Ecavi
Kijibwa, carefree as ever, has decided to stray farther from the jungle than he has in a long time. He headed in a direction away from the sands he knew he'd come from before, and ended up in a nice grassy area with some mountains at a distance. Feeling safe in the wide open of the grass and enjoying the change of scenery he takes his time as he walks without having any idea where he's going.

"Sand, trees and now grass," he says to himself.

Kimaria
Kiburi was humming as she trotted along, her golden and peach frame coated in a fine layer of golden dust from her travels. She had slept long and had woken only an hour or so ago. She missed her family dearly and lying curled up alone in the dark had been somewhat frightening though she'd never admit it.

With wide eyes she continued on her way, almost skipping as she went.

"La~Laa~oh?" She paused as she spotted another just a short way ahead of her and putting on a cheerful expression she trotted over. "Ah hoy there!" She called.

Ecavi
Despite his cheery and safe feelings, Kijibwa starts when someone suddenly calls out to him. His head turns and his blue eyes search for the source of the call when he spots Kiburi. He grins and takes a couple of steps toward her as she heads toward him.

"Hello!" He greets her, taking the time to get a look at the interesting pattern on her dust covered fur, and asks curiously, "Who are you?"

Kimaria
She caught his vibrant blue eyes with her own and beamed at him, flicking her tail lazily as if to swat at the insects which insisted on buzzing around her. Finally, a rogue who wasn't all scared and nervous of her. She'd had just about enough of meeting cowards.

"I'm Kiburi, a rogue lionness!" Oh yes, she would never tire of that title, "how about you Blue?" She gave him a coy look, "do you have a name?"

She paused a couple of strides from him and tilted her head in a curious fashion, nose twitching as she caught his scent and familiarised it.

Ecavi
Ah, eye contact- the beaming causes him to grin sheepishly at her. He tosses his head to get the beginning of his mane out of his eyes, wondering at the proud tone when she announces that she's a rogue.

"Well, Kiburi the rogue lioness," he says, still grinning, "I'm Kijibwa, the rogue lion, not 'Blue.' " He takes a seat in the grass, swishing his tail. It's nice to see another lion again!

"What are you doing around here?" he asks, taking his eyes from the lioness and looking around them.

Kimaria
"That's a nice name." She blinked and held her head a little higher. "Though Blue is nice too, it suits you cos of your pretty eyes." It seemed she had grown fond of complimenting lately, ever since telling Uumi he had a 'pretty face'.

"Me? I'm 'sploring." She grinned, "figured I'd wander about and see if I can meet anyone new, then lo and behold here you are!"

She sat down in the dust and glanced around, "I'm glad I bumped into you, I was getting pretty lonely actually." She admitted, "not used to being alone just yet I think."

Ecavi
"Oh, well, um- your eyes are pretty too," he stammers, he doesn't know what he's supposed to say to that but returning a compliment sounds right to him. Besides, it's not like he's lying.

"Exploring is why I'm here," he says with a nod, "You're not used to being a rogue? Where were you before?" His head tilts curiously, he'd been alone for a long time, but that's how he remembers it always being- except when Amoret got him out of the desert.

Kimaria
"I have my mama's eyes." Kiburi states proudly as she gazes at him. "I was from a dull place called the pridelands." She says with a flick of her ears, "it even has a boring name!" She rolled over onto her back and wriggles rather comically on the ground to relieve an itche between her shoulders before continuing.

"I left for some adventure! how comes you're a rogue?" She asked, had it been of his own free will or had he been forced into it due to some trajic event?

Ecavi
Family eyes and proud of it, except the tone and description she had for her former home seem confusing to the lion. He watches as she rolls over, snorting a laugh but keeping it mostly to himself.

"The pridelands?" He asks, still sounding amused, "Is that where we are now? Or is it farther from here?" He didn't realize that places had names other than what they were, but he had to agree- the 'pridelands' don't sound very exciting.

"I don't know why I'm a rogue," Kijibwa lifts a paw rubs under his neck thoughtfully, "I was lost in a really sandy place, and a lioness found me and took me to the jungle. Not much adventure, you're the most exciting thing to happen in awhile." He doesn't mean to insult or compliment her by that, he's merely stating what he sees as a fact.

Kimaria
"Nope, well borders I suppose. A short trek in the direction I came from and you'll be there. Full of fat, lazy and stupid lions that place is...except for my family and Sabi that is!" She finally rolled onto her stomach, fur covered in new dust from her little scratch.

"Lost in a sandy place?" She gazed around, "where is the lionness now? She left you?" She tilted her head once more then got to her paws and shook herself, a small cloud of dust rising around her and making her sneeze. Once...twice.

Ecavi
"Oh," he murmurs and glances in the direction Kiburi had come from as she describes the lands inhabitants. He makes a face when she describes the lions as fat, lazy and stupid, "Oh, no wonder you left then. Crowds of stupid lions don't sound like much fun."

He looks back to the lioness and nods affirmatively, "Yep, I don't remember why I was there. And Amoret left not long after we got to the jungle. I guess she's a rogue too, but I haven't seen her latel-"

Kijibwa stops when Kiburi sneezes through the dust cloud, watching it settle. He grins and looks back up from her feet to her face.

Kimaria
"Oops, 'scuse me Ki." She gives him a sheepish grin before curling her tail around her and nodding. "And yup! They all just laze about in the sun all day long and don't do anything. Why they aren't curious about the world I'll never know!" She was starting to like this lion, especially as he seemed to be of the same mind.

"You don't remember? Did you bang your head and lose your memory or something?" She asked. "Jungle? I've been to the jungle before with my mama! It was a pretty place." She smiled.

Ecavi
"S'ok," he grins, swishing his tail in the grass, "Laying around isn't much fun, not if you stay in the same place forever. At least the jungle was fun because of all of the animals there, and the places they could hide. It doesn't look that hard to find stuff around here." It might be, if all the lions and other creatures were naturally colored- but from what he'd seen, and judging by his own fur, not many of them would blend in perfectly.

"I don't think I banged my head," he says, sounding a bit concerned at the thought. He leans down a bit and puts a paw up on his head like it just happened or he's trying to find a bump.

"The jungle is pretty," he agrees, removing his paw and sitting up again.

Kimaria
"I agree, everyone at the Pride thought I was stupid for leaving, they say I'm weak and puny and I'm going to show them they're wrong!" She held a note of definace in her voice, "the jungle was nice. There were lots of noises there which kept messing around with my ears." She giggled.

"Then maybe you're just forgetful?" Kiburi questioned as she moved her head forwards to brush her nose against his forehead.

Ecavi
"Well, if you're from a group that's all stupid, they'd have to think you're stupid like them, wouldn't they?" He suggests a reason for their thinking, "Leaving means you aren't stupid. And- and- you'll get bigger. I used to be real small-" he gestures with his front paws, holding them a short distance apart to try to demonstrate how small he was as a cub- though it's rather exagerated for what he remembers of being small.

"Maaaybe," he says. He leans back when she brushes her nose against him and, since his front paws are still in the air, falls backward.

Kimaria
Kiburi giggles in amusement at the other clumsy lion before bounding up to stand over him, glancing down at his face in a playful manner. "Gotcha!" She squeaks in delight, patting at his nose with a paw before leaping sideways to avoid any retaliation.

"When I was born my mama told me I didn't come out like normal cubs, so now I'm gonna be smaller than most others my age aaaand my stamina is all rubbish." She screwed up her nose in distaste and then laughed playfully. "But Kiburi will show them that size doesn't matter!"

Ecavi
"Hey!" Kijibwa blows at her paw when she pats him on the nose and attempts to swat at her before she can evade- but fails. He turns his head, staying on his back, and grins at her.

"There's no way you can stay small!" he exclaims, "You're too- ummm- tough to be really small." He can't explain what he means, but he knows her personality and eagerness already make up for her size and stamina. He rocks gently and then rolls himself over, his tail swishing.

"Hopefully!" She replies as she manages to evade his attack. "I'm tough?" She beamed at him and puffed out her chest a little, "you really think so?"

She moves slowly back over to him and rears up a little, pressing her paws against his tummy in an effort to try and tickle him. "Then first I must prove it!"

Her laughter filled the air.

"The way you talk gives it away, you can't be that eager and not be some tough," he says this matter-of-factly with a nod, not moving while she slowly approaches him.

Not until she reaches out, at which point, in a very kitty fashion, he jumps up in an attempt to escape whatever attack she tries upon him. He doesn't get far enough to evade the tickling entirely, but as he laughs he manages to inch away some.

"He-e-ey," he laughs, scrambling to get to his feet. He swishes his tail and before he is fully upright he pounces at Kiburi.

Kiburi felt herself already liking the male with his brilliant blue eyes and his contrasting fur. She'd only ever seen lions with golden and brown fur, nothing like his. It was striking and rather beautiful, perhaps even better than Rocky's vibrant red pelt.

"You can't escape me Blue!" She squeaked, reverting back to the nickname, "I'm gonna get ya---oof!" She finds herself suddenly being pressed to the ground as she is pounced and a playful growl starts in her throat as she tries to wriggle free, trying to n** at his ears as she does so.

"Bad Bluey, bad!" She giggles.

"Now who's got who?" Kijibwa growls playfully, wiggling along with her as she tries to escape. The nipping at his ears doesn't seem to bother him, nor does calling him Blue again.

"C'mon, you're supposed to be proving how tough you are-- Spots," He adopts a nickname for her off the top of his head (or rather, off the top of her head) after a brief hesitation to get even for his own nickname, and lifts one paw to put it over the spots on her snout. This, with her wriggling, is enough to throw his weakening balance off and he falls to the side.

"Oof!" He doesn't move right away one he falls. He's having a great deal of fun, something he hasn't had company for in awhile.

"You're a tricksy lion!" She squeaked, gazing at him with sparkles in her eyes. No one had really given her a nickname other than Rocky and it felt sort of nice though she had no idea why. She wriggles more frantically when his paw finds a place on her nose and then suddenly he's gone.

She looks startled at first then realises that he's simply fallen to one side. She rolls in the dust and gets up, shaking her body and lowering herself to the ground in pounce position, back arched and eyes narrowed as she judges the distance between them.

The homesick feeling that Kib had been suffering since leaving her family was slowly beginning to fade. Perhaps it's because she had needed the company too?

"Watch out, here I come!" She leapt towards him, falling just short of his position, rearing up to wrap her forelegs around his neck in a type of hug, twisting her head around to n** at his ears. She hadn't played like this since being with her brother.

He laughs when she calls him tricksy, sticking out his tongue- but then of course he's off to the side. Shaking the dirt from only his head, he looks up to Kiburi in time to see her getting ready to pounce.

His blue eyes light up as gets to his feet and brace himself to be pounced, but when she calls out he ducks uselessly while he watches her land right infront of him.

"Hah!" He exclaims, "Missed--" he yelps in surprise when suddenly her paws are around his neck and she's nipping at his ears.

"Ambush!" Kiji gasps, shaking his head to try to free his ears. When that fails he twists his head around to bite back at her ears, growlling playfully and with his tail swaying madly behind him.

She fallls to the ground again, panting for breath as she tries to gather energy to retaliate but fails. The smile remains on her face as she rolls once more and takes a few steps back.

She coughs once and then sits down with a sigh, her breathing slowly returning to normal. "Need to...rest." She grins, flicking up a cloud of dust with the tuft of her tail and watching the particles swirl about in the air.

"So..." She looks up again at him, "what now?" She feels a little bad about cutting their play short and curses her stamina once again as she shifts over to the shade of a nearby boulder.

His tail continues to sway eagerly behind him, but Kiji backs off once she rolls away, panting slightly. His expression is caught somewhere between a frown and a smile, but the frown fades as he calms down. Disappointed as he could be about the game ending, she had mentioned that she doesn't have great stamina.

"I don't know," he says and follows her to the shade, taking a seat, "That's pretty hard to top, I think." With a grin he looks around them, curling his calmed tail around his paws.

"Do you have any idea where you're going to go-" he asks with a grin- "Now that you've proven you're tough enough?"

She watches him approach and twitches her ears forward, "I don't really know." She watched her own tail flick back and forth in the dust. "I just wanted to wander around by myself, yah know? Get to know places, new lions, learn the land by memory as if it was on the back of my paw!" She drew in her lungs. "I want to be the best rogue lioness there ever was!"

A rumbling purr escapes from her throat at these thoughts and she gazes out at the horizon with her slate-blue eyes. "I wonder what other lands lie out there waiting for me. Mystical places, strange places, maybe even dangerous ones?"

She cants her head towards him. "How about you? Do you have something in mind you want to achieve?"

"I guess wanting to see it all is a good thing," he shrugs, "So you're just going to have to work your way from here and see where you end up?" He tilts his head and looks back in the direction of the mountains thoughtfully. He glances back to the lioness when she states her intention and grins.

"All the best kinds of places," he murmurs, "Mystical, strange, dangerous.." He trails off and looks around them thoughtfully once more. His ears turn when she questions him, but his gaze stays on the landscape.

"Meee?" He says thoughtfully, "I don't know, I just want to keep looking around. I think I'd like to see some of these lazy, stupid lions you mentioned, though." He grins.

She giggles at him and gives him a toothy smile. If you do decide to go to the pridelands - and don't worry about being captured cos they won't do it - you must meet my brother Mchele! He's a golden colour like my paws but he has a white nose and white spots above his eyes." She slapped her tail against the ground, "my dada is a big white and dark brown lion, and my mama is a golden lioness." Her whole family was described with love and pride.

"As for me, the Pridelands will definately be the last stop in my adventure. I promised them I'd return soon but I never promised I'd stay." She sighed, "I know Mchele will be unhappy about that but...but I have to follow my heart on this one. You understand don't you Blue?"

"Ahh, then if there's no danger I think it'd be funny to go see the pridelands," he grins, having taken everything she said about the pride there seriously, "Soo~ I'd just have to look out for lions that look sort of like you- except your dad-" He tilts his head, looking confused, "You're not very white or brown."

He nods along as she explains her promise to her family, and smiles in an almost reassuring manner, "Well, if you technically didn't promise you'd stay when you got back and you don't really want to, they should let you - eh- follow your heart." It isn't a phrase he might use himself, but she said it.

"If you don't want to stay, you shouldn't," He nods and then holds his head up proudly as if this was completely unquestionable logic.

She giggled and nodded, wondering how her family would take to the black and white juvenile. "Yep my papa dun look much like me, cept for the white stripe on the top of my head." She dips her muzzle to the ground so he can see the pale fur between her ears.

Then she stood up, did a sort of twirl and reached out to bat at him with an extended paw. "Than I shan't stay with them. Mama told me she wants new cublings anyway...so they'll probably forget about me anyways." This saddened her a little.

"Not that I care or anything, make things easier if they don't remember Kib."

"Huh, I didn' really notice that," he says with a shrug, though his voice isn't very serious. He sticks out his tongue just as she gets up, twirls and bats at him- his eyes squinting as he sticks out his tongue he misses the motion entirely and gets swatted. He jumps, putting his tongue back into his mouth.

"What?" His expression becomes confused again when she mentions being forgotten. That doesn't sound very nice! But, then again- his parents had never come and found him, is he already forgotten?

"It could make things easier," he says thoughtfully, "But it's not very nice."
