Raziya hadn't been alive for long, but she hadn't realized that just yet. She was out to see the world, and she was positive that it was a wonderful place, full of things to see and talk to. She was toddling down the path next to their home, intent on seeing it right then, when she tripped over her own paws, landing on her face.

Her big blue eyes filled with tears at the new sensation. It hurt! Her mouth hurt especially, she thought as she sat down on her bottom and moved her jaw. She crossed her eyes, trying to see her nose. "I dink I bid my dongue," she said.

Raziya looked at her sister, and promptly stuck her tongue out. "Ib ib beebing?" she asked, crossing her eyes even more to try and look at the tongue. She had no idea how silly she looked, but the tears were gone with the curiosity of whether her tongue was bleeding from biting.

It wasn't, but she couldn't see, and she was starting to get dizzy from crossing her eyes for so long. She swayed slightly, then flumped onto her side, her tongue still sticking out.

"I got dizzy," Raziya said, laying on her back. "Crossing my eyes," she explained seriously. "You look funny from here," she added with a giggle. Her paw went out, playfully batting at her sister. "Oh! I was gonna talk to everything! Have you talked to everything yet?" she asked, sitting up abruptly. "Don't you think it's all just--just beautiful??"

Her big blue eyes went even larger and dreamy as she looked around.

"Did he really? Did he really??" Razi asked excitedly. "Tha's mar-vifilous!" She hopped to her feet, dancing around in circles happily, only to stop. "And I got dizzy again," she said, swaying like a drunken sailor for a moment. "What does mar-vifilous mean, anyway?" she asked her sister after a moment of thought.

A faint whisper caught her ear, then another, and another. She blinked and looked around, trying to figure out where they were coming from. But just like the wind, it was gone a second later. "You're marv-ifilous!" she declared of her sister, even though she still had no idea what it meant.

"It's marv-ifiiiilous!!" Raziya bellowed in agreement before bursting into laughter and falling onto her side again. "But I bet the sand is reeeeealllly old, so old that it--that it fell apart into liiiitle tiny pieces and--and it makes it more marvifilous! Cuz there's more of it! And we're marvifilous cuz there's two of us! And--"

Another whisper caught her attention and she turned, looking around her again before going, "shhhhh," to her sister and creeping awkwardly to look at the nearest bush. "I hear something," she told her sister in a stage whisper.

Raziya was now sitting in front of an old, dying bush, her tail flicking back and forth behind her, a look of rapture on her face. She had forgotten about her sister for a moment.

"Oh? Thank you!" the little cub said. "I think you're beautiful, too!" Then she nodded, and nodded again. "Okay, but I'll come talk later!" she said, turning to her sister. "Miss Bush says I'm pretty!" she told her sister. "And that you are, too! Isn't she nice?? She's--she's marv-ifilous!"

"She says yo'weeell come," Raziya said with a formal tone. "Now she says we should go play," she added after a long second of listening to the bush. "Thank you, Miss Bush!" she said. Then promptly pounced for her sister, since the very important conversation with her new friend was over.
