Another day, another failed attempt at finding Charlie.

He was pretty hard to find. You know, for an exciteable, pink haired Demon. He found a pink haired demon, but he was pretty sure she didn't like being compared to Charlie. Not that he cared, of course.

For now at least, he was giving up. It was time to stare at the sky!

The buds to his eyePod securely in his ears, Mac sprawled out on the ground outside of the Reaper dorms; his arms folded behind his head and Whip, his grumpy little Whip-poor-Will bird, nesting on his chest. Mac was too busy staring at the beautifully foggy sky to really care that Whip was staring at him in what could only be described as distain.

...Or that he was laying on the actual path into the dorms itself, a few feet from the stairway to the doors.

Details, details.

Done with classes for the day, Coralie was off to fly again. She'd been a bit busy the past few days and hadn't been able to do it as much as she'd have liked, so she was itching to get into the air. She had snatched Luka and forced him to come along too. The little black cat's mooning over her wishing comet was getting rather tiresome. A bit of a bumpy ride might do him some good.

When she stepped out of the Reaper dorm, broom in hand, cat on shoulder, and hat-familiar on head, she almost failed to notice the boil strewn out in the middle of the way. Her foot was in the air, midway to the ground, or where the ground would have been if he wasn't there, when she'd stopped. She was very tempted to step on him anyway, as it was his choice to be there, but instead opted for a prod with her gray laced up shoes.

"Beds and the underside of trees not comfortable enough anymore?" she asked, her voice filled with dry amusement. Wilfred began to sputter from her head, apparently not amused, "Dem lazy hool-gains, can't move out o' the path 'fore laying 'selves down?!"

Mac was only vaguely aware of the sound of another's footsteps; however it wasn't until Whip started figeting on his chest did he bother to acknowledge it. Black eyes peered open, starting at the prodding foot and moving his gaze up towards her face. Once there, a wide grin split on his lips and he moved to prop himself up on his elbows, prompting the whip-poor-will to flutter off of his chest and to instead nest on his hat.

"Oh, they're plenty comfortable. I actually wouldn't recommend laying on a pathway unless you have a specific reason to, it's not as comfortable as you'd think." He informed her, climbing to his feet and taking a moment to dust himself off. Wait...did her hat talk? It did. It was nagging, too. "That must get annoying." He commented idly, black eyes on the funny-talking hat.

"I'm Mac." His nickname rolled off of his tongue before he could stop it; not that he would have stopped it anyway. It was clear that the boil was ignoring the Whip-poor-Will bird on his hat, who was ruffling his feathers in an attempt to make him look bigger to the Cat on the other Reaper's shoulders. Cats were bad, Cats were bad!

"Mind if I ask as to why you chose to lie there? Sounds like you must have specific reason then," Coralie asked with raised brows. She didn't miss a beat, serious or not. She latched onto anything interesting and if he was, say, lying in wait for someone, she wasn't to know. She was curious.

She passed a glance at Wilfred, as if she hadn't noticed him there, "Mm? Oh, Wilfred? I tend to drown him out. Trust me, if I need privacy I leave him behind." At that she grinned knowingly. She certainly didn't have Wilfred around when she and Morton were together lately.

"Cora," she offered in return, not even bothering with her full name. She didn't like to be called by it. There were only a select few she let use it, actually. Luka brought his wide, blue eyes to rest on the bird. His tail began to whip back and forth eagerly. Bird! Birds were fun!

"Say what you will, it's a great way to meet new people." Was Mac's answer to her question as to why he was laying on the path. It was important for him to meet new people; so far his only friend here was a Demon, and that just wouldn't do. He'd had that friend his whole life, it was time for a new one. Sadly he had to meet people to make friends with them, and for whatever reason this seemed like a great way to meet people.

"I just transferred in not too long ago, I figure any excuse is a good one." Nodding, his gaze went back to her hat; he was happy his hat didn't talk, how on Halloween would you tune out something that was on your head? It seemed similar to ignoring your thoughts, at least to him. An odd thought to have, considering he was ignoring his Whip-poor-Will bird, whom was loudly bringing justice to the onomatopoeia that was it's specie name in an attempt to scare the feline off.

"Well, nice to meet you Cora...and Wilfred, I guess." He had never addressed a hat before, he wasn't quite sure what to do with it, but...that seemed like an okay thing to say. "So." Mac hummed, really not having planned much further than meeting someone.

"Where are you off to? Classes?"

Coralie couldn't help but laugh. Well, that was certainly creative. And interesting too. She could respect that. "I suppose that's fair. You did meet me, after all, if only because I was going to step on you. I don't know if it's particularly memorable but...well who knows." There were worse ways to meet people. In class and the like, those were forgettable meetings.

"Same to you," she said with a tip of her hat, who responded in turn, "Would be nicer if ya weren't all lain out like a worn doormat!" Despite the insult her hat offered, Cora didn't seem to mind. If he got out of hand, she did something about it. Otherwise, she let him be. She didn't expect anyone to take him seriously. She didn't.

"Nah, I'm done with those. I'm going flying," she gestured at her broom with a grin that lit her eyes. She did ever so love flying. Luka made a jump at the bird, but Cora caught him expertly mid-air. Apparently he'd done that before; she didn't look too surprised.

"I'd like to think I'd remember anyone I stepped on." Mac chuckled, pointedly ignoring the hat's snarking to instead pay more attention to Cora. She was much more interesting than a stupid old hat anyway!

"Flying! That's awesome!" The whippoorwill's scream nearly drowned out Mac's proclamation, and the excessively loud bird continued making noise even as the feline was caught and contained. "Man, I wish I could fly." Mac went on to say, reaching up to trap the flailing bird between his hands, bringing the pet in front of him, against his chest and assaulted with pets until it calmed down at least a little bit.

"Mind if I watch? I think Whip could use the excersize, too." He added, nodding to gesture at the bird in his hands.
