Maia stood in just inside the alley waiting for Leto. They were patrolling together tonight and Maia had to say she was a bit excited. It was more often now, that she was participating in partnered patrols, but it made for far less dull moments and far less butt kicking.
She watched for the senshi of camouflage and laughed at the thought. She was waiting to see the senshi who quite technically shouldn't be seen. She could not help, but to giggle at the thought. It was amusing. She quelled her giggles knowing being a senshi was attention catching enough, no need to draw attention to oneself with giggle. No, it was a good idea and as a super senshi and a member of the BMC she knew that all to well.

Kat had just gotten off work at the local cafe downtown as she checked her watch. Almost time. She would be patroling with Maia tonight, which she was very excited for. She hadn't done much patrolling yet since she'd become a Senshi a few months back and she hadn't had a chance to get to know any of her fellow BMCers at this point. She decided now was a good a time as any to take off, so she quickly waved to her boss and ran out the door. As she came to a skidding halt just outside the alley they were supposed to meet in, she quickly grabbed her pen and muttered "Leto Power, Make-up!" Maia would probably hear her and be able to feel the sudden power of a senshi nearby.
Sailor Leto cocked an eyebrow as she heard Maia giggling and she slipped into the alley with a grin on her face. "What's so funny?" she asked, words heavy with her English accent.

Maia turned hearing Leto, to see the girl had powered up. She shook her head at Leto's question and just continued to smile. It wasn't important and truthfully it wasn't that funny.
"Nothing," she said, "you ready to go. We are in for a busy night. Three areas to go to tonight. Heavy reports of youma activity, a complaint of rock monster. It is all too weird. First flying beasts at Meadowview and now rock monster."
Maia sighed, shoulders sagging slightly and looked down to the crystal that now resided around her neck. Her new training schedule was hard, but she was hoping that sometime soon, she would find out what the crystal actually did. Ares said it had to attune and so Maia was working with it as often as possible.
She wondered if she would unlock it tonight, but she highly doubted it.

Leto nodded quickly. “Ready as I’ll ever be!” She fell silent as Maia described the three areas that they would be patrolling, and mentioned rock monsters. “Badass,” she said and grinned to her patrolling partner. Leto knew all about the flying beasts at Meadowview- Being a student there herself she had encountered a few. She figured the monsters appearing around town had something to do with Elysion.
The second Maia sighed and looked down at the crystal, Leto took interest. Her head tilted to the side ever-so-slightly, her eyes narrowing to slits as she peered at the crystal. So a fellow BMCer had gotten their hands on one of those fancy pants crystals, eh? Hopefully it would come in handy tonight while they patrolled.
“Might as well start hunting some rock monsters- unless of course we run into a youma first. Or at the same time….” She trailed off. With her luck, they’d end up with both JUST because she had mentioned it.

Maia grinned and turned to head off jumping up a fire escape with little effort and bounding up the tall apartment building for the roof, she knew the flying beasties and rock monster weren't actually much of a threat, as long as they did not gang up on you so she figured checking out the youma activity by the community center would be best.
"Community Center first tonight," she said looking to Leto, "I have no doubt we will encounter a youma there. I have heard of a few attacks on children lately. Afterward we can move on, we have plently of time before check in.'
Maia looked onward in the direction of the community center, "Roof jumping is the best way to get their without being spotted, you up for that?"

"Community Center it is!" Leto shouted as she raced off after her partner for the night. "I've never roof jumped but I'm sure I can handle it!" she was still grinning as she called after Maia. Somehow, Kathryn always happened to forget just how clumsy she is when she was Sailor Leto. She jumped from the first roof to the next with little effort. When she jumped to the second one however, she slipped upon landing and scraped her knee. She cursed under her breath and took off running again, hopping from one roof to the next until the two eventually arrived in the community center's vicinity.
Leto peered through the darkness at the large building, trying to both see and sense any sort of youma activity nearby. A chill ran up and down her spine suddenly, and before she had time to register that familiar youma feeling, a large black dog-like creature that seemed to be covered from head to toe in slime darted out from the shadows and tackled Leto to the ground.

Maia was in front so she did not notice Leto's little slip, not that she would have said much to it other than to ask if the girl was alright. She made it the community center and Leto was right behind her, so she jumped down to investigate expecting Leto to follow and of course she did.
Unfortunately she managed to get tackled by the youma as soon as they hit the ground and more unfortunately it was covered in slime which made Maia grimace. Oh that was so not okay. Maia did not want to touch that thing with a ten foot pole and her attack would only make the youma go weak and slump right on top of Leto.
She looked around for a rock wanting to throw it, but afraid she would miss and hit her teammate instead. Therefore it couldn't be helped and Maia jumped at it placing a well aimed kick to its side in an attempt to knock it off of Leto.

The youma rolled off of Leto from the kick by Maia, a low guttural sound rumbling in the back of its throat as it scrambled quickly to it's feet. Leto whimpered as she looked down at herself, slime now covering her entire torso and splatters of it on her face and bare arms and legs.
"Ughhhh..." she groaned and tried to wipe the slime from her cheek. "That's disgusting," she muttered under her breath as she pushed herself up to her feet. She quickly dove into some bushes that were outside the community centre and yelled "Leto Camoflage Illusion!", which immediately made her disappear into her surroundings. She was watching the youma intently from her hiding spot, waiting for the opportune moment to attack it.
The youma had its haunches of slime raised as if it were fur. It's front end was low to the ground, it's back end high in the air as if it was getting ready to pounce a second time. It looked back and forth frantically, trying to find the seemingly invisible senshi. Unable to see her, it turned and faced Maia. With a loud warning snap of its teeth, it lunged at Sailor Maia instead.

Maia frowned when Leto disappeared and her frown only deepen when the youma turned its attention to her. "Leto," she hissed, "what are you doing?"
The words were said through clenched teeth as she dodged the lunging youma. If she couldn't stop for a moment to sing out her attack then she would have to fight and a drooling youma dog wasn't her idea of a good time.
The youma was only angered by her dodging its attack so of course it lunged again, but this time Maia did not dodge, instead she jumped at the youma aiming her heal for right between the eyes.
"I like to stay slime free, thank you," she shouted as she flew through the air.

A silent apology ran through Leto's head at poor Maia. She was crouched low to the ground, her boots digging into the dirt from the bushes she hid in. Her muscles tensed as she watched intently, her honey colored eyes narrowed. Slowly, she crept out of the bushes- still invisible to the dumb, slimy youma that was distracted by Sailor Maia.
The youma flew through the air and slammed into the ground a few feet away from Leto. It was growling and spitting fiercely as it struggled back up to it's feet. It was slowly creeping towards Maia now, analysing her and figuring out its next move.
As the youma made its way towards Maia, Leto lunged from the ground and landed on it's back. She wrapped her legs tightly around it's body and her arms around it's neck. She shimmered back into existence as she clung to the now bucking and very pissed off slime-dog-thing.
Leto had a huge grin on her face as she tightened her grip around its neck and looked at her partner. If this damn thing would quit panicing she could quickly snap it's neck and turn it to dust.

Maia grinned seeing the youma hit the ground hard, but frowned as it did not stay down and seemed to eying her more closely this time before it attack. She was ready for it, but she wasn't ready for Leto to jump on it back. The sight of her teammate riding the youma like a bull was almost too much.
She gave Leto a looked and took a stance. She could most certainly calm the bucking youma.
"I'm going to use my attack, when the notes rush at you jump out of the way," she said quickly, maybe too quickly she wasn't sure.
"Sweet Harmony," she called out using her first attack, which seemed perfectly suited to youma's. The music filled her as always and she sang out the beautiful melody and lovely translucent rainbow colored notes formed in the air. The rushed at the pair like a mini tornadoe, that would slow anything it touched down to a creeping halt, though youma tended to just slump over.
"Out of the way Leto," she called.

Leto nodded as Maia explained to her what she needed to do and she clung to the youma and waited. And then as soon as the notes came at them and Maia yelled at her to move, she released the youma and dove off of it's back. She rolled on the ground and pushed herself back up to her feet, watching as the youma became calm and wobbled on it's feet.
When Maia's beautiful singing finally stopped and the youma slumped over, Leto walked up to it and placed her hands on either side of it's head. With a quick flick of her wrists, she snapped it's slimy neck and the youma dropped to the ground and turned to dust.
"Thanks Maia!" she smiled at the other girl and then looked down at herself only to realize she was completely covered in youma-slime.

Maia frowned at Leto, but otherwise just shook her head, "That was totally gross and I'm so glad I did not have to ride that thing. But next time Leto, a little headed up before you disappear on me."
She laughed and shook her head again. "We took out one youma tonight, but we should move on possible try for another. That was not terribly hard and I'm not too tired despite not really actually sleeping at night."
She motioned for Leto to follow her and jumped up onto the roof of the community center, stopping just to look around and decide where to head to next. The dog youma had rerouted her train of thought and she needed a moment to straighten it out. There were complaints of rock monsters, but as she felt yet another youma just a rooftop away, she doubted they would make it that far tonight.

Leto grinned broadly at her patrolling partner for the evening. "Sorry about that Maia! I sometimes forget to tell people before I disappear." She laughed loudly and nodded at Maia.
After Maia motioned for her to follow, Leto jumped up onto the roof of the community center and immediately felt that familiar tingle of another youma nearby. "Doesn't seem like we're gonna get anywhere near rock monsters tonight..." she said quietly. Leto knew all about not getting much sleep at night since being awakened and joining the Blood Moon Court.
Apparently tonight the Negaverse had plenty of their youma out on the prowl- rock monsters would just have to wait.

Maia shook her head, but smiled none the less, "It okay. I have been surprised by attacks more that once in my time as a senshi. I just never had anyone disappear."
On the roof she looked back to Leto and nodded. It seemed the youma's were out tonight, for crystal or energy or whatever it was it took. "No," she said, "no I don't think we will, but looks like we've got another youma to dust, so let go."
With that she jumped to the next roof to take out the next youma, wondering if they would encounter more in the night.
