[This is the BPG riddles thread. So if you love riddles (solving them or making them), then stick around!
I haven't thought of a riddle yet, but if someone else wants to kick things off, be my guest! 4laugh ] [RULES]
IMPORTANT: Riddles don't have to be original, but try not to "steal" someone else's original riddles. You can invite that person to post it themselves (if they are a Gaia user and posted their riddle on Gaia), or you can ask their permission and give credit to them in your post. 3nodding
So far, I am the only judge. If another is needed, I will appoint one. I will decide if a riddle is too difficult or if/when the answer should just be given.
If clues are needed just ask the current riddler for one, and they will decide if they want to or can provide a clue.
Only one riddle at a time!!
Whomever guesses the current riddle gets to either make a new riddle, or declare an open mic.
Not all riddles rhyme; some can be stories, some can be made RP-style, where everyone gets to participate; some can be puzzles or games. Be creative!
PLEASE don't just go to a riddle website and copy a really well-known riddle and paste it here. Try to be original or different. 3nodding Or at least go for riddles that aren't so well-known.

This is one I found on another site that stumped me for a while. Quote: This is a logic puzzle challenge... there are three men on the island, and they know they are painted with red or blue on their faces, but they don't know which color. And as soon as they know their face is blue, they have to kill themselves the next morning. 1. They don't tell each other, what color their faces are, and there are no mirror, can't look into water..etc etc.. 2. They all have blue faces, but they don't know that. They only know their faces are either red or blue. 3. One day a delivery guy came, and give them one clue. " At least one of you has blue face." 4. After the 3rd morning, they are all dead" The question is: How do each of them figures out that they have blue face?

[Only thing I can say is: that's why riddles have such a wide appeal; different people look at things differently and have different thought processes, so for some people it may be obvious, while for others, like me, it's impossible to figure out. xp ] []

[Okay, I'll take a guess, but I know I'll be wrong. xp
Um...let's see. On the day the delivery guy came and gave them the clue, they all killed themselves because each guy can see that the 2 others have a blue face, so one killed the other and then so on and the last one killed himself...but why?? I dunno. I'll give it more thought. xp ] []

Here's the answer
A thinks the following:
"If my face is red, then B will think the following:
'If my face is red, then C will see 2 red faces, and know that there is a blue face, so it must be his, so he will kill himself on morning 1.'
C didn't kill himself on morning 1, so B will have to assume that his face is blue and kill himself on morning 2.
However, B didn't kill himself on morning 2.
Therefore my initial assumption that my face is red is incorrect, so I will kill myself on morning 3."
The same process of thought can be substituted for all 3 people since they have the same information available.

I actually started to think something along the lines of "one of them will be able to see 2 others with blue faces" but I didn't know where to go with that thought. xp ] []
