have some kind of sweet bone. Didn't everyone? She was just a little confused because of that but at the same time she was pretty happy. She calmed herself down enough and she was hoping that she was going to keep staying calm.
"Calm, down, calm down." She huffed shaking her head again. "I am a rogue at the moment." She shook her head before speaking to him once more. "I'm going to be joining a pride, my parents are there but I'm not yet." She nodded again before she motioned with her paw toward him. "It's called the Kizingo'zaa." She nodded then flicked her hair out of her eyes as he looked at her. "I am not lying to you, I don't have a reason to." She pointed out to him and then nodded again. "I'm only leading you there because I need to stay on schedule." she chuckled again before patting his mane. "You know you have quite a temper sir." She tapped her foot a few times as if she was tsking him.

He made a gruff face, still clearly angry, but battling to keep it at bay. His tail thrashed but his ears were pinned back in submission, accepting what she said.
"Prides..." He felt the pang of loss and betrayal and...and it all felt so horrible. If he joined another pride, the same thing would happen. He'd make a promise he couldn't keep. He'd carry out a horrible deed and...and there'd be death and loss and Zii would stare at him with those eyes.
Those sad, beautiful eyes...
"Fine. Go to your pride, woman, I'll follow you for a bit, but when you get there, I'll go my own way."

Miw was slightly amused by the male's reaction but she couldn't help but to smile and lean closer to him. She licked the side of his face before giggling some then flopped down next to the male again. "Come, come now." She shook her head at him and beamed laying in front of him and looking him in the eye. "Don't be grumpy, and beside you never know. A pride might be a good way to start over. I think everyone needs a second chance." She pointed out thoughtfully with the nod and then looked up at the sky before back at him. "You never know whats going to happen."
She perked up again before pawing at him and standing up. "Come on. Come with me to the water." She flicked her tail and looked at him again giggling a little. "Lets go cool off for a little." She giggled a little once again and then nodded again. "We can go and get ourselves meal afterward." She winked at him. "My treat." She didn't like him being all upset and she was going to insist on him cheering up. She didn't know what he did in his past but she wanted to know but not only that she wanted to make sure that he was going to have a good time with her no matter what.

The lick startled him and he was transported back again into his memories. She was...she was Zii. Soft, fire-eyed Zii. He took a step towards her and then thought better of it, shaking his head fiercely from side to side. "No." Rowtag insisted. "No second chances."
He trailed as she invited him along to the water and tilted his head curiously as she giggled, cub-like. With a low growl he lowered his head and trudged after her. He didn't seem overly happy about it, but neither did he seem intent on staying behind.
She was...she was...
He shook his head, disturbed by his muddled thoughts and not knowing whether he'd ever be able to make sense of them.
