 Ancientheart awoke to the sound of distant chirping, her ears twitching now and then as she took in the different sounds around her. Yawning and stretching she took in her den, the one she had had for sometime now. She recalled the first time she had found her home on Peke'Na lands and smiled at the fond memory. Lazily she flickered her bright pink tail back and forth as she pondered on what she wanted to spend her time doing today.
Her jobs usually involved digging dens or areas of the village, but today seemed to be a dig-free zone. After lazying about for a few minutes more Ancientheart stood up and tried to shake the sleepiness away from her system. Looking around she took in her home once more and saw nothing was out of place or moved. Nodding she made her way outside and blinked as a strong sunbeam seemed to shine down upon her from above. "Time for some brekkie!" She spoke out happily as she made her way through Peke'Na heading for the boarder of the roguelands; as some of the best meals could be found there.

He was running. He was panting. He was running and panting at the same time. A pink tongue hung from the side of his mouth, slightly turning a whitish pink from being dried out by the wind. Black paws hit the ground so hard that they didn’t even know what they were doing. Where was he going though, he didn’t know. He just knew he had to go here! He had to RUN there. Samaki was just a blur of bluish gray floating amongst the black as he sailed across the rogue lands. When he spotted a dark female canine, it was too late before the adult male actually crashed into her. “Oh,” pant. pant. “I’m sorry!” he paused, taking a moment for a breather. “SeeIwasrunningandyouappearedoutofnowhereandbamhereweare!” The wild dog said in one quick breath, finally taking a nice intake of air. He loved to run, but he was awful at the breaking thing. And when someone just pops out from nowhere just made a situation worse than what it could have been.

Ancientheart had been lost in thought when suddenly what felt like a freight-train cashed into her. Gasping she impacted with the ground and lay there stunned for a moment. The weight above her shifted and let out a whine as her front paw started to thob. Frowning fiercely she looked up at the male wild dog infront of her. "What... what did you say?" She spoke in confusion the other wild dogs words all blending into one huge breathless word. "You really should watch where you run." Slowly getting up to a sitting position wincing every now and then as pained spikes ran from her paw and up to her leg.
"Great," Ancientheart mumbled to herself as she inspected her sore paw and wondered if she should go see a healer back at the village. After a moment she looked up at the other. " I don't recall ever seeing you here before, are you a rogue lander?" She spoke calmly.

“…” Samaki didn’t answer, but just wagged his tail as he circled around the darker female. “Sorry!” he whined, his tail sinking in between his hind legs. “Icouldn’tstopppp!” he complained. His tail untucked itself, before wagging again. When he noticed that she was looking at her paw, he frowned. “I didn’t hurt you…did I?” his eyes lowered as he spoke, almost lowering his whole body to the ground in a submissive state. He had finally caught his breath again, which made it much more easier to understand.
“Rogue…lander? He looked past the female, as if seeing into the pack lands. “I don’t think I have ever been called rogue lander before…” he mused. Sam would definitely have to use that term on someone else. “This…would be my first time in the area…” he narrowed his eyes as he thought, before wagging his tail again. Samaki was a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. “…yeah, first time here! I don’t think I’ve ever seen you here before, either!” Of course he wouldn’t, seeing as he had never been here before. But no one had to tell Sam that.

Maybe she was a bit cranky, but still that didn't count for rudeness on her part. "It is alright, I will just go see a healer in my tribe, the Peke'Na. That is where I live currently." The pressure of pain on her pain was slowly easing up, so maybe the damage hadn't been too bad. "I am called Ancientheart it is nice to meet you....? And yes that is what I call those who come from the roguelands. I myself was once from there, until I traveled to Peke'Na and joined this wonderful tribe." She waggled her tail back and forth slowly, her mood lifting.
"Well, welcome to Peke'Na home of the wild dogs." She smiled while greeting him. "The same could be said for you, you remind me of one of those bear creatures I saw a long time ago... a panda. At least I believe that is what that species was or is called." Her stomach growled angrily, it was as if her belly was yelling at her to feed it. "O-oh sorry!" She blushed with embarassment.

“Peke’Na?” Samaki questioned. He had never heard of it before, nor many other dog packs come to think of it. Instead, he was born to the roguelands and rather enjoyed the freedom to do whatever he pleased. Plus, the southlands were pretty much endless in Sam’s mind; therefore he could run all day without the limits of a boundary to stop him. There were some days he questioned what it would be like to live in a pack. Seeing as this female was part of one, what a better opportunity than now? “What’s it like to live there?” The female did mention it was so wonderful. What made it wonderful?
Samaki looked at himself. Man, he hadn’t heard of the Peke’na, nor had he seen a…panda…thing. “I need to stop running so much and stop and look at my surroundings,” the male dog joked. He’s ears perked forward at the sound of the stomach rumbling and he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Care to hunt? I can chase it out,” the male stood up, his tail beginning to wag again. “Oh, and it’s nice to meet you Ancientheart,” strange name, but Sam liked it. “I’m Samaki!”

" Yes, the Peke'Na." Ancientheart nodded her head as she confirmed his question. " What is so wonderful? Well, I would have to say the support. Not many felines 'venture out this way, mostly just canines. Which is actually quite nice, and you have no fear as everyone would jump in to protect the pack. Unlike the rogue lands, which is everyone on their own basically. Well it was like that for me anyways as I did not have any family. Plus another good thing about Peke'Na is that in a sense you are 'reborn'. You get a new chance at life, new name and new traditions. It's quite nice at least I believe it is. I used to have an old rogue name, which I can not tell unless you are my mate." She winked. "It is one of the rules of Peke'Na."
She laughed out loud at his remark about running. She found this bloke to be quite entertaining and cute. "Nice to meet you Samaki and sure that sounds quite lovely actually." She stood and followed his lead to an area that might have smaller creatures hiding within the foresty-tree area. "So you chase out the creature and I attack is that how it's going to work? You hungry too? I'm willing to share if you are."

Samaki listened intently as Ancientheart spoke of the Peke’Na lands. The support that a pack would offer was always a plus. Sam knew he could probably outrun any lion, leopard or cheetah, but others would find the task difficult. Still, it was interesting that once in the pack lands you would be given a new name. If Samaki had joined, he couldn’t think what kind of name would be given to him. He gave Ancientheart a dumbfounded look when she mentioned about her true name, and only her mate would know what it was. “Maybe if my path crosses these lands again, I will look more into it.” He could run the roguelands so many times, but running a rack lands would be a new experience.
The bluish gray dog followed the darker female towards the area filled with trees. “Yep!” Samaki yipped, keeping his voice quiet so it wouldn’t scare anything that may be around. The dog thought for a moment before bobbing his head in a nod. “I’d be willing to share, too.”

Ancientheart nodded and listened as he spoke. "Yes indeed, I hope you consider joining us but if not that is okay as well. No pressure." She smiled as she walked down the dirted path next to Samaki. Sniffing every now and then she picked up many of the creatures hiding away. Ancientheart licked her lips at the thought of filling up her empty stomach. " Alright, sounds like a plan." She stopped just outside the hunting grounds. "I am ready when you are Samaki." She walked further away from him to hide, getting into a pouncing position.
"Hopefully we get get either two rabbits or something that size to eat. Then afterwards I'm afraid I'll have to be on my way, not only to see that healer but to see what my duties are for the weeks ahead." She spoke somewhat quietly as to not give their positions away and alter the smaller creatures of their intent.

Samaki nodded. He crouched low to the ground, inching away from Ancientheart. What he wanted to do, was be on the opposite side of her, that way, he could chase a rabbit right into her plate. He kept his eyes peeled for any movement at all. Once he spotted one, a small snarl emitted from his throat as he took off after it, chasing the brown hare towards the female dog. “Getitgetitgetitgetitgetit!” He barked, running past Ancientheart before colliding into a bush.
“…I need to work on this stopping thing,” he flashed a sheepish grin from an upside down position, twigs and leaves tangled in his short fur.

Staying alert and focus she watched as her friend chased the rabbit towards her and almost winced as he collided with the bush. But she wasn't too distracted as she caught not only one but two rabbit. Once she knew they had passed on Ancientheart wandered over to her male companion and dropped their breakfast before him. "Stopping all comes with practice and time, so I wouldn't be too worried. Let's dig in shall we?" She made happy humming noises as she ate, it had been sometime since she last had rabbit.
A few moments passed as they continued to eat and once they were done, Ancientheart looked over at the other male. " Well it was nice to meet you Samaki, but I really should be getting back. I hope we meet again one day." She bowed in respect before dashing off to seek the elders as well as the healers.
