It was just before Siddie was set to head home for her mothers birthday, and not all too long after Scarrentines event that Sammy decided would be the time to get a few friends together for a little ghouls night. Her room was finally complete, the blinds had been drawn tight for Siddie to keep it dark, and for Riley a nice platter of brain based munchies. (Well those were for her as well.) The living room was filled with cushions on and off the sofas and chairs all around for the trio and candles were lit to keep the light down.

All around the room her three favorite Scareon at the moment milled about yipping and yapping as they played while Sammy lounged in a pile of cushions and blankets reading a book. When a knock reached the door she would simply wave the book and shout, "It's open c'mon in!"

Omen the fire Scareon was the first one to sneak over and face Tox, the two would probably have a nice rivalry someday. Both very independent pets really. Soon enough Tox was tugged away and Omen was left staring up at the Schink and his owner tilting his head curiously.

"Yep, dark red, gold trim, and a few hits of purple. Took a while to get the decorations right. As for reading Ghosts and Goblins, story about monsters trying to defeat an evil knight."

"You brought Tox with you I see?"

Riley had opted to take her time heading over to Sammy's room, despite the fact that it was.. about one minute and twelve seconds away at normal walking speed. When she finally arrived at the door, she did not knock. She simply opened it, because Sammy had mentioned that the door would be open when she came to visit. So it was, as she expected, and she peered inside carefully. She heard a fair amount of skittering and minipet movement, and was glad she had decided to leave all of her pets at home. None of them were very friendly or cooperative.

Unfortunately, the melonkit that curled around her feet suddenly had other ideas. She jumped slightly, startled at the touch, and the leopard printed cat padded regally in. It sat down on it's rump in an unoccupied corner of the room, and began to give itself a serious bath.

.. Yes. Well. Hello, ladies. Riley's hand lifted and crooked slightly in a wave. How are we this evening?

Riley narrowed her eyes to slits and gave Sammy a vicious little glare. Why yes, of course. She answered in a deadpan voice. 'The Doc', as you call it, was keeping me so very occupied that I could barely tear myself away to bother coming to visit you. Can't you tell by the way I'm dressed? She gestured to her nightshift. Clearly I've been out all day with Malodore, and not at all preparing to come to your party. It's a wonder I came at all.

In a much friendlier voice, she murmured to Siddie while nodding her head. Your infinite stores of patience must be mighty, to choose of your own free will to spend such a large quantity of time around Sammy. She is such a treasure.

With a bit of a whistle Sammy winked at Riley, "Oh he was keeping you occupied? Well I never got a chance at the dance to talk with you again, but that's for another time. And I have to say, lovely outfit." Rolling her eyes she waved a hand dismissing Riley's taunts, "You came because you know if you didn't I'd bring Siddie down to your room and let the Scareons have their way with you."

She had nothing more to add, Siddie did rather well at that herself with the stopping to change remark, then again Siddie was looking lovely herself as far as Sammy was concerned about ghouls and outfits before swatting at the poking finger.

"I'm not that bad thank you very much; both of you. As for what to do, we have music, snacks, plenty of time to ourselves. A whole school to gossip about." She paused for a moment, and Riley, Riley had been up to a a lot lately judging by the sounds she heard from Riley's room in the past month. "Hit the mini's they bite back."

Omen of course was doing his usualy inspection of Riley slowing rising up on his hind paws to swat at the tentacles hanging lowest on her. They looked fun! (Even if he had been told a hundred times over not to do that he still did anyway.)

Not having been privy to the conversation at the dance, Siddie assumed that Riley's wince was a reaction to Omen's sudden attempt at tentacle molestation, and laughed at the fire scareon.

... she would not reach up and tickle the purple feet that were now easily within reach. She would not. ... Not till Riley had relaxed a little more, at any rate. She was slightly intimidated by the mindflayer, though she wasn't about to admit that anywhere within Riley's hearing. She hastily buried the thought, hoping it hadn't been loud enough to reach the other ghoul.

Aloud, she said, "So, do you know who got caught trying to sneak into the office? I heard that they were trying to get a look at the attendance records, but nobody seems to know who it actually was. ... Come to think of it, that's a little scary."

Well, it wasn't me, and therefore I am disappointed. Riley murmured quietly. Though, if it was me, I would be even more disappointed at being caught. Riley noted the sense of dwelling fear all the students had for the office, and the headmistress inside. Riley had a healthy respect for the headmistress, if only because of this fact. Her other actions had been erratic and rash, but somehow that little woman had managed to wrap these students' FEAR around her little finger. She must never go hungry.

I've returned to the office twice, after that event. She responded to Sammy. And no such things have occurred to me. Although I've no doubt the acceptance bin would try to eat someone if it got too close. Otherwise, whether or not there is a protection charm over the office is a mystery to me, I've experienced none of it personally.

She mulled over the possible motives for such a break-in, taking Siddie's information into account. What could anyone want with the attendance records? That's barely interesting information. Unless someone has been missing a very long time. She blinked up at the two. How long have you two been at this school?

"If it was you, half the school would be gossiping about how the almighty Flayer Of Minds was captured by the Staff snooping around. Disappointment wouldn't begin to cover what you would be feeling if the whole school was laughing at you on top of life long detention." For Sammy the office was just an inconvience, she never really cared what was inside it, she hated being in it, but she did enjoy hearing what happened to other students behind that frosted window when Helma got really livid.

"No return visit's for me, hate the place plain and simple. Just another chance for someone to look down on you and wave their finger like your a misbehaved mini with no rights." Turning to Siddie she nodded, "Yeah some of us chased a glowing pendent into the woods only to end up there. When we finally escaped we got dumped back into the woods. The weird part was when we walked too far from where we started we began to vanish and re-appear where we started."

Leaning back she tossed a few brain bites back pondering, "First-year, but by now lingering on well past that. We don't graduate to the next grade till we pass a final. I haven't taken one though."

She raised an eyebrow, "What about you Riley?"
