His leg was throbbing from his fight days ago. His muzzle was scabbed up, probably going to scar, his flanks were littered in tiny cuts from her claws. The victor wasn't really clear in his mind anymore. Jagat, the brightly colored, muscular male limped as he patrolled the boarders. He had a feeling that female was still out here somewhere, waiting to pounce. There was no way he would let her get that close to the pride again. She was certifiable!
Hell, he didn't even know her name. She had just upped and attacked him. He growled at that thought, tail flicking this way and that before he stopped there and sat down, licking his ankle a few times, as if that would help the bone at all.Tichaona sauntered along the land, unknowing of the pride that lived close nearby. Land was land and his for the taking in his mind. Not that he'd start a fight for it, but if it was unclaimed... well... It'd be tempting. But the king wasn't looking for land today, no. He was more interested in finding the gentler gender and whippin' up some heirs.
But unfortunately for him, the scent he caught on the wind was of a male. He sighed and shrugged, continuing on his walk. Maybe this male had some sisters or daughters that Tichaona could take off of his hands. Or he could at least tell him where he was. The lion made a habit of trying to stay off pride lands when he was confronted with male guards. Female guards, well, he usually tried to get them to come with him.He wasn't on pride lands, not yet. Jagat was just outside of the pride scent marks, but that was alright. He'd fight, injured and all, just the same as if he was fighting on pride soil. That is, if this new scent wanted a fight. He sniffed the air, closing his eyes and then opened them to spot a dark male approaching. His light mane sticking out like a sore thumb. That's when Jagat climbed to his feet again, keeping the weight off of his foot.
" .......You're aweful close to a pride, my unknown friend. Are you a threat or are you just passing by?" It was impossible to read this other male, since he was so far away. He couldn't sense anything, couldn't smell any emotions. Huh.

Nnnngh. Tichaona looked at the bright orange male with his usual, disinterested expression. He didn't think he was on pride lands and was reassured when the male said he was not.
He let out a sigh. He didn't think this male would be willing to hand over any females to him- not today. Tichaona wasn't worried for his own safety, no. Everything about him said "I'm a strong, healthy male. I'd like to see you try and take me on." Although he didn't really want others to try and take him on, because he wanted to keep looking that way, not like a roughed up and stupid brute.
And this brute... well... "I'm just passing by. I'm looking for a friend of mine, you see." He gave Jagart a fake smile and hardly slowed to talk to him."..... A friend of yours, eh? What do they look like? I've seen a lot of others these past couple of days." He stayed on alert as the other neared him and spoke. There was a tension in the air, but he wasn't going to act on it unless there was a reason. Like with the nameless female. She pounced first, he retaliated and fought for his life. He did, however relax enough to sit back down.
"Who are you? Where do you come from?" The usual questions spilled from his mouth without much thought."Oh, they're brown. Nothing remarkable." He shrugged. He'd only told the lie to give the appearance of some purpose for wandering. He reasoned that it would give the male less reason to distrust him or to be suspicious.
"Me? I'm Tichaona. I have my own pride a ways away from here. I'm just worried about my friend, you see. They've been gone for a while." He eyed the lion to see how he was nervous. He didn't really see himself as a threat. But it ruffled his feathers in a way that didn't sit well with him.

Brown. That was all that this male could use to discribe this friend? Whatever, it was clear that the male, Tich, didn't want to reveal this friend. He couldn't help at all in that situation. Still, he was going to talk to this guy to get a feel for him. "Tichaona, hm? I'm Jagat. I'm curious, Tich, if i can call you that, and I want to inquire about your pride, if I can."
He grinned at that, red eyes reading all confidence and comfortability. It would seem that nothing was going to happen with this male.
Tichaona shrugged "Sure, if you'd like to." He blinked lazily and looked off in the distance towards his pride and shined some of his claws against his thick mane. "Well, I'm the king of this pride. It's a sort of band of families. No males are allowed to join unless they're bringing their family and we... encourage... males to leave and strike out on their own when they come of age." There wasn't really much he could think of to say about the pride. Beside that it was his. And he was king. And he left out his co-ruler, but that was a detail that Jagat didn't need to know.
He looked at all of the injuries on Jagat and it was then his turn to ask the questions. "And what happened to you?" He raised an eyebrow and gave him a look.
He heard of that pride and didn't take kindly to what he heard. Basically, there have been kidnappings because of the males heading to that pride. It did not sit well with this lion at all, that one of them was coming near here. He got to his paws and looked over the male before clearly showing his distaste for the male. "Don't stay in these lands too long. You're pride's kid are not welcome here. You're not to touch, or talk, to any female that may come up to the boarder."
He had two sisters in this pride, and a mother. He'd be a fool if he wasn't going to escort this male away. "I got into a fight with a female. I don't know her name, but she just came at me and I protected myself and this pride. ....I'm going to escort you away, friend. I'm sorry, but you can't stay near here."

Tichaona was quite offended. He was taken aback and startled. Not many people had heard of his pride this far beyond its borders. He scowled at Jagat and threw up his head. "Don't even bother." He sneered at the male with disgust. How dare a male beaten by a female try and talk to him like that. He's a king.
He turned his back on the male, not fearing any strike or retaliation and with his head held high walked away. How dare he. How dare he?! Tichaona threw a dirty look over his shoulder and traveled on, hoping for better luck further down the road.
The end.
