The History of The Dreamer's Glass herd is located in a secluded temperate rainforest valley. In this valley there is a secret cave that is the only place to home the rare luminescent crystal. The crystal is similar to diamond in it's overall appearance, but within it holds a strange substance that gives off a glow. But one stood out from the rest. Formed into a perfected orb, this crystal sat among lush cave plants. When held it was found that the bearer saw things, many things, that where important and if in the wrong hands hooves could cause devastation. It was then called The Dreamer's Glass. The early craftstar made a necklace from which it could hang and was worn by the lead female star, the Sempiterna. Who guarded it with her life and took on the burden of what it showed her. From then on, a female born of the Sempiterna and her consort would be chosen in a special ceremony. She would be the heiress, the one to be the next Sempiterna and would be trained and prepared for when the current Sempiterna passed on. Priests and Priestesses guard the cave which the other crystals reside in. Those in the herd hold the crystal in high esteem and respect its "family". They feel the crystal blesses them and protects them with it's prophesies. Special festivals center around the Dreamer's Glass, among other things. More can be read under "Festivals/Rituals/Rites"

Sempiterna: This is the lead mare of the herd and mate to the Eternus. The Sempiterna is the primary leader of the herd and keeper of the crystal.
Eternus: This is the lead stallion of the herd and mate to the Sempiterna. He is, in truth, the consort of the Sempiterna and can advise her in all matters but may not be placed above her or be the keeper of the crystal.
Heir: The star that is the offspring of the Sempiterna and Eternus who will one day take over the herd. She has to be the offspring of both leaders. Any of the Sempiterna's offspring before the time of the Eternus are not eligible but are royalty none the less. Only a female can inherit the crystal.
Prince: any male offspring born of the Sempiterna.
Princess: any female offspring born of the Sempiterna.
Nobility: Any offspring of the princes and princesses and so forth.
Council
There is one representative for each element. They round out the leadership over the herd and stand in for elements during festivals and rituals. They help the Sempiterna and Eternus meet the needs and deal with issues that arise within the herd.

Priestess: Female stars who help take care of the cavern and the pedestals of the elements/shrines.
Priest: Male stars who guard and protect the cavern and shrines.
Other Members:
Artisans: Those that sing, dance, create.
Story-tellers: Stars who pass down the stories of the herd.
Magister: The teachers of the young.
Warrior: Those who patrol the boundaries of the territory and through the territory. They help keep the peace but also protect as well.
Healers: They use the art of herbology and mixing of compounds to heal those who are injured or sick.
Providers: Farmers, gatherers, hunters.
Youngster: Foals and teens of the herd.

Festivals/Rituals/Rites
Rite of Birth - New parents present their foal(s) to the Sempiterna. She places the Dreamer's Glass on the foal(s) forehead and blesses them. The Dreamer's Glass then becomes familiar with that foal. It is also important to do this Rite with new members who are not born into the herd.
Graduation Festival - When adolescents become adults they have a celebration festival. They all line up to receive their blessing by the Sempiterna and proclaim their place within the herd. Parents and other relatives are the typical attendees but other members of the herd may show up as well. A feast is served, artisans entertain, while the younger stars tend to be found gathered around the story-teller of the evening.
Lifemating Ritual - The dedication of two stars to each other is a very special occasion indeed. As the herd places a importance on family, it is a serious and formal affair. The royal family attends. The couple is lifemated together by the High Priest and Priestess. A feast follows with entertainment. It is also expected that the newly lifemated couple leave early to spend their first night together while the herd continues to celebrate through the night.
Festival of Lanterns - Usually in late summer and lasts a couple days.
Elemental Festivals: During the year, there are seven individual day long festivals where each element is celebrated. Decorations and lanterns in the element's color cover the festival area. There is food and drinks, games, story-telling, dances, etc. The representative of each element is showered in gifts that the representative will then present to the elemental shrine they preside over. Gifts tend to be catered towards the elements themselves.
--Earth: In the spring just after the flowers bloom.
--Air: Late winter when spring just can't come soon enough.
--Fire: In early-mid winter, when it is needed most.
--Water: During summer, when water is much cherished.
--Spirit: During mid fall, as the leaves are changing and falling.
--Light: During the longest day of the year.
--Dark: During the longest night of the year.

Herd Geography Ho~!
Herd Name: Dreamer's Glass
Territory Size: A good comparative size would be the Hoh rainforest in Washington State.
Location: Temperate rainforest valley surrounded on all side by towering hills, it contains a cave network in the hillsides.
Climate: Moderate temperature, wet but has a dry season in the summer
Flora and Fauna: Evergreen trees make up 80% of the tree life, the rest are deciduous, lots of ferns and mosses, patches where there are no trees allows more divers grasses. The fauna is diverse in species of varying size (think of deer to elk, song birds to raptors, frogs and fish, foxes to cougars to bears, etc)
Geological Features: They may feel earthquakes, there is no volcano in their immediate area as the valley is surrounded by hills.
Water Features: Only streams and small to large ponds. Some in the caves too.
Cultural/Political Sites: One cave holds a shrine that is taken care of by select members. There is also a large deciduous tree that is central in the valley where the herd gathers for festivals and such.
Political Borders: I would think, based on rps, that the nearest herd is to the west of them, Moonlight herd.
Other Landmarks: None, just on the outside it looks like a very hilly forest with no easy access except up and over.
