Sara's words before were true, she was no warrior and she had no desire to be. However even she at this moment had to admit that it would be very useful to know how to defend herself, she was completely unarmed and she was facing a armed foe with a lot more experience than her, she knew that she needed some kind of miracle to come out of this one on top. As the word came down, she jumped backwards, it skimmed her breast plate, the scratch just enough to draw a little bit of blood but it seemed like she has dodged the main hit.

It did not change the fact it stung like a b***h, especially to someone who was not used to seeing her own blood. She had never been sliced with a sword before and it was not something she would like to experience again. She held her hand to her chest looking at the fresh, wet, red fluid on her fingers. Her eyes then went back to her attacker, she could not take her eyes off him for a second. It was easy to see that she was terrified of him, a small part of her was screaming for her to forget her ankle and try to run but she knew she could not. "Sakn! its your body, your spirit is dominant over hers. concentrate, fight back. Force her from your mind. Tell your hand to drop the sword. They are your fingers."

She only needed a second, a second of reluctance to be able to make a move to attempt to get the weapon from his hand. Sara backed away as she spoke until she was against a tree . If she had no weapon to use, she would use what was at her disposal. She got ready, for when her foe struck she was ready to duck out the way. Hopefully the blade would get stuck in the tree and it would give her a few more seconds.

Sakn wanted nothing more then to close his eyes when the dao came swinging down. He imagined the death before it happened, the blood and the pain and her screams. He didn't want to see her die, because he knew now that this wasn't justice. This was a game, this right here was unfair. They, him and Hyun Chun, had done justice together, he knew that, but this time was wrong. Sara was no deathdealer for the Legion, or some self-righteous healer who ignored the pains and woes of suffering Nobles and peasants. She was woman of heart, someone who wished(like Xiu did, like Sakn did) the war was gone, over, done.

They were on the same side, and yet, he was going to kill her.

When Sara dodged the blade with only a small wound, the young man felt relief, mentally, but that feeling was soon overwhelmed by Hyun's frustration, which flooded his system like water from a broken dam. He felt the growl of frustration vibrate from deep in his stomach, spilling out of his lips; a sharp, feminine sound of disgust.

But the rage was quickly replaced with sickeningly sweet laughter as Sara begged for Sakn to fight back. Hyun was amused. This girl seemed to think she could use her words and that they would actually work!

"Oh Sakngea, Sakn Sakn Sakn," Hyun Chun purred, her words slipping from Sakns voices in a far to comfortable manner; as if she owned him. She paced towards Sara, who had pressed herself against a tree, "Is that all you have to say, foolish girl? Will that be the last thing you say before you die?"

Sakn's arm raised high again, the dao glinting in the moon light, and while the redhead couldn't stop Hyun, he could put his own power into her swing. So when his arm came down, he pushed all his will into the motion, and his arm jerked ever so slightly, narrowly missing Sara's neck and instead wedging deep into the tree.

HOW DARE YOU!

Sakn shuddered, in uncertainty. If Sara escaped (or was killed), Sakn would feel Hyun's pain for a long time, but he just couldn't let this happen. Couldn't become like that man who killed Sothy. He didn't want to be someones murderer(oh, how he already was though, wasn't he?). Hyun struggled to pull the sword out of the tree then, but when it didn't budge, she turned Sakn's eyes back onto Sara.

"I suppose I must do this the old way, then. Now stop fighting it, girl. Let death take you, like it will take all the Legion."

As she spoke, Sakn's hand shot out, tangling in Sara's hair, attempting to hold her, to keep her from running. Hyun let her other hand drag rough nails against the girls neck, hard but not skin-breaking.

"Time to go, stupid girl."

She cringed as the blade missed her by a inch. That could have ended very badly, Sakn... he must have helped her. There was no way the spirit would have missed such a clear strike. Not in one million years, she stared as the women spoke again and again trying to scare and aggregate her. Her hair dropped over her green eyes, stiff as a board she did not know how to react. Then she felt something bubbling away, it might have been fear, it might have been anger or maybe it was just this b***h pissing pushing her again and again but something snapped. Just for a second she was more infuriated than scared. ( That soon passed but not before she did the bravest thing Sara has probably ever done. )

"Shut up... shut up... SHUT UP! YOU STUPID OLD HAG!" She shouted as she lunged forward wrapping her arms around the waist of Sakn and throwing all her body weight into pushing him forward. She could feel herself falling forward and the impact when Sakn fell on his back with her on top of him, she just wanted him to get away from the weapon, she stood more of a chance if they were both unarmed. She leaned up and tried make a grab of his wrists. She knew she could not overpower him but she needed to try. She was regretting it now...

She knew he was in there somewhere and she knew that if she did not help him regain control he would not stop at her, he would never stop until every last drop of Legion blood has been spilt.

While he couldn't stop anything Hyun did, Sakn could feel pain, and as Sara tackled him to the ground, he felt the air being ripped from his lungs, felt the bite of twigs and dirt and rocks in his back, the groan of his shoulder blades as they pushed against the hard earth.

And while the young man could feel Sara's weight on top of him, her warmth and fear radiating against his skin; her hands clasping weakly onto his wrists, he couldn't stop Hyun from hurting her. It drove the redhead mad, made him wanted to scream. This wasn't justice! This wasn't right!

"How dare you!" Hyun screeched, trashing against Sara as the girl attempted to hold him down. It wasn't hard for Sakn to get the petite Legionnaire off him either, and with a single hard jerk, his hands came free and Hyun shoved the girl off him with a hard palm thrust to the chest.

He stood up smoothly then, and Hyun dusted off his pants before moving over to the girl who lay on her back, knees cracking down on the earth painfully, one on either side of Sara.

"Such fire in these eyes, Sakngea. Watch me as I put them out," Hyun cackled, nails dragging down Sara's cheek, meant to leave red welts in its wake; daring the young girl to fight back, wanting her to fight back.

This was just a game, after all. A little game of cat and mouse.

She was shoved back and suddenly found herself looking up at the dim stars and long branches which were scattered across the sky. The air was cold... the blackness of night had taken over the day and all she could see around them was black. She should be home now but instead she was here.

Sara looked up at him as he perched over the top of her. Digging his nails into her cheeks. She was limp for the time being, she was still playing with her. It was all a game. She was not even trying to win, she will just playing with her emotions. She was enjoying her fear and using it to torment Sakn. She looked up into the eyes which no longer belonged to the red head. Even they seemed to have changed from this morning. "Sakn..." She uttered, she knew it was hopeless calling for him but she could not give up. She needed him now. She knew that even though she was struggling he had to fight ten times harder...

Her nimble fingers reached out, wrapping themselves around a nearby rock. Her eyes never left those of her attacker and then in one swift movement she brought up the rock in an attempt to hit the witch in the side of her head. Anything was better than the position she was in now, and who knows she might get lucky for the second time today. She still did now want to hurt him and she was concious of the fact that whatever injuries she did to him were to him and not the spirit, but... what choice did she have? Was she not meant to fight back... she did not know what to do but her gut was telling her to fight, and prey that he would be able to regain control before one of them lost...

Sakn's face twisted into a sneer as Sara uttered his name; Hyun was both disgusted and darkly amused by the girls constant pleading, while Sakngea himself felt a stab of guilt rush through him at the words. He wanted nothing more then for this to stop. Just all this to stop. The teasing, the games.

Please, he begged to Hyun, his voice broken and tired, Stop. I can' take it, I'm going mad. I won't argue anymore, just stop. I'm sorry Hyun, I'm sorry. Don't do this though, let her go. I'll do anything, just don't kill her.

Hyun paused for a moment, thinking over the young mans words as they echoed through his mind, his nails digging tightly into Sara's cheeks. It would seem, for a moment, that she actually was giving pause to really think it over. As if she really, truly felt for Sakn, as if she really would say yes to his pleas.

But there was no way she would agree to them, and even though Sakn begged her, he knew it was useless. She was set on punishing him, set on killing this girl; not only because of her alliance, but because of his foolishness. If he had only killed her quickly, hadn't paused and considered his actions...perhaps, at least, she would have died quickly. This torture was worse then any silence death brought. And he had done this to her, brought this upon her.

"Look, Sakngea, it would seem our fiery little girl has finally accepted her fa--" Hyun started with a sneer, her sight focused on Sara's face, instead of her hand, only to be cut off as pain ricocheted throughout Sakn's body. The rock had connected firmly with the young mans temple, and both Hyun and the redhead himself could feel the throbbing pain and the warm trickle of blood as it spilled from the nasty gash on his head, blinding his left eye with the river of blood.

Sakngea stumbled back, scrambling awkwardly to his feet, clutching his head in pain before he noticed something. It was him, stumbling back, him feeling the intensity; clutching his head. The blow had knocked Hyun back for a moment, made her lose her concentration. And Sakn looked at Sara in that moment, and he knew that it wouldn't last, could already feel Hyun crawling back, demanding control again. His face crumpled and he said as calmly as he could, "Dun' be afraid t'do what y'gotta do. I w'ud do the same," he knew what needed to be done. He knew there was no other way. Either Sara would die tonight, or he would.

A violently shudder coursed through his body then, as Hyun Chun reclaimed control, and Sakn's face became malevolent, vicious and cruel. "You little b***h," she hissed, hand still pressed to the bleeding head wound, before stepping forward to grab the girl by the front of her top, pulling her up off the ground and close to him, "You will pay for that, dearly," she accentuated this by throwing Sara back on the ground, hopefully knocking the air out of her, before pinning her down like he had done before(if a little more aware of her hands now).

"I'll choke the life out of you, you little thorn in my side, and after that, I'll destroy all those you love, all those you hold close. I'll tear them apart, limb by limb," Hyun was off the edge now, a monster of fury and insult; her rage radiated out of Sakn's body like a heatwave, and she spoke between gritted and bared teeth; Sakn's fingers clutching the healers throat, feeling her heart racing underneath.

Knowing that unless something changed soon, he would feel that beat fade, feel this innocent girl die beneath his hand.

And there would be nothing he could do.

She had him! He was only there for a second, that nock to the noggin made him come to his senses. A wave to relief hit her and foolishly she thought that was the end of it. Needless to say it was not and when the words he spoke rang in her ears the small smile she had gained vanished.

All she had truly managed to achieve was to piss the spirit off and now she was not in the mood for games, she suddenly became suddenly aggressive and she started to pull Sara around like a rag doll, there was nothing she could do about it either. Her eyes were red with the amount of water that had fell from them today, her ankle was swollen, her breast plate stung with the clean cut she had received earlier and there were sticks and stones in her back from when she was pushed on the floor. Not huge injuries however they were starting to pile up, every inch of her ached.

Then she was helpless once more, staring in the eyes of her furious attacker. She shook her head at her comments she was making. She would not get her family, her parents were safe in a small village miles away and she would pity Sakn if Hua every got her hands on him. The wolf woman was an idol to Sara, she was strong, beautiful and everything she admired in a person. She had convinced herself that she could never be beaten. It might be the idea of a deluded child but she had faith in the fact that Hua would not fall, especially not to her. “You will never touch them; even if I have to come after you from the other side... you will not lay a finger on their heads.”

She uttered as her hand wrapped around her throat, pushing her necklace deep into her skin, the sharp edge digging in. She could not breathe. She put her own hands on the hands of Sakn. She needed to breathe. Was this it for her? She was terrified, trembling like a leaf not only because of the attack but the lack of oxygen. She did not want to do this, she did not want to be a fighter, and she did not have the heart or the courage for it; however she did not want to die here either. “... Please...”

She gasped for air, she was no fighter... and she would not live by their rules if it meant getting away. She did something she promised her Daddy she would never do again after a play fight gone wrong and with the little strength she had aimed her knee to come up on.... sensitive parts.

It was strange, to feel sick to your stomach, yet not be able to do anything about it. Sakn felt nauseous as his fingers clamped down on Sara's neck, felt disgusted and wrong as he felt the life slowly bleeding from her. She was innocent, and those were the people he wanted to save. If he killed her, what was to stop him from killing Xiu or Yue or Kiran?

But Hyun was strong, where as Sakn was tired and weak from recent fights and blood loss. She had no human body, so she had no physical fatigue; she was born from hate and fear, and she fed of it like a fine dinner. A smile was cracking on the young mans face, the smile of a monster, and those long calloused fingers squeezed ever so eagerly, hungry for the death of another Legion dog.

And it would seem she was not expecting much more fighting out of Sara, for when the girl kicked up, hitting Sakn squarely between the legs, Hyun howled, the pain spreading through Sakn's body. She rolled off the girl again and rested on his hands and knees, gasping as rolls and waves of pain rushed through the boy's body.

Sakn felt the heaving before it came, and coughed violently. Sara could definitely kick. He almost felt proud, except for the fact that he hurt severely now. At least she could get away, at least she could do something.

IT ACTUALLY WORKED!

She coughed as the man rolled from her, she hoped her Daddy would forgive her for that one, however if he knew the circumstances he would probably have told her to do it again and again until Sakn could no longer stand. She gasped, leaning up and coughing herself, her necklace had cracked and with one pull it fell from around her neck, the pressure on her throat bruising it most of the way around, the edges had gone into her skin and caused red marks.

She turned and crawled some, soon it became a hop. Things would have been so much easier if she had not fallen over that rock! She limped over to the tree resting against it. Gasping for air still as she looked back at him. She wrapped her hand around the end of the sword which was still stuck tight in its side closing her eyes and concentrating. It was all about converting energy. She panted and pulled, she did not know if the skill had worked and given her strength or adrenaline was kicking in but she managed to pull it out. As it came free she fell to the ground, she could not stay awake for much longer.

The lack or oxygen had made her very sleepy....

His whole body shook, and perhaps, to someone unaware of the situation, it would look like it was the shake of fatigue, but upon closer inspection, it was evident that his body was vibrating with barely controlled rage. Hyun was insulted, embarrassed that a weak, pathetic girl such as Sara had managed to struggle for so long; to evade her death for so long. She was furious, and she would not let this continue.

The girl would die.

Sakn could feel his master's hate, loathing and rage oozed from his every pore as she forced his body to stand. He could feel it burning his soul, licking at his spirit like a hungry fire; there would be no escape from her now. No chance to run. If that girl expected to live through this, there would be only one way to do so. The redhead had come to accept this, even though the chance was slim, and he thought of the people he had tried to protect. Would they be proud of him at all? Or would they be disgusted when they found out what he had done, what he was now. Would they see why he had done it? Or only see the blood stained on his hands and soul?

He turned to face the girl, and a smile, vicious and taunting, curled on his face. The girl had managed to pull the dao from the tree, and it was clutched in her hand as she lay on the ground, the grass cushioning her as she stared upwards. Hyun could feel her exhaustion in the air; this would be simple now. The stupid girl was tired and weak, she had no endurance; she was foolish to even think she had a chance. Just as Sakngea was foolish to think she could kill him. She was a rabbit, and Hyun was a fox. She would tear Sara apart, and Sakn would watch it all behind the bars of his mind.

Perhaps, after this, I will kill your little Legion friends as well. They got off last time, but I think their deaths will be a proper punishment for your misbehavior. Don't you think so, darling?

Sakn wanted to scream, to protest. The thought of Yue...Jianyu even...all of them dead because of one stupid title, because of the choices he had made. The redhead felt ill, even though his body was not his own. He felt sick and dirty and wrong. But there was nothing he could do except hope that things would end differently, that everything would be alright.

"Sara" Hyun purred as Sakn moved towards the girl, her voice cold and calculating, cruel and ruthless, "Don't tell me you're tired all ready, little girl. I thought this was just the beginning!" she laughed then, calmly straddling the girl, looking down at her; at her face, tasting the fear and death with a lick of his lips; eyes dilating with adrenaline.

"How sad, and I hoped we could have some fun before you gave up," Hyun sounded almost upset as she spoke, Sakn's face twisted into a sickeningly sweet pout before he felt his hands once again around the girls neck; tightening, squeezing. This was too easy, and did little to slate the malicious spirit's need for blood, but it would do for now.

She didn't even bother to removed the sword from the girls hand; too proud and too certain Hyun was about the outcome of this battle. It would certainly end in her favor. Sara was too weak to fight back. Just like the rest of the spineless Legion whores.

"Time to die, little girl."

Sakn wanted to close his eyes, but couldn't, wanted to run, but couldn't. So he tried his hardest, instead, to urge Sara to fight back, to do what needed to be done. For his sake, for her sake, for the sake of the City and its people as a whole. Hyun would not stop until everything was red, until the walls and windows and shops were painted red. Someone had to stop it, because he couldn't.

I'm too weak...

Of course you are, sweets. But that's why you came to me. I gave you power. I am your power. Without me, you are nothing.

Sara had never held a sword before. She could not say she liked it very much, especially because she had every intention to use it. She had healed him, if she let him go on it would be her fault. As she lay on the ground once more her air was once again cut off, she could feel herself slipping in and out of conciousness. This was it, it would end one way or another and she was sure as hell she did not want to die today. She doubted he did either...

She felt disconnected from the situation, was she a killer? Did she have the balls to end his life? Maybe if this was him however it was not his fault. She would kill a innocent man for her own life? She looked up at him, into his eyes, tears running down her face which was red from suffocation. "Sakn, I am so sorry... forgive me." She choked with her last little bit of air. She lifted the blade with her arm and as quick as she could jolted it around his back. Then she hit him...

Human flesh was like butter to a sharpened blade. Her body flopped, her eyes wide and shaking, she was done. However she could feel a warm puddle dripping down onto her stomach.

W-what had she done?

When she came to Lunaria she was told that if she did not want to she did not have to get involved with the fighting, being loyal to the Legion was enough, she was seriously beginning to doubt that because no matter if she wanted to fight or not there would always be someone who wanted to and being a Legion meant that every so often someone would want to hurt her. She needed to learn how to defend herself, she could not expect Hua to put her life on the line for her even if it was her duty.

She would not want anyone getting hurt for her. Even Sakn...
PostPosted: Wed Mar 02, 2011 3:49 am

The pain was intense, but Sakn welcomed it. The bite of the sword burned him like a thousand fires as it slid into his stomach, yet he embraced the moment. This would be the end, and even if he died, at least it would stop Hyun. At least he wouldn't kill Sara. At least there would be no more blood on his already soiled hands.

At least Xiu wouldn't see him as the monster he had become.

The young man rolled off Sara after the moment of shock had worn off, awkwardly pulling the bloodied sword from his body as he moved, and groaned heavily. But he didn't feel upset, because when he moved, when he felt the pain, it was his own. Not Hyun Chun's, but his. He was in control again, and the redhead wanted to laugh at how ironic it was. Stabbed in the gut, bound to die, and finally free; in control. But even the flexing of his stomach sent rockets of pain into the redheads brain, so he only smiled bitterly up at the night sky.

At least he was free now.

Free? You think I'm done? You think I would give up so easily? Oh, Sakn, you are indeed a foolish boy. I will push your body till it can be pushed no more, and then I will leave you to die. But not until then, not until you've had every drop of blood drained from your body.

Tears, angry and upset, pricked Sakn's eyes as the voice snapped into his head, frustration evident on his face. And then it went blank; a mask of emptiness before he raised his hand and flexed it, testing his movements. Testing her control.

Hyun could feel the wall now, the stubbornness that was Sakn's own will pressing against her now, trying to force her back, and coupled with the pain that was burning through the boys body, she was finding it hard to keep the connection between her soul and his body, but in the end, she had the reigns, and Sakn groaned loudly as he stood, on drunken legs that soon stiffened. Yes, she would run him until he died, but he would die only after this stupid girl.

The girl had to go first.

As his eyes landed on her, Hyun couldn't stop the bubbling of rage that took over her, and Sakn could feel the lick of her anger on his skin, a cold so intense it burned. His fists clenched, and once again, Hyun's voice spilled from his numb lips, "You think I would just roll over and give up if you stabbed me? THIS ISN'T MY BODY! Why would I care if he died? You can't kill what's already dead, girl! He'll bleed out and I'll wait for another fool to cross my path. But first, before he goes, get up. GET UP AND FIGHT! You think you are so brave with your sword and your words, so get up and cut me down! Kill Sakn, murder him in the name of your Emperor! Get up!" Hyun's voice rose in pitch with each word she spoke, and at the end, she was near screaming, her voice straining Sakn's voicebox as his whole body shook with her rage.

But under the shake of anger was the shudders of exhaustion, Sakn could feel his body lagging, slow and lethargic, and even though Hyun was in control, he knew it would not be long before the end came. His eyes were heavy, even though they stayed forced open, and his limbs were like lead. Hyun would believe otherwise, but he knew his body, he knew the limitations of mortality; she had been dead far to long to remember what exhaustion felt like.

She was foolish.

At least she would be stopped, even if only for a short while.

Sara sat up and looked at Sakn, she knew the feeling. She was numb but she was alive, she was running on second wind. Knowing the fight was almost over gave her the strength to carry on, if she gave up now all of this would be for nothing.

"Do you really think that witch. That everyone holds their loyalty so close to there heart its all that matters to them? I have never met the Emperor, he does not mean anything to me. I am a Legionary because Hua is a Legionary because my teachers are Legionary, because the legion has given me so much, a home, a chance to learn. This war that you hold so dear means nothing to me, if men need to fight instead of looking for a diplomatic solution then so be it but I will not have a part of it. Just pick up the pieces of those who have to endure sacrifices for it." Sara was not a supporter of violence, neither side battling was evil, neither was good. However both sides held monsters, monsters like this spirit who wanted to spill blood for the sake of it. There was a difference between a solider and a murder. That difference being that one was the kind of person to give their live to protect another and the other did not give a damn about it. Sakn was a solider, the spirit was the villain.

What did that make Sara? She was not either....

"I would not kill a man just because of his morals and choices. A man's fate lies with the spirits but you are very wrong witch, you can die twice and I will make sure you do." It was a promise, she was not going to kill Sakn to protect herself, however if his fate was tied to that of the spirit she had to stop him... if she did not its her loved ones which will pay the price. God please, let him be okay. Sara would never forgive herself if she took the life of a innocent man, even if she had no choice in the matter. It would be going against everything she believed in, it would make her a hypocrite. She rose from the ground and closed her eyes, killing Sakn would not stop the spirit, she could go on to the next victim... she needed to calm the angry ghost. She needed to lay her to rest once and for all. She looked down at her hand, and concentrated, anything she had left, she would concentrate it in her palm. Not leaving any energy spare, this was it. She clutched her hand and stared at Sakn's bloodied body.

She hoped that he could endure just a little more. Please Sakn. She gritted her teeth, tears once more flowing from her eyes. She did not want to do this, however the fear had melted into will power, she was not going to die here. She would not let her life be taken! Not when her journey was just beginning. "Now rot in hell, b***h!" She called, lunging forward aiming for Sakn's chest, the energy she had collected in her palm ready to strike and pulse threw him. She did not know if this would work....

But she preyed it would.
