 The skies were clear over the forest canopy. The sun breaching through the leaves and branches, giving an emerald light to the forest below. The soft chirping of birds coming through this rather exotic half of the forest. The blooms were indeed a bit different, the scents more spicy and titillating. Among these new places, a single soq wandered through the forest, exploring it herself.

The night before had been terrible. She'd been caught in a storm that at first hadn't seemed too horrible but it turned ugly fast. She had tried to push on, seek shelter, and yet now here she was opening her eyes to the beam of broken sunlight through an unfamiliar canopy of trees. She'd grown up wandering a wooded area but this... it was much different from the woods she knew so well. Where was she? Lifting her head, she looked around, wincing only slightly to her stiff muscles and joints. Had she walked all the night searching for shelter and gotten lost? She supposed it was possible. It had been hard to see anything in the flurry of rain and sleet that had pelted her relentlessly the night before. Standing, she counted herself lucky she hadn't been caught in a flash flood or worse, stumbled into a steep gully and gotten herself killed. She'd just have to find where she was now and how to get home to her foals... were they worried? Missing her or would her parents have the foresight to keep them calm?

Raven's footsteps could be heard approaching her location. The soft scrunching of the leaves and grass coming towards them. She continued enjoying the smell of the blooms and blossoms till she picked up the scent of another soq. She tilted her head, wondering who was around.

The sound of hoof falls in the distance caught her attention. She had a moment to ponder if she wanted to risk giving her location away or not. She listened for a moment, she took careful steps to find a way to bottle neck the approaching soquili to her just on the off chance that it was more than a single individual. Tactics... when facing a possible force that could out number you always find a way to make the odds more eve. At least her being lost hadn't caused her to forget something important. here she could risk calling out. "Hello?" She raised her head and took her stance waiting to see what or who would answer her call.

The female's ears perked up. Her curiosity sparks as she approaches the location "Helloo?" she called back out. The birds replying to both their calls, moving away from their location in a flurry of feathers. She slowy approached where she had heard the call, cautious of who might it be.

It was another female's voice. But just because it was female didn't mean that she didn't have any malice. This area was new. Erring on the side of caution was to be expected of anyone who was... for lack of a better term, lost. "If you're a predator looking for their next meal you'll have to work for your supper."

"Predator?" she asked, tilting her head. "I'm no Kalona or Walker...nor am i human." she replied, still looking for the source of the other female's voice. She should be closer, the voice was louder this time.

Slowly, she peeked her head out from behind a rock she'd used as her source to bottle neck any on coming forces to make the battle a bit ore fare. She wanted to see for her self just what was outside. Sage green veils fluttered slightly as she moved. "Even so, I'm not entirely helpless..." She wasn't.. she was just lost but the other didn't need to know that information at all. She caught something red in the distance. She ducked her head back behind the rock.

She caught the sight of something moving in th distance. Slowly approaching the strange shape. The red form would creep closer to the other female. "Why would I hurt you anyway? Not like I know you."

She heard the voice again this time it was closer. "All the same one does not have to know the other to wish them harm." It was true, you didn't have to know your opponent. Still she figured she might as well try to make this one's acquaintance, she'd just keep her guard up. Peeking back from behind the rocks that lead to the narrow walk way, she saw a red mare ahead. "However, I cannot pass judgments so quickly lest I'll be stuck in this place for far longer than I wish to be..." She offered a small nod and smile that wasn't entirely friendly nor was it a smile of ill-intent. It was just a smile, no more, no less. "Tell me.. Where... exactly is this place?"

"Paranoid much?" she asked herself, wondering what kind of mare was this. "The forests deep south of the mountains with three rivers passing through it." she replied. This place was fairly far from where most soqs lived, one of the reasons why she liked coming here, exploring the newer areas to find.

Stepping out to become more visible, she looked at the other mare's feathered look and quirked a brow. How.. odd.. this was a new sight. She was riddled with scars. It seemed almost like where ever her armor wasn't she had some scars. Some were old and fading while others were still new and barely growing the fur back in. "I see.. I've not been this far out before so it makes sense that it wouldn't look familiar." She looked around as though still trying to get her barrings. She finally looked back at the red mare and spoke once more. "My name's Merashik by the way... Beg your pardon if you found me a bit.. paranoid but I rather woke up to find myself in this area..." She offered another smile, this time more warm and friendly.

"Raven...oh...erm..." she noticed her scars. Guess she did have reason to be scared. "Erm...sorry...about that." she muttered gently. Was she in hot water now, feeling like a complete idiot.

She shook her head some. "Don't worry about it." She figured the other mare had taken note of her scars and it only drew her own attention to the more recent of the scars. "I Had a run in with a hungry wolf pack a while back... I think it's only the second time I've woken up needing the aid of another." She chuckled some. "Right... Raven, pleasure meeting you... I probably wouldn't have wound up here if it hadn't have been for that storm yesterday.. Do you think you could point me back to the direction of my home? It's a ways away from that two-legged encampment... it's about a 3 day travel from it... Well that's if you're making good time."

"Wolves eh?" she asked. "Nasty buggers...and that storm...." she nodded gently. At least she could trust her, there were wolves around these lands and there was a storm a few nights ago. "You? Go home alone? Nuh-uh. You aren't going back alone." she replied. "not when injured."
