So recently I had someone comment on (see: nearly ruin) my gamer name by mentioning that they owned a horse named Reign Storm. After I recovered from a deep depression I started thinking - Hpw did you all come to use the nicknames you use today? Is it new, old, random, calculated, cool-sounding, or personally meaningful?

I started using ReignStoRm about two and a half years ago, and I wanted something that sounded regal and cool. But it was also a bit of a pun since I come from the greater Seattle area, which as we know never stops raining. As for Kenjiro Yume, that came from when I was in 8th or 9th grade and just started learning Japanese; I just looked up random names I liked online. Lol. Good times.

So come on, gimme some of yours. I love story time. 8D

when I was a lot younger I was one of those spazzed out kids that was hyperactive and such, always calling myself random.
so when I decided that I wanted to play an online game for the first time, coming up with a name was pretty hard. me (and my randomness) came up with the nick SausageLinks, to the amusement of a few of my friends, and I have stuck with it ever since.

recently though I've been finding it rather childish, but I'm too lazy and uncreative to think of a good name. so I still stick to it.

Ah yes, the old childish names... I remember another one now, thanks! Haha, when I was in 9th grade I started playing Runescape, and being in Japanese 1, I liked to come up with idiotic cross-language puns. So that character became Shiro Gomi (meaning white trash). Ahh, more good times.

Friend came up with a name for DnD with me, "Neiko". I then used that, and when unavailable, I use "Necio". Necio is also a female name I use, or I build on that for something like "Naticio/Naticia" Last names in games are almost always "Neikion"

Onos is from a game called Natural-Selection. It was the final form you could be in, and the most expensive. It was awesome, a giant beast that took s**t from nobody and ate marines whole. Well, he took s**t from constant heavy machine gun and other things, but still. Meaty as hell.

Sausage: I love your name. It makes me smile. xd

God, I've had so many names. Started out with Night Stalker (I swear I did not know that was a serial killer. I like the word 'stalker' at the time and I'm a night owl so I combined it) about four or five years ago when I started online gaming and I've had that name ever since, although it has since been shortened to Night. Along the way I picked up Commodore Nougat (not sure where the inspiration for that one came from) and Combat Wombat (which I'm still in love with xd ). Also Biohazard since I love the symbol for it.

i still have that one free name change or whatever, and I was seriously contemplating on changing my ID to ToSsGirL. i thought it'd be cool and funny, but my sexist friends shot it down, the haters.

I first started out on runescape with the name "Evafan01", which was inspired by my creepy, fanatic obsession with Evangelion (believe me, I was the biggest ******** fanwhore you'd ever meet.) I then went through a bunch of obnoxious usernames with underscores and random capitalization until I realized how stupid that looked.
After that, I'd just pick random words and change them up a bit. Like Effergy, I just took effigy and changed the i.

Mine has a long and uninteresting history.

In grade 4+ I was fascinated with my alter-ego superhero-esque character Flameshred, who's power stemmed from ancient medieval magic and a long history that doesn't matter, however his real name was Chase Alexander Dragosani.

However it doesn't end there.

Dragosani is only my username in lieu of being unable to choose C4D.

C4D being of course the l33t initials of Chase Alexander Dragosani, which stemmed from my first discovery of l33t sp34k back in grade 10 when I was reading the webcomic megatokyo.

I started using C4D as my new alterego (starting off as th3_n3w_c4d as a throw back to the fact that many of my previous Flameshred accounts on various websites and games were either banned or lost)

Eventually th3_n3w_c4d was just looking retarded, people were reading too much into it, and it wasn't elite enough for my online personality, so by changing it simply to C4D the meaning of it was lost, and it has a certain elite air about it.

So typically my online handle is C4D and would have been so again on sc2 HAD that been an option, but otherwise it is Dragosani, which still sounds pretty decent (imo) and it's easy to remember for me.

Although most people can't properly pronounce it.

Lol, I thought your username had something to do with the alphabet. Like C comes before D.

I'm so glad I had dial-up at that age. Who knows what sort of bullshit I would've been spouting to people. I was like the equivalent of a twitard.
