Another day, another…sea dollar?
Quidytch ears perked forward at the small white circle lying in the sand. The crimson lion picked up the creature, observing it. He had only seen them occasionally when shuffling through the sand, but never on a shore. He smiled, before placing it back into the water. Even though the ocean had washed it ashore, if it was still alive it would rather live in the water than the hot sand any day. Quidytch watched as the waves rolled back and forth across the Bahari lands. There was always something relaxing about it. He sat at the edge of the water, his tail flickering occasionally in it when the waves managed to reach him.
Yes, absolutely relaxing.

Dufi had been swimming which of course was one of her favourite things to do. She loved to swim and then chat to the waters, letting them know what she thought of everything. Today she had chatted to the waters first before swimming asking permission to swim in the salty waters.
She was just emerging from the water when she spotted the red lion. She had seen many red lions here and always thought it odd. Fire seemed like an odd choice to live by water then again she thought lots of things were odd that were perfectly normal, that was just how Dufi was.
She ignored the male, deciding instead to groom her now wet and salty coat. She would then of course thank the waters for allowing her to swim before starting up a large conversation and today she felt the topic would be on fish!

Quidytch hadn't even noticed the white female swimming in the ocean waters until she had eventually emerged from it. He took a look over her, noting the blue markings amidst a black one. He had seen the lioness around the pridelands before, but had never spoked with her. His eyebrows raised when she just bypassed him, as if he wasn't there. That was unusual...Usually they would say just a hello? or something. Hmm, well if she didn't make the first introductions, he sure would.
He raised to his feet, sand falling from his hind legs. He walked towards her as she began grooming herself. "Hello," he smiled to her. He looked at her white pelt and could only imagine how it might burn in the sun here on the beach.

She of course didn't think it odd in the slightest that she just ignored him, it was a perfectly normal thing to do. So when the male then came to her and said hi she looked a little surprised.
"Hello." She replied, she knew how to be polite but much more then that... well she wasn't all there. Her mother doted on her still and maybe it was her mothers position that allowed her to be in the pride but lack any real skills at anything. She couldn't hunt very well, not in the slightest.
"Have you come for a chat as well? The sea is always so talkative at this time of day." She then turned to look at the water before back at him. She would ask the ocean later what it thought of these red lions.

“Well…I came to chat but…wait chat with the sea?” Golden eyes peered at the oceans and the rocking motion it made as the waves tumbled over each other. A small smirk rose to his maw. “I guess I came to chat with the sea too.” He played along. Sure he knew the waters didn’t actually speak, but if this lioness believed that they did then he wouldn’t break that from her. “You may have to interpret what they say though, I failed water-speak as a cub,” he joked to the female, but wasn’t quite sure how the lioness would react to it.

Well he had her attention now.
"You speak with it to?" She did look slightly surprised. "Mother always thought I was a bit silly. Not everyone can understand it I think it blesses certain cubs." She smiled happily as she spoke, completely convinced that he thought she was normal.
"It's in a good mood today, it let me swim nicely and also said I could fish! Though I am rubbish at catching fish most of the time, I enjoy splashing too much. Do you like to fish? I think most do..." Oh yes she could ramble even if there was nothing to really ramble about.

"If you can understand it, then it must certainly bless cubs. You should feel proud to have that blessing bestowed upon you," he nodded, acting as this would be a normal conversation for his 'normal day talk'; in reality, it was far from it. "Being born in the land of the ocean and be able to speak to it, now you are one lucky girl." Even though Quidytch wasn't born her, was was sure he was born near some large body of water. The way that the water sparked his mind into memories just told him so.
"Fish are hard to catch," the red lion admitted. "They always slip out of my paws when I just think I got them. I love to fish, mainly for the challenge," he puffed out his chest to act all manly, but it soon deflated as he chuckled softly. He didn't really care about her rambles, in fact, he appreciated it. Sometimes he could spend the whole day without speaking to no one. This was a change in scenery.

"I know! Mother is head huntress here and father is well... I don't know. He is awesome but not really in the normal way. Mother says he likes to be lazy but thats why she likes him so much." Dufi was sure that this stranger would want all the details of her family and her brothers, who were surprisingly normal compared to her.
"So do you have a name... the waters wants to know." She smiled and then looked back at the waves. Yep they were clearly wanting something though possibly not what she thought they wanted. Dufi was curious though, if the male had said his name she had either ignored him or forgotten it, both of which were entirely possible with what she was like.
"Also do you want to try and fish now?" She looked hopeful. It wasn't often a lion would tolerate her for this long.

Quidytch listened to the female speak. He wasn’t sure if he had ever met her parents, but he was sure he had probably seen them around. The red lion was good at that, seeing others, just not grabbing their names. There was probably only a select few actually did remember; this lioness would be another to add to the list… Quidytch paused for a moment. They had not…introduced each other! When the lioness spoke that the waters questioned his name, Quidytch nodded.
“It’s Quidytch,” he said, looking towards the rolling waves of the ocean. “Do you have a name?” His golden eyes turned towards the female.
“I think I could go for some fish. As long as you promise not to laugh with they outsmart me!” he chuckled.

Dufi's ear's flicked forward as he said his name and smiled.
"Cool! My name is Dufi!" She then turned to the water and let it know what his name was and that he was red and how she thought that was slightly odd living near water. She also wasn't aware why saying all this that of course Quidytch could hear all of it. Then again she wasn't one who was good at being social. Once she had finished talking to the water she turned back to him.
"Okay lets go fishing!" She then jumped straight into the water, enjoying the cool waves hitting her sides. Yes this was the life!

Dufi, he definitely would remember that now. His ears flickered as she spoke to the waters, hearing the words she spoke. It may be have been slightly odd for the bright red lion to live by the water, but he could always counter the facts that some lobsters the washed ashore were also his pelt color, as well as a few crabs, and he had even seen a bright red fish on one of his morning swims. Even though he wasn’t blue, or green or any other hue of the ocean, the male lion still very much enjoyed living here.
Quidytch followed into the water right after her, the cool liquid hitting his fur. The one good thing about here was the sun was shining pretty much all time. When he would get out of the water, he would dry rather quickly. The lion loved the feeling of the wet sand from the sea squish in between his toes.
“Oh, I think I see one!” he said, pointed out to a quick fish darting back and forth in the water.

Dufi laughed as the water splashed around her though she soon stopped as Quidytch spoke.
"Already?" She then looked down in the water and saw that actually there were quite a few swimming about today and they didn't seem at all afraid of the two lions standing in the water.
"OH! They tickle!" She giggled a little but did her best not to move and so not to scare them all away. She had never had the fish come this close to her before.

His golden eyes had actually spotted a few fish swimming around. He stood still, and very quiet. Soon the fish of various sizes would come up to his legs, nipping at them as if they were food. He refused to laugh at the small tickling sensation the fish nips would give.
“On the count of three,” he whispered to Dufi, “we’ll both dive for one of them.”
“One…two…three!”

Dufi nodded, she was happy to go ahead with this! She waited for him to count and then dived catching two fish in one go. So she lied when she said she couldn't fish, she loved to fish but she made sure she generally looked bad at it. The down side was she also had a large mouthful of salty water that didn't taste too nice.
As she came up with the two fish in her mouth she headed straight for shore where she put them down and finally got the water out of her mouth. Oh how she hated salty water. It just tasted icky!!
"Did you get one?" She then turned back and called, "I have two!" Oh yes she was happy!

When Quidytch dived, he headed straight for the slower moving fish. As soon as he felt the slipperyness in his jaw, he resurfaced. His golden mane clings to his bright red fur as he held his kill proudly! "uhhuh!" he said probably as he swam to shore. Once on the dry sand, Qui placed his kill on the ground. He cried out when the 'lifeless' fish he had just caught wasn't a fish at all, but just a large piece of dark seaweed.
"...guess not," he sighed, smiling nonetheless. "I did say I was a bad fisher," he chuckled. "Great job!" He could never catch two in one go even if he tried. "You'll have to teach me to fish one day."
The red lion looked at the sky. Had they been out there that long already? The sun had moved into the position of the sky where it no longer was straight above you. "Time flies when you are having fun, doesn't it?" he commented.
