 A young colt with bright blue charged through the forest, chasing a figure that only he could see. Urged on by voices only he could hear.
...Faster! You must move faster!...
...It's getting away...
...You have failed...
Skidding to a halt, the colt gasped for breath as his cyan eyes desperately searched for any sign of the figure he had been pursuing. It was hopeless, it was gone. The colt sagged, weighed down by the disappointment in the whispers that he believed to originate from the trees around him.
His young legs shook underneath his weight, demanding that he rest. Even if for just a little bit. So, he did just that. He folded his legs underneath him as he lowered himself to for the ground.
For now, he would rest. And when he awoke, he would seek out a creek and then go from there.

Kali had been sunbathing in her favourite, usual spot in the woods, in a clearing near a small lake. The warm sunlight and peaceful atmosphere had caused her to doze off, so there she lay, her little head nodding gently against her chest. The sound of hooves tearing up the soft ground nearby startled her awake, and she stood up quickly in alarm. Soon she could see a blue-gray blur weaving through the trees, and she started off after it, curious as to what it was and a little worried that there might be trouble near her home. After a short trot, the figure seemed to slow down, then stop, and Kali was able catch up to it at last. She plodded over as quickly as she could, and gazed upon the face of a resting colt.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her brow creased in concern. "I saw you running. I hope the forest isn't on fire or anything!"

"I'm fine," slurred the colt around his gasps for air. His head didn't lift from the ground to see whom had spoken to him. He simply assumed it to be one of the near by trees or bushes. One black ear flicked back in the direction of the voice as he continued, "Just a little winded."
Stands of purple hair that made up his growing tail splayed across the ground, mingling with the grass as he wiggled to get even closer to the coolness of the earth. A giggle bubbled out of the colt's mouth as blades of grass tickled at his belly with each movement. "Did you see where it went?"
