Ok, I noticed a lot of the people in this guild are Digital artists and I am interested in becomeing one myself, I've been saving up my money to eventualy get a graphics tablet, but I don't know what kind I should be saving up for. If some people could give me some sugestions on what kinds they prefer, that would be awesome. (I want one strictly for art, if that helps any.) ^__^

I know many people who have tablets, I also have one myself. I found that Wacom is the best, they are expensive depending on what size or kind you get. I would suggest one about the size or BIGGER than paper, beware on ones that are just used for surfing the web. The price ranges can go from $200-$2000 dollars or more.
When you get one download the trial or buy Photoshop, the programs that came with my Wacom Bamboo tablet sucked and were not useful. I hope this helps. ^_^

Yeah, I've heard Wacom and Bamboo are good brands, but I'm not sure exactly which of there tablets are best. What is the exact one you have?
I already have photoshop, so I don't have to worry about that. ^__^
Thanks.

Bamboo is a type of tablet produced by Wacom. I own an Intuos3 myself, though several of my friends own Bamboo. Personally from what I've heard Bamboo are cheap for a reason. My Intuos3 I've had for 4 years, no problems, while they've had problems with theirs after about 6 months.

Bamboo are about 75$, and mine was about 100$. The price went down because of the newer generation of tablet, Intuos4, which has touch-sensitive abilities that the others don't...kind of like how an iPod uses touch to zoom in/out, so does the Intuos4.

I can't say much about other brands, though I suggest reading the reviews and buying online.

As for size, it really doesn't matter. It's all personal preference. The Intuos, at least, have the ability to proportion themselves to your screen, so a 6x5 tablet works the same as a 12x11 tablet for instance. I prefer smaller so I can take it with me. My friend prefers larger because he likes to feel like he's using longer strokes, and because there are more side buttons which you can configure to shortcuts.

I bought my Bamboo awhile ago and it cost 250 dollars, it has worked fine as long as I have had it, my friends have the same brand longer, no issues. New version, I suppose?

In My Bedroom

Maybe my friends bought a different type of Bamboo then, since the price difference is so massive.
Ye, I'd agree and say you probably have a new/better version. There weren't any models of the Bamboo above 150$ at our BestBuy. xD

I've only ever known of the brand Bamboo since i have one~

To be exsact i have Bamboo Wacom , touch and pen -> Bamboo fun. I think its called o u o.
The touch is crappy but i never really tried to use it much, maybe thats why > u >

But they should be around 100£ which i'm guessing it 90$ for you, though it ranges on the size.

Thank you, that's very helpfull. I'll research the Intuos3 and Intuos4 and see if I like them. ^__^

I bought my Wacom Bamboo One just as an introduction to tablets when I was new to digital art and I have to say I've never had any problems with it, and produce art to a decent degree with it too. (Thats my personal skill really though, rather than the tablet)

It only cost me £30 too (around $40? I dunno exchange rates...) anyway, if you're new to graphics tablets and digital art it might be better to start with this cheaper variety and maybe upgrade once you are used to the tablet since you almost have to teach yourself to draw again with them....IDK XD
