Dark Witches Forest
Salem Forest
Filled with numerous legends and haunting creatures, the Dark Witches Forest is a fairy tale setting come to life. Surrounding the entire campus of Salem Witches Institute and a bit before the Wall. The forest, no matter the season, is foggy. Sometimes it is more foggy than others times, but it remains creepy all year around. There are many tales, rumors, myths, and legends about the woods.
Some claim that there are long extinct creatures in it depths. While others just argue that there is a race of malevolent spirits that dwell with in it. However the most common tale, is it's former residents. The Vemon Witch Coven, had set up long before the former colonial town had decided on calling themselves Salem and long before they even thought witches lived among them. Dangerous and calculating the young coven would sweep into the small town veiled by mist and steal anything that pleased them. Cow, sheep, bales of hay, and even babies.
Fearful of these supernatural forces the muggle folk called out for an exorcist. Many came to purge the forest of its evil, but none succeed and only a few ever returned. Finally desperate, they sought out a wise woman, though some say it was a medical man. Swayed by the town's people's cries for help, they went to confront the dark Coven. No one know what happened next, some say the hero died after defeating the coven. Other say that the hero joined them and simply moved them away.
Most people like to leave it as a mystery, but whether you are a muggle or a wizard it is clear that whatever happened in the forest changed it. Making the forest the number one story, dare option and rumor maker for Salem students (tied with the Attic space). Along with being a great deterrent to keep muggles, witches, and wizards away and wary of the forest. That doesn't always stop students from entering, however no student should do that without Professor supervision.
