Above the lake, the sun began to wedge its way out from behind the mountains - painting the sky in colors of gold, purple, and pink. The colors washed the lake and bathed the landscape in the same, making the beautiful picture the Helberd woke up early for, every morning. Since the arrival of his children, Helberd had been entertaining an interesting notion. His dream had always been to acquire a herd of his own, and right now he was in a herd - not the leader of one, but he knew that he would have to some experience first, of course. Now though, the large male wondered if he would perhaps even become an elder! What a dream that would be. To be so knowledgeable, that he would be granted such an honor. This, this is want he wanted though.
But how? How would he achieve his goal? Of course he would have to meet a lot of other soquili, but there would be more than that. Helberd sighed and trotted up to the lake, taking a drink of the cool water. The air wasn't as bitterly cold as it had been recently, and so the large stag could predict that spring wasn't too far. This was a happy assumption, as Helberd couldn't wait for spring to arrive. Winter was not his favorite season. As the male lifted his head, he watched the light dance in between the cloud, making multiple colors. Perhaps, the dream of being a leader would intertwine and help him reach the goal of being a leader? Yes...perhaps...maybe he would even meet someone to help him with his plans...
