Just as she'd done when Nukpana refused to answer her phone, Riley found herself heading for Jericho's dorm the day he'd finally stopped answering her texts in a timely fashion. She'd been distracted by a couple of stray texts, but she was walking into the monster dorms mere minutes after having left her own - her quick step serving her well. She rapped on his door with the back of her knuckles. With her other hand, the phone was flipped closed, swiveled around, and slid into her back pocket in one solid, unbroken move. Once both hands were free, they folded up tightly in front of her and she glared at the door.
If he wasn't home, that was one thing. But if he was home, and not answering her calls.. there had better be a damn good reason.

After having dealt with Savior, Jericho had crashed in his room, resting. In fact, he had ended up taking a nap to let his FEAR recover on its own a little more. He planned on getting some external help eventually, but he wanted some time before doing just that. As a result, he hadn't been answering his phone at all.
However, he stirred awake at the sound of a furious rapping at his door. Groaning, he slowly got up, wincing from the movement. Placing a hand over his chest, he grimaced and made his way over. It took him a little longer than usual to reach it, being sluggish from both the fact that he was injured and from having just woke up, but he eventually made it over and opened it. He found Riley waiting there.
"Oh... hey," he greeted with a faint smile. His hand was still resting against his chest for the time being, and he looked a bit worn.
"Ah.. what's up?"

What's up?! She barked out harshly, taking a step to stand face to face with him. Do you know how worried I've been? You haven't answered your phone all-
She hadn't really been too worried, to be quite honest. Riley had assumed he'd turned off his phone for some silly reason - or, more likely, he'd lost it. That was her biggest worry - until she saw his face, and her words halted in surprise.
Then she really started to worry.
Her hand lifted up, brushing the hair out of his face and holding it back so she could get a good look at the bruises on his forehead. She peered at the discolored skin for a moment, trying to discern the angle and deepness, before all of her tentacles pointed their tips at Jericho and inhaled. The smell of blood heightened her fear.
Jericho, she whispered out carefully. What happened?

As Riley began to scold him, Jericho stood rather still, not really sure what to say in response. He hadn't realized she was calling him, but he now guessed that he slept through the phone ringing and buzzing. Before long, she caught wind of his current state, in which he could only grimace at her question.
He didn't want to admit it. That he had gotten into a fight and lost pretty badly. Granted the person he got into a fight with was a strange girl who... wasn't too bad afterwards, but that was besides the point. He was still very much ashamed to have been beaten down like that and while he did want some medical help, he didn't really want to have to explain things.
"Ah..." he started while casting his gaze away from hers, "Well.."
The Mindflayer wouldn't think less of him for losing like this would she?
"Kinda.. got into a fight.." he said quietly.

Every muscle that Riley had control over tensed at once, when he admitted he'd been in a fight. Her first thought - Astra couldn't have caused a bruise like this.. which meant she had no idea who would dare try to fight with Jericho. Whether he won or lost was irrelevant (for now). Really, the only thing that stopped Riley's eyes from turning red with anger was the fact that Jericho really didn't seem that terribly beaten up - from what she could see offhand.
Still.
Who.
The word was a hiss, as she was trying very hard to keep herself under control. She'd promised, promised Malodore she wouldn't lose herself so easily anymore. It took every inch of willpower she had not to hunt down anyone with Jericho's scent and interrogate them.
And it was pretty clear any interrogation would not involve words.

Jericho could tell that Riley was having some trouble controlling her anger here, meaning he would have to be pretty careful. Though it was less for his sake than the others involved. While he knew Riley was strong, he wasn't sure if she could really take on Savior. Basically, he didn't want her to get into a huge bloodbath where she could get hurt really badly in his name.
"A new monster girl named Savior," he said as calmly as he could, "We... got into a fight over a Kushi then she kinda helped me get back here.."
Maybe if he acted like it was no big deal, it'd help Riley keep her cool. For now, he kept his hand over his chest, not really wanting to have that wound out in the open right now. If she realized how injured she was before she's settled, she'd probably pop a tentacle or something if that was even possible.

Savior. Riley's eyes unfocused for a moment, but when nothing familiar, not even a mention, came up, she blinked and focused on Jericho once more. Something didn't quite sit well with Riley, concerning the story. Jericho got into a fight with.. a girl? That wasn't like him.. it must have been some girl. And over a kushi no less.. what the hell did Jericho care about kushis? Was one going to be his lunch?
The confusion overtook her anger, flooding her with question after question until one particular thing caught her attention. Her eyes slit thin as she caught notice of the hand held unnaturally at his chest. She reached for it, but did not pull it away - because it was then that she noticed one of the fingers disjointed and crooked. Broken, perhaps? And a possible chest injury to boot? What else had Jericho suffered in this fight?!
Suddenly, revenge took a back seat to concern.
Riley's hand snapped back into her pants, and she flipped her phone out. It opened in a fluid movement, and her fingers slid across the screen without her looking at it. Clearly, she was dialing a number she knew by heart.
She brought the phone to her ear and listened to it ring, all the while trying to take inventory of any further injuries - and almost choked when she turned her head to see his wings, and noticed a tear. Not his wings..

His hand tensed up as she had placed hers over his. It was partially because her hand was rather close to his broken finger and partially due to the fact that he was worried she'd end up revealing his chest wound. Furrowing his brow, Jericho watched as she nearly immediately dialed up someone on her phone.
"Are you calling Mal..?" he asked quietly. It was the only person he could think of that she'd be calling right now. Oh how he hoped it wasn't Christof for whatever reason instead. That would be horrid.
As she looked around him, he turned about and watched her, feeling a little uneased since he couldn't completely tell what was going on through her mind.
"I'll be alright.."

Riley nodded her head to Jericho's question just as the phone clicked a connection, and she heard it's voice over the line.Malodore "Buon giorno?" Malodore's voice issued from the skellyphone; it must have been in, for once (and answering the phone on the off-chance that it wasn't Israfel). Malodore, it's me. Though Riley could have had this conversation on a one-sided level without the phone, she'd grown accustomed and fond of using the phone to converse with people regardless. Her voice was still emitted directly into it's mind, however. Are you terribly busy? Jericho's been hurt from a fight, I'm not sure of the extent, but I'd appreciate it infinitely if you had a chance to take a look at him.Malodore "Jericho's been hurt?" The plague doctor sounded startled. " Assolutamente - where are you? What is the extent of the damage?" Fortunately, it still had its first-aid kit assemble from assisting Calder the other day. I am at his dorm room. 312. And from what I can see, he has some bruising, possibly a broken finger, several tears in his wings which are concerning me most, and.. She finally decided now would be the right time to pull his hand away, and did so carefully - but the unbuttoning of his shirt was not so careful, as she plucked it open before he could react and saw -
What the hell, Jericho, were you stabbed?!Malodore "Give me a few minutes," Malodore said; audible in the background were noises as the plague doctor swept its things into a bag (as well as a few barks as Luce got excited over all the sudden activity). "I will bring my gentlest suture thread." Riley breathed a quick sigh, before closing her eyes. Molto grazie, cara mia. She murmured quickly, before closing her phone closed. Her eyes opened to slits, and she put her hands on her hips.
So. Savior, hmm?

Standing there, Jericho listened to the conversation to the best of his ability. It wasn't easy, but he managed to pick out bits and pieces in the very least. Of course, he couldn't understand the chunks of Italian that was said. Though, while he did this, he didn't expect Riley to pull his hand away and undo his shirt.
Gritting his teeth, he sort of nodded.
"Kind of... I guess that's basically what happened there... It was just her finger though."
If Riley were to look carefully, bits of sand could be seen around the wound which had been shed off of Savior. The dragon also smelled faintly of citrus as a result of having the sand in his system currently.

Her finger? Riley's voice hitched a bit higher in surprise. She did that, with just her- She stopped, as her eyes had fallen on the wound while she talked about it, and leaned in to get a closer look. Why was it flaking like that? She didn't want to touch it, in case it hurt, but she just barely brushed a finger against the edge, and came off with.. what wasn't flakes of skin.
She rubbed it against her fingertips, and one eyebrow rose as she looked up at Jericho. Is this sand? Like.. sand sand? Where did you guys fight, at a beach?

"She's... a lot stronger than she looks.." he mumbled. She also wore very little but that wasn't an important detail here. Spotting the sand, Jericho shook his head, though he had to think of where it came from exactly. It took a bit of thought, but he recalled that she had come from under a sand mound when he first saw her. That and she had a tendency to leave sand around wherever she went.
"I think her body produces it... there was bits of sand everywhere she moved."
Glancing away, he looked over at the lava pit and recalled something.
"...You warned Mal about the lava right.." he frowned, suddenly remembering how some undead were with fire and fire-related things.

Oh. So her body produces sand. This wasn't as odd as it might have been in a normal setting, simply because.. well. There's weirder things afoot at the Academy than that, to be sure.
Unfortunately, Riley had not warned Mal because she hadn't even thought of it - the lava pit had become a familiar decor, that, despite the heat emanating from it, did not remind Riley of fire. It was liquidy, after all. Her stomach plummetted as Jericho reminded her of her inadequacy.
Oh, no. She murmured low and quiet. I'll just.. I'll tell it when it gets here, before we let it in. If it doesn't want to come in, we can always just go to my dorm.

Nodding, Jericho stared at the lava for awhile. While he did love it, the pit did make things tricky if he wanted undead over. For one it would probably be a horrendous idea to let Amrita come to his room. Ever. If she freaked out over his fire batwings for lunch, she'd probably pass out at the sight of the lava.
"Good idea... I don't know how comfortable it'd be in the same room as the lava," He said quietly, "But your room might be more comfortable for Mal in general anyway. We'll just have to see when it gets here."
The dragon went and placed his hand over his chest again, carefully to not move his one finger all too much.
"Um.. sorry to worry you by the way.."

Just then, there was an urgent knock at the door. "Riley? Jericho?" came a familiar call from the other side of the door. "May I come in?"
