A silent form slipped through the darkness of the night. A sense of familiarity swept through the leopardess as the chill of the night wind rustled through the grasses, brushing against her fur. Ever since coming to this pride with her Pad Obadias, the leopardess had not been able to enjoy the night as much as she once did. Not that she hated the day, but it was just a foreign thing to her still to be so active under the sun. Most of her time traveling the rogue lands was spent under the cover of night.
Now she didn’t move because of any threat. Mihika was simply restless. She had snuck around the sleeping forms and walked outside to enjoy the night. Just looking up at the stars made her feel peaceful, much more relaxed.

Scheherazade knew she was going to catch alot of flack for it, but she couldn't help wandering out into the night. She wasn't far, just up in a little tree near the den. Still, no matter how close it was, she was going against her father's direct orders, and she could only sigh in defeat. Even when she was out doing what she wanted, she still felt guilty.
Her dazed eyes looked up at the moon with a troubled gleam. Up until now the young Banu hadn't bothered looking at Pad's as anything other than the opposite gender, but now...If the other Banu her age would just stop gossiping, she wouldn't have to think about it.
And speaking of Banu, she spotted her own mother on the prowl. "I wonder what she's going out?" The petite leopardess pondered. "Hrm~"

Mihika wanted to just flop down on the ground, but that was something that she knew was more for the day time. You coudln't really soak up the warmth of the moon after all. The thought made the leopardess grin, though her gaze was somewhat thoughtful. Why was the moon so different from the sun? It was a good question.
The female sighed and stretched out with a yawn. It really did feel like it had been forever since she had done this. By herself at least. The thought made her look sheepishly back towards the den, surely Obadias would understand that she had felt restless. When she went to look back away Mihika paused. Was there something up there? In the tree near the den it looked like a familiar white form was sitting there.
"Scheherazade?" The whisper carried towards her daughter and the leopardess soon followed.

"Uh oh." She chirped apathetically. Honestly, by this point, she didn't care who found her, so long as she was caught. The game had lost it's appeal hours ago.
The adolescent banu laid her head down on her curled paws, left hindleg free falling down the branch she was stretched out on. What would her mother say to her? Would it be bad? How bad? What kinds of birds were awake at night?
"Banu aren't supposed to be out by themselves at night." She chastised teasingly.

"Neither are daughters." Mihika looked at her daughter with a small frown, that quickly changed into a warm smile. As long as Scheherazade didn't go too far from the den, she wasn't going to get mad at her. "I heard that you were rather restless at night, so I guess this shouldn't surprise me." She commented before adding, "I won't tell Obadias if you don't."
Mihika studied the tree before laughing, "I suppose the poor thing wouldn't be able to hold both of us else I would climb up after you." Her tail flicked in the air behind her in humor. Finished circling the tree, the leopardess just sat on the ground and looked up at her daughter.
"So what do you do while you're out here?"

Scheherazade merely shrugged. "At little, I suppose," she apathetically turned her head to peer down at Mihika. "I like the night the better. It doesn't burn my fur as badly." Almost wistfully, she looked down at her furred leg before returning her gaze to her mother.
...then back to her tree with a giggle. "I wonder if we would fall quickly or slowly?" Scheherazade shook her head with a little laugh. "Either way, I wouldn't want to risk it. Father wouldn't like that at all." Oh, wouldn't he be mad! Or would he? Would he be concerned? When he slept, was it on his back or his stomach?
"Hrm?" Snapping back into reality, the young leopardess turned her bio-luminescent eyes to the Mother moon. "Let's see...I usually take a little walk, then I think about things. Tonight, I pondered over how well Amani, Faraji, and Behnam are doing on their quests." And on that note, she turned back to Mihika, "Is the rogue lands...dangerous? Will they all make it back okay?"

"Mmm'hmm." Mihika nodded before looking up at her daughter with a small frown, "That would be a reason." For a leopardess who loved to laze in the sun, Mihika felt bad for her daughter who was often hiding from the sunlight rather than basking in it like most others. Yet, she also envied Scheherazade for having such an easy choice between day and night. Mihika smiled. If the pride wasn't so active during the day, she would still be attached to the night herself.
"Quickly I would say, unless it caught on another branch." Replied Mihika without hesitation before laughing herself. "I doubt he would. Not to mention he would be watching us around any trees from then on." She grinned at the thought of Obadias and what he might do if they did cause such a ruckus in the middle of the night. Most likely he would have been worried about their safety - but still.
"Sounds nice." Mihika commented before blinking at hearing her daughter's thoughts, "I'm sure they're doing fine. Though who is this Behnam, Scheherazade?" Her gaze gleamed with interest. Had her daughter made a friend, or better yet found a potential Pad? While the thought depressed her the leopardess would be happy to hear that her daughter had found a potential love. She knew Scheherazade was beautiful, but more than that had sense about her.
The question about the roguelands made Mihika freeze, "Well..." she looked at her daughter before sighing. Might as well be truthful, "It depends on where the boys go. Some places are nice, but there are certain areas where even I tried not to wander. I'm sure they can handle themselves though." A faint grin tried to ease the worry in her eyes, "They're big, tough males after all."

"Do you think so?" Scheherazade tempted fate by rolling over onto her back, stretching her hind paws out to the bark. She had little worry, even as her spine glided over the branch. "I imagine their having wonderful adventures, full of lost Emir's and far away places." Apathetically, she held her paw to the moon. What glorious images dance through her head~
"Behnam? He's a friend who has challeneged me to look for a Pad before his return." She grinned. "He's quite the freak. When last we met, he was so proud of his scrappy mane. I wonder if it's grown in full yet? And more so, his being the son of a God." After recounting all of her thoughts, Scheherazade yawned, like the details mattered so little to her that she shouldn't be bothered.
"I'm sure they'll be fine. My brother's are fast, and Behnam's strong. I have to wonder, though; who will get back first?"

Mihika laughed under her breath at her daughter’s reply. What an interesting daughter she had! “I’m sure they are. Maybe they have met some demons too or rescued fair ladies?” A sly grin flickered across her face, “That or have been saved by some ladies.” She remembered how some Pads tended to get a bit confused in the rogue lands. Having banus to do most of the hunting and work really was bad on the poor boys. Her gaze glittered. Hopefully she had managed to teach her sons something before they had left about survival.
“Oooh?” Mihika smiled. So Scheherazade had a Pad that she was close with. That was good. Especially if they could tease each other without him getting upset at her daughter. Some Pads were so sensitive about things…she just shook her head. How any female could stand to be here without someone like Obadias to love she would never understand. “A god’s son?” She tilted her head before remembering the one Pad that was supposedly a god…still it was hard for her to grasp that they could really exist. “But I’m sure by the time he returns he’ll have a full mane.” She laughed, “You should have seen Obadias when he found me in the roguelands! His mane was still a bit rough itself, but now it’s grown in full and nice.”
Mihika nodded, “I agree with that. Still I guess maybe it’s because I’m their mother that I’m prone to worry?” Still it was true she had faith in her cubs that they would succed in whatever they decided to do. Even if it was…no. The leopardess shook her head. If that option were to happen then she would stick beside them even then. Her eyes blinked back water and the leopardess forced a smile as she looked back to her daughter, “Who knows? Maybe they’ll both come back together. As it is your mother is going to go back inside to check on her Pad.” The word flitted from her mouth like a secret joke and with another grin the leopardess turned and headed away.
She probably wouldn’t go back inside yet, but wander the edges of the pride as she was prone to do. Especially when her heart was torn like it was tonight.

Scheherazade laughed slightly. "I can see that. Especially with Amani. I wonder if he's developed into a real Banu while he's been in the rogue lands, or if he's still in denial." The way she said it came off as if she truly believed it was her sister and not her brother she spoke off. Honestly though, the boy needed to come into his own, and soon, if he wanted to be taken seriously by the other males. That much she could see.
"Oh yes," she said wistfully. The young leopardess pushed her hindpaws against the tree bark, scraping intricate designs on the way down. "I've seen them, his father's wings. In passing, mind you, but so...." She held her paws up to the sky. "...light." One perfectly poised claw touched the moon before falling to the wayside.
"Tell him that I'm well. It wouldn't do for him to worry like he does." The statement went for her mother as well, and Scheherazade knew that the older leopard could tell. She wasn't what some might call 'happy' with the pride, but she was content with her lot in life, and Behnam was a very promising Pad. One day, maybe she really could say that she loved him, but only time would tell.
