Her big brother had told her not to venture there, but she simply knew her curiosity would get the better of her. Champion, who once stood proud as strongest of the strong, had now fallen deep, deep to the thirteenth fiery ring of Hell, Team Rocket's rage. What was to become of him? What had become of him? Why, she wasn't going to pass the opportunity up! She had to see with her very own two eyes!

Len skipped into the brig without a hint of trepidation tinting on her features. Her big brother had told her not to venture there, true, but who ever listens to what big brothers have to say? They're all idiots; especially hers. Len's wondrous journey of search almost came up fruitless, 'til she found the cage where the mighty dragon of golden eyes remained. Yet, the only sign of avarice played upon her features. Greed for information. She wanted to know what her ears did not hear.

"Ozymandias, king of kings! Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!” she giggled here, her voice probably alerting to the Dragon man he had company. "Nothing beside remains. Hello mister Champion, lovely day, hmm?"

She was talking to him as if he was a small child, her spine bent at the waist with her hands clutching each other behind her back. Twin braid-tails swung loose like pendulums as she grinned. It was funny to see the strong jailed, since for one: she had a weak soul.

The good doctor in the infirmary had seen it fit to only give him enough pain meds to last him through the meeting with the boss. Since then, he'd scarcely had any medical attention. Just someone coming to check up on him once a day to make sure he wasn't dead or that infection was setting in.

Also, he had yet to be questioned by Nadja. Thus not much of anything had happened to him as of yet. The burning pain in his side being a constant reminder of what was likely yet to come. Lance's strength was waning and he'd had little appetite for the bland rations that they called food.

Thus he spent most of his time stretched out on the stiff cot that served as a bed, trying to rest. An arm draped over his eyes to block out the light. His cape hung off the side and pooled on the floor below.

Lance heard someone approaching, but didn't move until the voice which grated like nails on a chalkboard, reached his ears. There was a drawn out sigh, and the arm was lifted just enough to see who was there. A Rocket with green braided pigtails, someone he didn't actually recognize. He said nothing to her and lowered his arm again. The guards had already taken verbal stabs at him on occasion, so this was no different.

No response.

By the gods, she already went through three weeks of such torture with her once out cold sibling. She didn't need it again . . . not when she was looking for answers. That spread grin across her face draped to a terrible twist. If he wasn't dead, he was certainly capable of speaking.

"Mister Champion," she repeated, with much persistence. "I asked you if it is a lovely day. I would like an answer please. I certainly think it is a lovely day . . . haven't stepped outside yet though." There was a hint of playful banter in her speech, as if she was simply teasing the fact that she could go out and he couldn't. Were all the league champions, past and present, this weird?

He merely wanted to be left alone. Ignoring her was the best way to accomplish this. Yet, there was that ingrained polite side of him that felt she at least deserved some sort of response. Even if she really didn't.

"I have nothing to say to you." Lance then finally spoke in a cool yet tired tone.

Deep down he realized that he would have to get use to this sort of treatment. He was in enemy territory and their captive. He was not likely to leave any time soon, either.

"But you just said something to me." she pointed out, even drawing up finger in a teacheresque fashion. "I just want to ask some questions anyway. You have enough breath to do that, yes?"

"He finds himself so jaded to the world!" she inwardly sighed. "These people must have really pushed his buttons!"

A snort escaped her at the thought. She wasn't such people, just an average Joe (or rather, Jane?) simply passing him by. Maybe pushing those already jabbed down buttons would gets some power flowing,

Again Lance sighed and after a moment, pushed himself up into a sitting position to stare at the Rocket with a frown. He was sure he would have his fill of answering questions soon enough, but for the time being... there was little else to do. Plus it didn't mean he had to actually answer them.

"Fine, what are your questions?" He asked with a tint of exasperation in his voice.

A lovely smile befitting of a languid lord caressed her features. Complete satisfaction. That was quite more like it.

"Alright." she ticked, counting off the more important questions in her head to ask. "What exactly happened? Besides us grandly defeating you, Mister Champion. I don't know anything more." At least this was truth coming out of her savvy little mouth.

Leaning over slightly, Lance's brows knitted and his eyes closed as he tried to will away the throbbing pain in his side.

"I honestly don't remember much," he admitted. "I was shot, you see."

A great deal of what had happened after that was a blur.

"Kyogre appeared and there was a battle. I passed out before it was finished. But it seems to have been captured."

"Score one for TR!" Len cheered as if it was a great soccer match, minus the vuvuzelas. She heard that part, couldn't be happier. She winced next at the idea of being shot. Wasn't pleasant, certainly, but he was the enemy and all . . .

"Who shot you?" she quipped next. "I'd like to shake their hand."

At that there was a disproving frown on Lance's face as he shot the grunt a glare. Naturally he didn't share in the sentiment as he had been the one trying to prevent Kyogre's capture. But it was pointless to argue about it, and he didn't really have the strength to.

"I don't know," he answered in a flat but honest tone. He didn't actually see who it was.

What a pity. "What a pity . . . "

The braid-tailed grunt's face swelled as she swung in a dangling acrobat upon tenterhooks. Where was she to go from now? The basis of the story was complete, but where was the climax? The driving plot? The great ole' fight that usually occurs between the protagonist and those wanting to be main characters?

"What did you plan to do with the red-blue-purple err, orb thingy anyway? Pawn it off to some local jeweler and strike it rich? The darn thing seems pretty useless unless you wish to control mighty Mister Fish."

He would be lying if Lance said he wasn't annoyed at being classified as a common thief.

"I planned to return it where it belonged. And keep it from falling into the wrong hands again, like yours." The fact that it could control a legendary Pokemon is exactly why it needed to be protected.

If this girl was expecting to be entertained, she had come to the wrong man.

"Again, huh?" Again. It must have been a pretty piece of rock to have been stolen in the past. Who knows how many times it was passed between the slimy fingers of powerful men and women. Possibly infinite.

"Where does it belong, anyway? In a museum? It wouldn't have much use there though! At least use it for what's it is for instead of leaving it somewhere to melt when the world ends." Len spouted as she turned to sitting pretzel-style upon the floor below. Her attempts at getting comfortable were obvious; she was going to wring out this poor man for all he's worth. By now, she was probably rather annoying.

Yes again, she heard him right. Team Rocket hadn't been the first to have their eyes on the orb, or controlling Kyogre.

"It belongs in Hoenn. It just happened to be in a traveling museum display temporarily. The fact that it can control Kyogre is exactly why it shouldn't be used. It was created by corrupt men in the past, for such a purpose."

If Lance had his way, the thing would be destroyed.

He carefully watched the grunt as she sat on the floor, apparently having no intention of leaving any time soon. Yes she was annoying, but he had suffered through worse.

A short silenced kissed the flaked lips of Lennyka Dinkley, probably the sweetest sound ever to be invented by Arceus. She remained this way for some time, lost in her own delusions. When her upturned eyes flickered back to Lance with a blink, it was a green thumb's up she had more thoughts to question.

"Why are you good, Mister Champion?" she randomly blurted out but instead shook her head to the negative. What a stupid question. "Ah, ignore that. Next question: what's so great about Dragon-types?" She heard this from her brother. "You use them most, yes?"
