Shibasa was chasing his familiar again. Sure it was entertaining, but he'd never admit that to Nobo. "You b*****d! You stole the best part!" "You never eat the eyes!" Nobo yelled back. "Because you're always--" He stopped, feeling the familiar sensation of something more powerful approaching. Somewhere nearby--he looked around, wondering where in the hell they were this time, then gave up--there was a god of some sort. Man his life sucked. Nobo glanced back, wondering why he had stopped chasing him, then landed, looking around as well.

Padding along, Xavier reveled for a while in being away from all those lionesses and cubs. Granted, there was that weird pink male hanging around... He didn't seem dangerous, though, so Xavier had left him in charge, more or less. On the god's back rode a jade-green hare and a corpse-green vulture. Neither seemed to mind the other, opting to sway with the lion's steps, and the lion seemed to not mind the p***k of vulture claws in his back. Of course, the lion wasn't normal, either. with his long ears, thick tail, and the ridge of mane going down his spine. As he stepped over a log, claws pricked the dirt.Yutu's ears twitched, as he looked around. Unlike Vunde, the hare was ever attentive. And he spotted the red and black vulture before he spotted the lion. "Master, we have company!"The green vulture opened one green eye, looking up to where the hare indicated. Another scavenger, how delightful! He rustled his feathers, clacking his beak a bit. "Maybe they have food to share..." He noticed the hare's disgusted look. "It's life, Bunny Boy, things die and things eat them... And WE lean up after them." He crouched, before jumping off the lion's back, flaring his wings and circling overhead. Below him, the god stopped to watch the strangers approach.

Shibasa took a deep breath, wondering what this fellow represented. With his luck, it probably wasn't anything great, like free food, or maybe the god of harems, or something--then again, with all the crazy females he'd met along the way, he wasn't sure he could handle a harem... But still, it would be interesting.
"You wouldn't happen to be the god of harems, or free food, would you?" Shibasa asked as he approached the god. "How about fresh water? That would be a good god to meet, I'd think."
He was going to be struck down dead for irreverence. But at least Nobo would finally get what he wanted!

The god's ears flicked. "Harems... Me...?" He thought he might have met the old deity of harems once. It had been... Interesting... "No, I'm not the God of Harems. Or free food... Or even fresh water...." Was there a god of fresh water? Was there one of salt water? That had to be an interesting meet-up. He raised his head, eyes narrowing. "I am the God of the Cursed."
While Yutu had grown used to Vunde, this new vulture was an unknown. Blue eyes kept on the bird as the hare climbed up to the god's head, trying to hide in his raven mane. "Master, I don't like that bird..." He was rewarded with a snort and the god shaking his head, and Vunde laughing from above.
"You don't like anybody that can eat you." He landed on the god's neck, craning his head to stare at the other vulture. "Good morning, brother vulture... Fine day to find the dead, is it not?" He tilted his head. "If there's anything dead near by, anyway. I think we passed a dead antelope a mile back that way..." He motioned with a wing in the general direction.

"Sounds tasty, except it's missing the eyes," Nobo said a bit evilly, earning a dark look from Shibasa.
"And whose fault was that?"
"Who's the idiot that chased me for a mile, leaving his kill behind over a pair of eyes?" Nobo asked.
Shibasa snorted, then looked at the god a bit darkly. "My luck just gets better and better, doesn't it? First the goddess of greed, then the goddess of hardships, now the god of the cursed. Although hardships was actually quite the lady," he added as he sat down. "So was Ubuge, but in a different way," he added dryly.

The god let out a snort. "Yeah, I can smell Ubuge on you..." He'd run into her in a past life. No bargains were made, thankfully... That he could remember. But the smell was something that seemed to transcend lives for him. His ears flicked. "I can smell Abla, too..." He looked a bit less sour about it. Even smiled just a little. She was a good friend. "I suppose your run of gods seems to make... Sense... Any encounter with Ubuge leads to a 'ardship... And often... A curse." He then grinned, teeth glimmering a bit.
Vunde snickered, hopping down the god's spine. "Every curse is a hardship, isn't it?" He spread his wings out. "And so's every encounter with Ubuge!" He hopped back up the spine, taking up a spot next to the hare. Good thing gods tended to be strong.
Even Yutu had to cover his mouth with his paws and laugh a bit. "It may be best to not talk to Ubuge again, wouldn't it?" The hare then glared at the green vulture. "You're too close, Vunde..." He only got a snicker in return, and a mischievous look. Pushing on the bird didn't help, either.

"Yeah, you're right about that," Shibasa agreed. "I asked this of the goddess of hardships, and she didn't really know. But how did you get to be the god of the cursed?" he asked curiously. "Was there a long line that you had to stand in? Millions of little gods competing to make life harder for mortals?"
The more gods he met, the more fascinated he was with them. What was the logic to it? Did gods and goddesses with annoying domains even have followers? Were followers necessary?

The god thought about it, ears folding in thought. "Mm... I'm not sure 'ow I in particular got the domain, but it was a very long time ago. It's somewhat related to 'OW we are 'ere... We exist, and get our power, from the belief in us. The more belief a god 'as from lions and the like, the more power we 'ave." He flicked his tail. "I suppose that is it feels like I 'ave more power, feel... Bigger..." He glanced back. "A lioness started to follow me... And then another... And then there was this cub adopted... And then the lionesses 'ad cubs... And then ANOTHER lion joined..." A pride had formed around him, before he'd known it.
Yutu felt like he was starting to relax. The red vulture didn't seem to be of much threat, that was for sure. His little mind was working, though, as an idea formed. He leaned over, tugging on Xavier's ear to talk into it. "Master, why don't we take him back with us? Another able body to protect the pride and cubs!" Najisi certainly wasn't big enough to do any protecting.
"The bunny boy has a point..." The vulture leaned over the other side, tugging the god's ear closer. "Maybe you can even take him from this... Ubuge... Lady... He IS living with a curse under a hardship, after all..."

"So they follow you because they want to curse people, or because they're cursed?" Shibasa asked bluntly. "Cuz I ain't into cursing other people, it's hard enough dealing with Nobo following me around because he wants to eat me, last thing I want is someone following me out of hatred and tryin' to get revenge."
"Oh, why not? It'll be a hell of a lot of fun!" Nobo said. "We could get him to do something to that a*****e you told me about when you were first starting!"
"I'd rather just forget about him," Shibasa muttered.

A dark eyebrow went up. "Now you 'ave me wondering 'o this 'im is...." He shook his head. "So far they are all those that see themselves as cursed for some reason or another... Or are cursed, I do not know about this one lion that popped up..."
"What he's saying is... It's a haven for those that are cursed, either by a god or the pride they came from. Miss Ni'andama's only got a blue tail, but her pride kicked her out for being unnatural." It kind of made him sad, it was a pretty blue. He liked to look at it, and he knew she didn't mind.
The green vulture snickered again, listening to the other bird. "What, he doesn't wanna give his eyeballs up to you?" He hopped down to the end of Xavier's tail, perching on it as it moved back and forth. It made for a fun ride.

"See why the big goddess was so interested in him? He's a real greedy b*****d like that," Nobo agreed as he hopped onto Shibasa's head. "Those red eyes of his look delicious, don't you think? Red's always been my favorite color!"
"Giddoff," Shibasa snarled as the vulture tugged at his mane. "Those are my eyes!" He looked at the bunny, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Even if I do go with you, I want to be able to walk off for a few days, maybe even a week whenever I want. I spent a year out here, not relying on anyone. I like it. I got some friends wandering around out here."

Xavier shrugged passively. "If you've been so blind as to not notice, I am no prize of a personality myself. Besides.." He motioned with a paw. "'Unger is normal for mortals." He grinned a bit sardonically. "If you ate despite not needing to, as gods don't need to but some choose to... THEN you might be greedy..." He padded over, circling Shibasa. "As it is, to me... You are just a b*****d, much as myself." He paused, then tried to shoo Nobo away. "What was your name again...? We managed to 'ave missed that part.... And if I were to bring you back to our forming pride..." Well, names were vital to be known.
Yutu eyed Nobo. Okay, comfort feeling was starting to vanish... The vulture seemed a bit TOO occupied with eyes. "I think THAT one should stay away from the cubs..."
"The vulture is fine, Yutu. 'E fits in fine with the assorted lot we 'ave..." A god, a hare, a lioness that was just a bit too trusting, a lioness who couldn't touch very many others, various cubs... A pink lion... Now these two? It seemed fitting for their assortment.
"I, for one, would like another scavenger around..." He then puffed up, smiling. "There's a beach in the territory... It's not hard to find the remains of a fish or turtle or something or other that's washed up from the sea."

Shibasa hesitated, wondering how smart it was to join a pride when asked by a god. He'd not had that great of luck so far, but--
"Shibasa. This is Nobo. And I'll... try," he said. "Then if it doesn't work out, I'm leaving." He was going to be part of a pride. A pride full of, it seemed, weirdos. And a pink lion. "The pink guy, he's not going to hit on me, is he?" he asked.
