"Library, library... library..." Moa had never been to the library, there wasn't any need. Why go somewhere you hate? She sighed, turning down another corner. Maybe it wasn't that she couldn't find it, but that she didn't want to find it? It sounded enough like the truth. She shivered.
She wouldn't be going now if it wasn't for this stupid paper. Two and a half feet long, and on the history of... umm... oh right, Hogwarts. Seemed simple enough, a rather broad topic, and they were allowed to choose whatever they wanted as long as it fit, the layout of the castle, the founders, the houses... but Moa was having a really hard time. She understood the point, to learn more about her new home, but she couldn't really bring herself to care. She wanted to learn actual magic, not read from a book.
Uggh, books. Moa hated them, and just couldn't understand why people liked them so much. Every time she even tried to read one, the text would bleed together, and her head would start to ache. Books were so... stupid!
Moa turned down another corner and spotted the library immediately. She sighed. There was no way she could even pretend not to have seen it, it was so obvious. Grumbling to herself, she adjusted the strap on her bad and stalked down the hall and into the library. The librarian stared at her as she entered, and Moa began to feel uncomfortable. She hated it here, it was too warm, and dusty, and there were so many books she didn't even know where to start.
"How are you suppose to find anything in here?" She asked herself, looking up at the top shelf of one of the shelves. It nearly reached the ceiling, which was far, far away. She felt small in here, small and useless and dumb. Taking in a deep breath, she tried to find a book she could use, but wandering lost and staring didn't seem to work.

William walked down the rows of books, quietly and quickly pulling books off the shelves. Will loved books, they were more important to him than oxygen. He read books at all hours, and was used to functioning little or no sleep for days. He reached out, grabbing a History of Magic, and adding it to his pile of books, and decided that fourteen books was enough for this week.
Turning a corner, he heard a girl talking, and noticed she looked lost. "Are you okay?" he asked her. If she needed help finding something, he was probably the best person to ask. Will knew where most of the books could be found, even though he had only been at Hogwarts for a month. Most of the teachers liked him, and the other Ravenclaws were very kind and welcoming. He very much enjoyed his new home, and made a point to learn as much as possible about it.

Moa turned around, eyes only briefly falling on the boy who spoke before flitting to the shelves once more. She felt like such a failure, she'd only been in the library a few moments and she was already getting a headache. "Y-yeah..." She said, pushing a hand into her hair. "...I'm fine..." She frowned, tugging at her hair. She was so confused, how did anyone find anything in here? She wasn't even sure where to look, or where to not look, or...
Moa bit her lip, before looking at the boy, noticing the massive amounts of books he carried and his blue and silver tie. Maybe he could help...? Moa closed her eyes again, frustrated, and yanked at her hair once more. "It's just..." She bit her lip again. How would one ask this? "I..." She sighed, looking at the row of books to her left, trying to catch a title. "I'm... I can't... I just... Can you help me?"
This wasn't working. How could he help if he didn't know what she needed. "I have to... there's a history, of this paper... and I have to write... about, um... There's a..." Her free hand was gesturing, as though fishing for the right words. Moa sighed again, frowning. "I need a book. And I don't..." know how to start. Moa looked at him hopefully, though she was unsure if he even knew what she wanted.

Will laughed a little. "The paper on the History of Hogwarts?" he said, smiling. Will just loved being helpful. "This one is your best bet." he handed her A History of Hogwarts, "I suggest skimming the pages, finding a topic you like, and sticking to it." he nodded. "That's what I did." he nodded, turning to the shelves, quickly skimming them as he set his pile of books on a table. Pulling out several books, he told her which subject they were each best for, setting them out on the table for her to see. "This one's good if you want to know about the four founders... " he smiled at Rowena Ravenclaw's portrait that was on the cover. What a wonderful person she must have been. "The triwizard tournament... The black lake... Sorting and sorting hat... What interests ya?" he looked away from the books he had pulled from the shelves, back to the girl. "I'm Will, by the way." he said smiling, holding out his hand to her.

Moa's mouth opened a bit, before closing and acting like a fish. "Y-yeah, that one." She said, releasing her hair to take the book from him. She was surprised he had managed to figure out what she needed, though it might have helped that he was a Ravenclaw; it was said Ravenclaws were very intuitive. Then again, it could have been, and most likely way, because he had to do the paper himself, having the same or similar classes to her own.
Moa looked up at the boy briefly, before cautiously opening the cover, looking for a table of contents, or something similar. Scanning the lists, and having the book in her hands, it didn't seem like it would be too much trouble. While the book was by no means small, she figured that if she only read one topic, she might be able to read the information without giving up.
She started when he began talking again, almost dropping the book at his words. "Y-you mean I've got to read all of these?" She bit her bottom lip, looking over the books he'd laid out. Surely the information in... She glanced down at the cover of the book she held, before looking back at the other ones. Surely the information in A History of Hogwarts would be enough to write her paper.
Moa frowned, how was she suppose to choose from all these books? They were all about the same size, and she was pretty sure there were not any big difference information-wise in them. "I... I guess...." She really couldn't decide, they all looked pretty boring. Well, the black lake seemed pretty interesting, she'd heard there were mermaids in there, and surely other noteworthy creatures. The triwizard tournament, too, sounded a bit fun, as they mentioned it briefly in class, and it sounded like it involved some nice adventures. However, all the books he had set on the table seemed large, and if they were anything like her textbooks, there would not even be stories to attempt to hold her interest.
"I..." She frowned at the books. Why were they being so difficult!? Moa looked over to Will, staring at his hand for a few moments before shifting the book in her grasp to shake his hand. "I'm Moa." She attempted to smile, he was really very nice to try and help her like this, especially since she seemed to need so much of it, but her smile was rather weak. After a short while she took her hand back, pushing some of her hair behind an ear before reaching for one of the books on the table, she'd better choose something after all. "Which do you think would be easiest?" Perhaps that was the wrong choice of words, she didn't need easy, just easy to read, to understand. Moa shook her head. "Which would you choose?" Maybe he could help teach it to her, so she wouldn't have to read it herself. At the very least she might be able to ask him some questions, it seemed like he's answer them.

"No, unless you plan to do your paper on the entire history of Hogwarts." he laughed. "The paper would be alot longer, though" Will smiled at Moa. It had been an easy paper for him, but obviosly she was having problems deciding on what subject to do. "I did mine on Rowena Ravenclaw, but they're all easy if the subject interests you." he nodded. Ravenclaw was his favorite house, and, if you reasearched the family enough, quite a bit of drama attached to her daughter.

Well, that was a relief. There would have been no way she could have read so much. Although two feet wasn't much, she figured she'd need more information than was in the Hogwarts History book she held in her hands.
"I'm not very good with books..." She said to him, as though to apologize for her lack of understanding. Flipping the cover of one of the books, Moa saw a drawing of the lake, and the large squid that lived there. "Oh, pictures..." She put down the book in her hands and picked up the one with the pictures, flipping through the pages until she found another rendering.
"Did you know a lot about her?" She asked, leaning slightly against the table as she examined the image. It was quite good, the picture of some strange creature she'd never seen. Moa didn't know a lot about the four founders, but she didn't think the Rawenclaw founder would make for a good topic, at least not one written by Moa. She glanced at the picture of the Ravenclaw founder. She was rather pretty, Moa thought, but she looked a lot... sharper than the one to the Hufflepuff house. Moa was unsure if she would have liked to do her's on either of them actually, though she was sure their lives were not boring, not if they were powerful enough to make Hogwarts with their magic, but she wasn't sure how much information about their lives she'd be able to read before she moved on to something.
The picture was wonderful, however, and Moa wanted to take that book with her as well because of it. "Do... do you think I could do it on the paintings?" She liked art, especially paintings, and she did want to learn more about them, even though she didn't think books were a good way to learn about them. She wondered if she could ask them herself, she'd heard that they talk, though none of the paintings had talked to her yet.
