I love band. I just switched from trumpet to horn and I love it. My BD says I'm really good and better than sophmores in the upper band so I'll most definitely move up and get a spot in the show next year. I've been in it long enough to be a part of my own family, I don't think I'd trade it for anything. But scheduling might undo it all. I'm scheduling for my sophmore year. I'm supposedly focusing on Health, but I don't want to anymore in the first place. The thing is we have to choose a career cluster in which we want to focus our studies in, and Health would completely overlap it. My scedule is the basic 4 classes, PE, French, and then 2 electives. I have to take one health course but that cancels out band. And then in junior and senior year I can't take it at all. I'll have an internship for college credit but no band! Band can most definitely get me a scholarship. Not a full one, but hey, money in the pocket. I have no clue if I'll even continue with music or health. I don't know what I'm going to do in 10 years.. Or 4... Or 8.. Heck, the rest of my life. But I love band. Band has become my life, I can't live without it. So today I decided to change courses. Once I'm out of Health I can't go back in, but I personally don't see myself becoming a veterinarian like I wanted to or save lives because I know I'll see them die and I'm quite sentimental, overly sentimental really. And blood gives me the creeps. I love the people though, but most of the ones I talk to are in band so I'm not gonna be missing too much. But then I don't know any careers in the Music field that would please both me and my parents. I'm not putting rock star, maybe musical therapist? Feedback would be nice gonk

Musical therapy would be a good compromise. Music education would be, too, if you like the person-to-person aspect of the medical field. Either way, I congratulate you on coming up with a sensible solution. 3nodding

Also this way, you're on a track that can easily be changed since it has credits in various classes. Music ed is always good too, just see how you work around kids. Maybe try out a theory class. Best of luck!
