User Image It was the early morning. Everything was peaceful, quiet, calm. Though, it wasn't going to stay that way for long. They were sleeping, unexpected victims of a male lion who was slowly creeping up on them. Cubs and parents oblivious to the presence of a killer. The morning was cold, and the sun was slowly coming up, but it was still dark. Song birds of the morning could be heard in the distance, but nothing that would weak the sleeping family.

Just as one cub opened her eyes, she saw him jump A lion out of nowhere... She screamed, heart beating Natintrapa opened her eyes from the nightmare that played over and over in her mind. Though, that was the only thing that did. Her past kept coming to her in her dreams. More now then ever. Why? Why was it haunting her again? She looked around and noticed she had woken Urza who was sleeping next to her. He had been such a good friend so far. He was kind and gentle.

She was starting to feel something for him, but didn't want to admit it. Her heart was still beating fast. She smiled at him with a apology on it. This wasn't the first time she had woken him up from her night mares. Though, she had yet to tell him what they were about. He never asked. He was good at not asking on things that she didn't want to talk about. It was like he knew that she didn't want to talk about them. “Sorry”

Urza was concerned for her, though he noticed she didn't seem comfortable with telling him just yet. He wanted her to trust him, and bugging her about stuff wasn't going to be the way. He cared for her more then he had cared for anyone. It was strange, he'd never felt this way before, yet he was happy. Happy to have her, regardless of what she thought of him. He'd have to ask her what she felt in time, but for now it was okay the way it was. She needed a friend. Nothing more serious.

He couldn't say he wasn't curious about the nightmares she held, or the reason behind her always looking behind her. There was a secret there, a secret she was too frightened to tell him. But what? He couldn't begin to guess, nor would he. He wanted her to tell him, but waited for it to come. If it never did, then he would just think it was a habit of some type. He also wondered why she didn't like staying in an area more then one day. Not that that bothered him at all. He was the same way for the moment. Yet he wanted a place where he didn't have to leave eventually. But for now, he was just happy to be with her. “Another nightmare?” He asked her.

He moved closer to her in case she wanted some sort of body next to her. To comfort and cuddle. Today he figured they'd be leaving this spot again. They had made a promise to each other to try to start over and do stuff they hadn't before. Though, they weren't sure what that might be yet. Natintrapa had told him she had found out some games they could play to pass time and be fun, but so far they hadn't tried them yet. She said she was waiting for a good time. For now, they were getting to know each other. At least, most of each other.

She nodded. “I'm sorry” She said again as he moved closer to her. The sun was up, and getting warm. It was time they got up anyways, perhaps her nightmare was good timing in a sense of it. She didn't know. He moved closer to her and she rested her head on his side. “I didn't mean to wake you” She said again. Her heart had finally slowed to it's normal beat. She was happy that Urza was with her. She could sleep longer then she normally did. He put her mind at ease at times. Though, she didn't want to get too comfortable. No matter what, it was best not to ever let her guard down. She wanted to forget her past, yet she knew it'd catch up with her again.

There was no doubt about that. She sighed. “It wasn't as bad as normal” She lied. She didn't want him to worry. She didn't want him to ask about it. She just wanted it to go away. To be happy here, with Urza. Though, she knew what would happen if she got too happy and comfortable. Things would happen, repeat themselves. She didn't want that to happen either. God! Why her? Why? She smiled at him, a half fake smile. “I'm better now” Another lie, but she knew how to lie good. She never wanted to get close to another, not after what happened before. It was best to be alone, but she had an urge to be with someone.

She had once hoped she'd never find someone, and now she couldn't even imagine thinking that. Even if her heart ached from the past, he calmed the aching more then she could have ever imagined. Which made her want to cry and tell him everything. But this wasn't the time. He'd sure freak out and leave her if she did. She calmed down faster then she had expected, but Urza.... She didn't know how to explain it. She let the smile linger on her face for a few moments. “Today, we should find another spot to stay for a few days.” She suggested. It seemed innocent enough at the time, though her true intentions where another thing more serious
.

He knew it was coming, but he didn't argue with her. He nodded his head. “You're right.” He had noticed her nightmares got worse the longer they stayed somewhere. He wondered if that's why she couldn't stay in a spot for too long? He didn't ask. “We could find somewhere close to some water.” He told her with a nod. She had mentioned one of the things she wanted to show him involved water. He supposed that'd be a good reason to make her show him something she wanted.

He tapped his tail on the ground letting her relax a bit. “And don't be sorry, I'm glad to be here when you wake to show you that everything is okay.” He said with a nod. So, it sounded a little corny, but at least it was the truth. Maybe she'd notice he cared for her more then just a friend, but he wasn't going to point that out to her. Not until he knew she was ready for it. Maybe not for a while, maybe sooner then he could guess. No matter, that wasn't important at the moment.

“Are you hungry?” He asked her. He was, but he wasn't going to hunt until she was. She had a problem with killing stuff for no reason. So, it was best to make sure they both were hungry, that way he wasn't wasting anything. He never asked why she hated it, never asked why she said no hunting young things either. Though, he kind understood. It wasn't right to kill baby things, and was not right to kill something for no reason. She had a good heart, that was for sure. A good troubled heart.

She hadn't realized she was hungry, but she didn't want him to leave her for the moment. Didn't want to be alone. She lied. “No, not at the moment.” She wasn't that hungry anyways. They could always find a meal on the way to their new spot. They were, after all, going by water. “And finding water sounds like a great idea.” Yes, anywhere but here. She could feel something, like someone was following her. She lifted up her head from his shoulders to glance around the area. She relaxed when she couldn't see anyone or anything. Except a few birds in the distance hopping from one tree to the next.

“Though, I wouldn't mind a walking now” She said as she slowly got to her feet. Of course, she didn't want to seem like she was rushing out of here, but she couldn't help it. She wanted to be as far away from here as possible. Maybe even a days walk away. Though, she knew that the water around here was closer then that. She could smell it in the distance. Though, it wasn't as close as it smelled. The wind was blowing towards them, so it could be miles away. Which was perfect in her mind. She felt like she was on the run always. Always running away from the past that haunted her.

Maybe one day she'll run far enough that it'll be gone forever. She smiled at him. “If you're up for it, anyways.” She said with a raise of her brown. Almost daring him to say no. More like a challenge then a offer. She could make this into a game to seem like she's having fun. “Or is it too far for you, today?” she said with a challenging playful voice. Maybe he'd forget about her dream. Or she could forget about it. “Care for a little race?”

He'd never heard her ask for a race before. This would be exciting. He raised a brow at her. “A race you say?” He hadn't had a good race in who knows how long. He sure didn't. He flicked his tail and eyed her for a moment.”I'm sure I could manage if that's what you wish to do.” He said with a playful smile. He wasn't use to this odd little spark of hers. He rose to his feet and nodded at her. “I think I could be up for a little run, though I might be old and slow” He told her with a chuckle.

He wasn't as young as he use to be. He was sure he couldn't keep up like he use to be. Though, he still enjoyed a good run. Especially when it was with someone else. “Shall we start? Do you want to count?” He asked her with a raised brow. Would only be right ask her if she wanted to since she asked him about it. As well as who ever counted got the advantage. Though, it wasn't like it didn't matter to him. He smiled at her.

“Naturally” She replied to his asking her to count. She was the one that suggested it, she was the one that was gonna count. Plus, it did give her an edge to it. All thoughts about her nightmare now behind her for the moment. Exactly what she wanted. She gave a wink at him. “Get ready” She said as she moved into position next to him. He seemed to be as ready as she. Though, she was more ready to get out of this area then anything. “One.” She started to count slowly. Bracing herself. “Two” She got down lower, in a sprinting position, she noticed that he did the same. While watching her from the corner of his eye like she was doing with him. 'THREE!” She yelled as she bolted away from him. He followed.
