Kijibwa, carefree as ever, has decided to stray farther from the jungle than he has in a long time. He headed in a direction away from the sands he knew he'd come from before, and ended up in a nice grassy area with some mountains at a distance. Feeling safe in the wide open of the grass and enjoying the change of scenery he takes his time as he walks without having any idea where he's going.
"Sand, trees and now grass," he says to himself.

Kiburi was humming as she trotted along, her golden and peach frame coated in a fine layer of golden dust from her travels. She had slept long and had woken only an hour or so ago. She missed her family dearly and lying curled up alone in the dark had been somewhat frightening though she'd never admit it.
With wide eyes she continued on her way, almost skipping as she went.
"La~Laa~oh?" She paused as she spotted another just a short way ahead of her and putting on a cheerful expression she trotted over. "Ah hoy there!" She called.

Despite his cheery and safe feelings, Kijibwa starts when someone suddenly calls out to him. His head turns and his blue eyes search for the source of the call when he spots Kiburi. He grins and takes a couple of steps toward her as she heads toward him.
"Hello!" He greets her, taking the time to get a look at the interesting pattern on her dust covered fur, and asks curiously, "Who are you?"

She caught his vibrant blue eyes with her own and beamed at him, flicking her tail lazily as if to swat at the insects which insisted on buzzing around her. Finally, a rogue who wasn't all scared and nervous of her. She'd had just about enough of meeting cowards.
"I'm Kiburi, a rogue lionness!" Oh yes, she would never tire of that title, "how about you Blue?" She gave him a coy look, "do you have a name?"
She paused a couple of strides from him and tilted her head in a curious fashion, nose twitching as she caught his scent and familiarised it.

Ah, eye contact- the beaming causes him to grin sheepishly at her. He tosses his head to get the beginning of his mane out of his eyes, wondering at the proud tone when she announces that she's a rogue.
"Well, Kiburi the rogue lioness," he says, still grinning, "I'm Kijibwa, the rogue lion, not 'Blue.' " He takes a seat in the grass, swishing his tail. It's nice to see another lion again!
"What are you doing around here?" he asks, taking his eyes from the lioness and looking around them.

"That's a nice name." She blinked and held her head a little higher. "Though Blue is nice too, it suits you cos of your pretty eyes." It seemed she had grown fond of complimenting lately, ever since telling Uumi he had a 'pretty face'.
"Me? I'm 'sploring." She grinned, "figured I'd wander about and see if I can meet anyone new, then lo and behold here you are!"
She sat down in the dust and glanced around, "I'm glad I bumped into you, I was getting pretty lonely actually." She admitted, "not used to being alone just yet I think."

"Oh, well, um- your eyes are pretty too," he stammers, he doesn't know what he's supposed to say to that but returning a compliment sounds right to him. Besides, it's not like he's lying.
"Exploring is why I'm here," he says with a nod, "You're not used to being a rogue? Where were you before?" His head tilts curiously, he'd been alone for a long time, but that's how he remembers it always being- except when Amoret got him out of the desert.

"I have my mama's eyes." Kiburi states proudly as she gazes at him. "I was from a dull place called the pridelands." She says with a flick of her ears, "it even has a boring name!" She rolled over onto her back and wriggles rather comically on the ground to relieve an itche between her shoulders before continuing.
"I left for some adventure! how comes you're a rogue?" She asked, had it been of his own free will or had he been forced into it due to some trajic event?

Family eyes and proud of it, except the tone and description she had for her former home seem confusing to the lion. He watches as she rolls over, snorting a laugh but keeping it mostly to himself.
"The pridelands?" He asks, still sounding amused, "Is that where we are now? Or is it farther from here?" He didn't realize that places had names other than what they were, but he had to agree- the 'pridelands' don't sound very exciting.
"I don't know why I'm a rogue," Kijibwa lifts a paw rubs under his neck thoughtfully, "I was lost in a really sandy place, and a lioness found me and took me to the jungle. Not much adventure, you're the most exciting thing to happen in awhile." He doesn't mean to insult or compliment her by that, he's merely stating what he sees as a fact.

"Nope, well borders I suppose. A short trek in the direction I came from and you'll be there. Full of fat, lazy and stupid lions that place is...except for my family and Sabi that is!" She finally rolled onto her stomach, fur covered in new dust from her little scratch.
"Lost in a sandy place?" She gazed around, "where is the lionness now? She left you?" She tilted her head once more then got to her paws and shook herself, a small cloud of dust rising around her and making her sneeze. Once...twice.

"Oh," he murmurs and glances in the direction Kiburi had come from as she describes the lands inhabitants. He makes a face when she describes the lions as fat, lazy and stupid, "Oh, no wonder you left then. Crowds of stupid lions don't sound like much fun."
He looks back to the lioness and nods affirmatively, "Yep, I don't remember why I was there. And Amoret left not long after we got to the jungle. I guess she's a rogue too, but I haven't seen her latel-"
Kijibwa stops when Kiburi sneezes through the dust cloud, watching it settle. He grins and looks back up from her feet to her face.

"Oops, 'scuse me Ki." She gives him a sheepish grin before curling her tail around her and nodding. "And yup! They all just laze about in the sun all day long and don't do anything. Why they aren't curious about the world I'll never know!" She was starting to like this lion, especially as he seemed to be of the same mind.
"You don't remember? Did you bang your head and lose your memory or something?" She asked. "Jungle? I've been to the jungle before with my mama! It was a pretty place." She smiled.

"S'ok," he grins, swishing his tail in the grass, "Laying around isn't much fun, not if you stay in the same place forever. At least the jungle was fun because of all of the animals there, and the places they could hide. It doesn't look that hard to find stuff around here." It might be, if all the lions and other creatures were naturally colored- but from what he'd seen, and judging by his own fur, not many of them would blend in perfectly.
"I don't think I banged my head," he says, sounding a bit concerned at the thought. He leans down a bit and puts a paw up on his head like it just happened or he's trying to find a bump.
"The jungle is pretty," he agrees, removing his paw and sitting up again.

"I agree, everyone at the Pride thought I was stupid for leaving, they say I'm weak and puny and I'm going to show them they're wrong!" She held a note of definace in her voice, "the jungle was nice. There were lots of noises there which kept messing around with my ears." She giggled.
"Then maybe you're just forgetful?" Kiburi questioned as she moved her head forwards to brush her nose against his forehead.

"Well, if you're from a group that's all stupid, they'd have to think you're stupid like them, wouldn't they?" He suggests a reason for their thinking, "Leaving means you aren't stupid. And- and- you'll get bigger. I used to be real small-" he gestures with his front paws, holding them a short distance apart to try to demonstrate how small he was as a cub- though it's rather exagerated for what he remembers of being small.
"Maaaybe," he says. He leans back when she brushes her nose against him and, since his front paws are still in the air, falls backward.

Kiburi giggles in amusement at the other clumsy lion before bounding up to stand over him, glancing down at his face in a playful manner. "Gotcha!" She squeaks in delight, patting at his nose with a paw before leaping sideways to avoid any retaliation.
"When I was born my mama told me I didn't come out like normal cubs, so now I'm gonna be smaller than most others my age aaaand my stamina is all rubbish." She screwed up her nose in distaste and then laughed playfully. "But Kiburi will show them that size doesn't matter!"

"Hey!" Kijibwa blows at her paw when she pats him on the nose and attempts to swat at her before she can evade- but fails. He turns his head, staying on his back, and grins at her.
"There's no way you can stay small!" he exclaims, "You're too- ummm- tough to be really small." He can't explain what he means, but he knows her personality and eagerness already make up for her size and stamina. He rocks gently and then rolls himself over, his tail swishing.
