No, this won't be a plot full of charismatically designed puns and sunglasses. But instead, a plot of a long, long, okay maybe not so long, journey.
...but the problem was. Where to start? Pierre thought hard. Prisca hasn't given indication on where she'd found the device. So, he couldn't start at the scene of the crime. But getting out of the city was an idea.
...HOWEVER. For most of his... pack, he'd like to call it, this would be the first time out in the huge city. As normally they'd just magically appeared at the store. He looked right and left, Net still at his side, and began towards, what he believed, to be the way OUT of the city.
...little did anyone know. Pierre SUCKED at direction.
"And we're walking... walking... and more walking... and... I don't remember this alley way being so long." Pierre hmmm'd, and looked around. There was still light at the end, and he could see... something, but it really didn't look like the Harbor...
Oh boy...

Happily eating the sandwich that was now her salvation, well only jokingly sure, she blinked from her spot beside the Persian. Though they had chatted the few times she'd come in she didn't know much about him. Or his lacking sense of direction. When he paused to look around, her ears perked up as if listening for something, then she sighed.
"Pierre... Did you get us lost?"
This, of course, was said around bites of food as she made sure not to speak with her mouth open. She would not be so rude as to do such a thing, especially in public. Speaking of public she glanced around behind them to see who all had followed. It was always good to assess the strengths and weaknesses of a group to see who was more valuable where.
Hopefully for this there would be a good spread of abilities and such, should they come across what they were looking for.

Pierre chuckled nervously. "No! Not at all! I know this city like the back of my hand!"
Yeah. Right. Just fess up you lyin' cat. Pierre stared down the alley, and looked behind him. Did they take a wrong turn somewhere? No... couldn't be. Could it? Pierre sighed, looking to Net, who was chewing happily on that sandwich, happier than any mew he'd ever seen. Sighed and nodded. "Mayhaps?"
Insert cheesy apologetic grin.

A'ala exits the restaurant a few moments after them, and walks quickly to catch up with them, feeling a bit awkward around these new people. It could be worse she told herself. she cocked an eyebrow at Pierre " um... you know your going the wrong way... right?"

Following behind the rest, Celeste gave a soft sigh, her wings rustling as they shifted against her back for comfort. Really, were there no adults here?
Hmm...
Well, anyway.
"Err, if I may ask, where is it exactly that we're trying to go? Perhaps I might be of some assistance?" If nothing else, perhaps the Pidgeot child might manage to get high enough to look around from the sky, if necessary. She didn't try to fly often, and she could manage it, but it was rather tiring at her young age. She needed more practice and she knew it, but with time, surely it would get easier. At least her small form was relatively light, which did make it a bit easier. She just needed to work on endurance, really.

Something Appears! With Prisca not watching her tracking device, there was no way to predict the mysterious Pokemon had moved from the desert to the city. The reason was as mysterious as the 'experiment' itself, though it didn't appear to be looking for anything. It stood at the top of a building, gazing around with those menacing red eyes of its. It focused on the group below for a bit, not moving from its position on the roof.

Looking behind him, at the Pidgeot, he frowned. "I really don't know. Aha..." He was about to answer to offer to help before something caught his attention.
He looked around, feeling his tail twitch and the hair stand up on end. "Something's... watching us..."

Net had been about to offer to help find their point of reference when something played on the edge of her senses and her gaze shot up. Blue eyes went wide and she looked up. She wasn't sure why she did, but she had and there was something up there, looking at them.
"Up there, on the roof!" she squeaked out, blushing at how lame her words had sounded. She swallowed harshly, ears back against her head. "What is it?"
Instinct said to throw up a barrier, protect Pierre and the small group with them, but as of yet it didn't seem to be a threat. Menacing gazes didn't mean too terribly much unless there was a menacing action to go with it. But she was on guard, ready to protect every one if she needed to.

A'alas gaze followed nets to the roof of a building " whoa... what on earth is that?!" she said with a grimace, it was a strange looking thing... and it scared her, she NEVER got scared, she had never seen something like it before, pushing back her fear " um... is it just me, or is that thing staring at us?"

At the shout, Celeste's keen eyes shifted, focusing upward at the previously undetected watcher. The young Pidgeot was seized with uncontrollable panic at the sight, and with the exception of maybe Pierre, she had likely the sharpest eyes here tonight. She got a perfect view of exactly what was watching them, even if she couldn't identify the creature.
Riding the wave of panic, she let out a sharp trill, darting behind Net instinctively. She'd berate herself later for her cowardly actions, but for now, instinct told her that the kind young woman was a source of protection. Heart pounding within her chest, she struggled to control her phobic reaction, but to no avail at the moment.
Yes, the creature was terrifying in its own right, she could see that much in the others' reactions to it.
But why did it have to be a bug?

The purple Pokemon on the rooftops took a moment to look around it. Like it was looking for something. It ignored the group below for a while to favor the direction of the desert to the north. One had to wonder what was in that direction that had kept it there for so long.
It made a rough sound in its throat as it turned back to the group. The cannon on its back lit up, indicating there was an attack coming just around the corner. Without moving from its perch, it lowered the cannon and let lose a blast towards the PokeHuman below.

Net had been watching it carefully, wary for what it might do because they had no idea what it could do. The wariness faded only slightly when it seemed busy with other things, attention elsewhere. The question was, where was it's gaze?
Curiousity got the better of her and, before Pierre could say anything, she floated upwards to try and see where it was looking. Maybe it had a clue to this pokemon and its intentions? Or maybe a clue about what it was, that would be nice.
Her senses were on high alert when it made a noise, eyes wide when the canon lit up. Oh no. Worry and panic were her key motivators as she turned to try and set up a barrier around the pokehumes on the ground as it's attack went off. She didn't know if it would work, how long had it been since she'd used her barrier for more then herself?, or if it would even set up in time but it didn't stop her from trying.
She wouldn't let them get hit if she could help it, they were hers at this moment and that was all that mattered.

The hair stood on Pierre's tail as the pokemon turned it's back on then, and then fired, what Pierre guess was canons. Net had floated up, to get a closet look, but instantly realized was a bad idea and was now trying to toss up a barrier. Pierre sensed she was struggling, threw all caution to the win, jumped up, grabbed her, and tossed up his own barrier to fill in the parts where she couldn't reach.
"Get behind us!" Pierre yelled, voice strained, as he was trying to concentrate, not realizing his arms was still around Net.

A'ala's face paled as the creature started to attack, her attention was attracted by the Mew and the Persian who were creating a barrier. Usually the feisty Torchic would have scoffed at the thought of being protected, but at this moment she decided it was best. She hurried over to stand behind them, feeling weak and pathetic as she did so but recognizing that if she didn't she might not have the chance to prove her strength later

The barrier went up, not completely, but it went up and it was more then she could hope for. If they lived through this she was going to work on getting her psychic abilities back to the strength they had once been at. Never again would her powers be so weak and useless.
Expecting to not be able to have time to get down to the ground, the mew let out a surprised noise when she was grabbed by the psychic cat and brought down to be protected as well. Together they could bolster their powers, feed from one another, and create a barrier that should (maybe) hold against the attack.
If she was aware of Pierre's hold on her still she didn't show it, but she did curl closer to the Persian as they worked. As for the Torchic, her tail wrapped protectively around her. She wasn't useless and, in fact, was a help because she was an anchor. She was a reason to protect and (possibly) fight against the pokemon that thought of them as a threat. The Pidgeot was much the same.
