The Forest in always calm and peaceful.
There is a small river that runs through it and many animals live there.

× Memory had left town and entered the forest, listening to the voices of life. All the trees and animals were chattering about around her, seeming happy to be undisturbed but as an elf, they had not minded her. They knew elves were their protectors and certainly would not cause any harm towards them. So she was free to walk about and went up to a very old tree.

She smiled to it and leaned against the trunk. She patted the old tree and quietly said, "It's almost time. Thank you, for everything." This tree was dying as it probably had only a few more hours. Leaves no longer occupied this tree and the branches drooped just a bit. After it's soul left this world, the elves had planned to prepare a small ceremony and then cut it down, for many things such as bows and utensils. This tree seemed happy though. This was the cycle of life after all. All living things always have an end. She sighed and stayed there with this tree and soon animals gathered around; every living thing of the forest saying their farewell to this tree.

× Memory awoke several hours later only to see the bright moon shining over her and the forest. She rubbed her eyes and realized she had fallen asleep and now it was nighttime. She sighed and touched the tree, only to freeze for a second. This tree had just recently died. She patted the tree's trunk and stood up to go home. All over the forest, the songs of the creatures everywhere could be heard. They mourned yet celebrated the tree's death. Soon, the wood elves would come and take this tree. She left for the village.

Just as she left, a large group of elves came with their instruments to celebrate for this tree. With the animals gathered around and rain pouring down on them, they began to sing. Some danced, some sang, some played their instruments, and others watched with tears too but smiled.

Music of the Elves. [It brings more feeling for the scene!]

Dont try and act like you understand...
No one could understand...
Not the kind of pain I've suffered...

The sound of something heavy drudging through the soft and gently forest floor would ripple through the trees as a figure seeming covered in full Clad Body armor would drag him self through the Forest... It was the 3 free flowing tails behind him that gave away the fact that it wasn't simply armor, and that he wasn't simply Human... His arms hung loosely by his sides as he continued forward, his eye's were half shut, and he seemed dead compared to the living forest around him... As if every step he took killed the forest a little more... A dim and dry heat seemed to be constantly surrounding the boy as he stopped at the sound of a snap... In a split second, a flurry of arrows came at him from every direction... Most hitting his 'armor' with a ting like noise... How ever three were aimed at his head... One hit his forehead, breaking the skin, but simply scraping against the skull as a small amount of blood trickled down his face... The second hit the back of his head, doing the same as the one that had his his forehead, and the third hitting the direct top of his head, yet again doing the same as the other two...

The man kept his head down, a small circle of arrows sat on the ground beneath him as a number of robbed men dropped from the trees... "Humans..." He would mumbled as they would all look at one another... The first to pull off his hood would reveal that the boy had been right... Simply human... But they had elf clothing, as well as elf bows and arrows... Odd to say the least... "how in the hell could he have known..." One would ask as the others would reveal them selves to as well be Human... One would step forward, most likely the leader... "it doesn't matter what he does, or doesn't know... we kill him just like the rest, loot what we can... and be on our way..." He would say as a low pitched growl like noise would come from the monster before them all...

"this is boring... lets hurry up!" One behind the beast would yell as he'd toss his bow to the ground before pulling his hand from his cloak, revealing a massive sword, one perhaps the same size of the large mans body... He hit the ground sprinting right at beasts back... He foolishly leapt into the air as he attempted to swing his weapon down on the monster... But before he could do a thing... One of those bloody red tentacle like tails had already pierced the man through the chest... "pathetic... you humans are... so pathetic..." He would mumbled before whipping his tail to the right, throwing the man right at another... The leader simply stood there before hesitantly taking a step back... "wait... I've heard of this thing... it's-" Before the man could finish a burst of raw power erupted from the tip of the beasts left tail... Quickly and instantly vaporizing the man, as well as several of his followers behind him...

Strangely enough the tree's behind them were fine... But the ground beneath them had been burnt to a crisp... "no leader... no organization... no reason to continue..." He would mumbled as the others would begin to glare at the monster before them... The beast would simply turn to start slowly walking back to the direction he'd come from... "don't just walk away! we're not done here!" One would yell before quickly charging the monster from the front this time... The moment he got within five feet of the creature... It seemed to vanish for a split second, then re-appear with it's hand bursting through the man's chest... The leaves being kicked up beneath them and a small burst of wind taking place behind the now dead man...

The man's blood splattered on a man behind him as the creature threw the newest corpse at yet another bandit... The others now slowly backing away as well... "touch the forest any more... and you will all be disposed of... a job is a job... and you are in the way of it... understand this..." He would say as they would all scream like the cowards they were before turning an running... It was hard to believe someone hired this monster of all things to get rid of a group of bandits as weak as that... Then again with that leader of theirs... their team work was impeccable... Any without armor would have met their end in an instant... How ever the beasts train of thought was cut off as the sound of a twig snapping would ruffle through the air...

The monster would slowly turn it's head, only to find a small Elfen girl hiding behind a tree with tears swelling up in her eyes... She was clinging to the tree as Dante turned to walk towards the girl... Those tears would get bigger and bigger, the closer Dante seemed to get... Until he finally stopped in front of the girl towering over her as he looked down at the poor girl... She fell back as she started crying... Her tiny screams echoing through the forest as Dante simply leaned forward, before grabbing the little girls hand, and lifting her back up, she continued to cry... But didn't seem to be showing any kind of struggle... The monster turned and started walking once more, as the girl... Very loudly... Followed behind the beast...

User ImageLaya was very quick and nimble for an elf but she had to be. She was a hunter and a tracker so speed came with the territory. She pounced from tree branches as she used her eye sight to see miles ahead of her. The bag of fruit was still tied to her waist, it bounced against her thigh. She was afraid the soft skin of the fruit would become bruised but she couldn't slow down. It was sad how life of a child was equal to damaged produce in her mind.

Her thick, blue hair was thrown back from her face by the force of the wind. She regretted wearing the white and blue cloak, it could get caught on something if she wasn't careful. Sunlight broke through the thick tree tops every now and then, disrupting her quest to find the annoying kid. She brought her hand her forehead to shield her brilliant, sapphire eyes from the blinding light. She saw something, two figures in the distant. She squinted to get a closer look. Bodies were on the ground a few feet off. This...this creature; she couldn't describe it, was walking away and the child was following it.

Laya stopped on a branch a few feet away from them. Her voice was stern as she spoke, "You there, what are you doing with that child?" She grabbed ahold of the bark and spun herself like an acrobat, a bit over the top but that's how she did things. She twirled in the air, performing a few back flips while she reached for her duel swords on her back. She landed a foot or so from him, facing him with her weapons drawn. "I don't know why you're here but you aren't an elf." She moved her feet through the dirt, taking on a fighting stance...she shifted her weight to her back foot. "Why is she crying? Did you hurt her?" She really didn't care about the child...she just wanted to eat her fruit.

Dante's ears would twitch slightly as the shaking branches throughout the forest as he would stop in his tracks, his grip still normal on the girls hand as she continued to cry... As she did her little show with jumping down from the trees... Dante didn't show any form of amazement... He still just looked... Dead... "you're in... the way..." He would say... The slight rasp in his voice gave a slight hint to the pain he had suffered through... It was like she was being sucked into a world void of joy or sunlight... A world where she could hear or see nothing but screams and agony... In an instant she'd be brought back to reality... Only to find the Dragon born boy's mouth wide open, and a dim black aura like glow humming from it... "now burst..." His voice would echo through the forest which seemed to be quickly becoming a battle field... The strange thing was... He didn't move his mouth to speak... But before giving the girl a chance to think on it... A massive burst of raw energy burst from the boys mouth...

It flew at the girl... But didn't seem to have an destructive properties... Just an incredibly strong burst of air...? Where did that energy go? that raw power? The trees yet again were not harmed in any way... And if the girl decided to take a direct "hit" from the "attack"... She'd at the worst be be launched back at a tree, perhaps receiving a fractured bone or a harsh bruise... Rather then waiting to find out what became of the girl... The creature started walking forward once more... Pulling the small crying girl along... She still had yet to resist his pulling, simply continued to cry... The odd thing was the monster didn't seem to be bothered by it... There would be hundreds of obvious reasons why... "He'd heard so many cry it didn't effect him any more, he'd heard and seen much worse then a child crying"... the list went on... Never the less there was a little girl struggling against a creature of monstrous power...

He was slower than her but rather quick for someone coated in thick armor. She wasn't expecting him to be able to shoot such a powerful shock of energy. The blast approached her at an alarming rate and he just kept on walking forward with the child in hand. "Hey, wait---" she was unable to continue, she had to do something. Laya pushed off the ground, jumping into the air to spiral into a front flip. She missed the massive ball of energy by a hairsbreadth, her bag of fruit was not so lucky. It was sucked into the orb and slammed against the trees behind her. Laya landed silently, small bits of leaves and dust were tossed into the air, her hair settled perfectly on her shoulders as if she hadn't exerted any effort. She turned back to check on her produce and discovered they had burst within the bag due to the impact.

"Hey, you," she called out to the armored intruder, "You ruined my fruit." She slammed her foot down like a child, her brows furrowed as anger boiled inside of her. "That was expensive, you're going to pay for that." She quickly sheathed her swords and pulled out her bow, she readied it with two arrows; shooting multiple required great skill, she sent them flying for his head. She then darted toward the trees, jumping against the bark with her foot she shot through the air. She moved her bow to her back and again withdrew the steel, the metal scrapping against the sheath. Laya soared toward him, aiming at the hand that held the child's.

Echoing throughout the forest the soft sounds of a flute playing a sorrowful song could be heard just above the crying child. Both the creature and the elf would hear it and be drawn to the sound. A figure cloaked in white stood in the circle of carnage the creature had wrought, the souls of the dead men visible as willow wisps floating around him. The gloved hands of the figure held a silver flute to the lips of the shadowed face, and the emerald green eyes, which gleamed with otherworldly energy, watched the crying girl, the creature, and the elf with an emotionless gaze.

Behind the figure was the shimmering gray expanse of a river flowing into the distance before fading into a veil of mist. The willow wisps floated towards the image of the river, when they passed threshold into death the wisps took on the shapes of the men they had been in life. They did not look back as the river tugged them towards the veil of mist, nor did they cry out when the river pulled them under for they were under the flute’s spell. Likewise the crying girl, the creature and the elf girl would be swayed by the flute’s spell. They would feel the urge to walk into the river and allow it to drag them into the next life. Besides playing the flute, the figure made no hostile actions towards any of them. After all, his song was not meant for the living.

Dont try and act like you understand...
No one could understand...
Not the kind of pain I've suffered...

The beast continued forward... More then likely ignoring every word the girl had said to him as the little girl in his hand continued to cry and scream... Tho not once did she cry for help... Odd to say the least... How ever when she fired the arrows at him, his left said flicked it's way up like a whip, lashing at the arrows as light "ting" noises rippled through the forest, masked by the sound of the shaking trees as the elf girl leap from to tree... As she drew her swords once more and jumped at him, his middle tail would dark up in an instant, tho rather then stabbing her through the chest, it stopped just short before quickly dropping tot he right, and darting back up to the side of the free falling Elven woman... It quickly wrapped it's self around her waist as she would feel the heart through her clothing emanating off the tail... It wasn't enough to burn or even bring main... But it was certainly odd to say the least...

Rather then giving her the chance to put her blades of steel away and draw her bow, his right tail wriggled up, before wrapping it's self around her arms, and pressing them against her waist... The monster held the girl... Bound as he continued forward with the small child's tears finally starting to come to a slow halt... "do not harm the elves... nor the trees they protect... bring back the girl... if the Elves resist... bring them back with..." He mumbled not so specifically to anyone but simply figured it would be better then the obvious questions that would be soon to come... The beast continued forward, that last tail threatening to wrap around the girls mouth, forcefully shutting her up if she decided to get lippy...

However the beast stopped for a moment at the sound of a flute... Before simply shaking it's head, and continuing forward... The monster was nothing more then a mindless creature of death and suffering... At least so it appeared... Taking to effect or interest in the spirits, nor the river like world behind him... Dante simply continued drudging forward... The way he saw it... This was some being that helped the dead to the after life... More then likely the being wouldn't get in his way or interfere with his job... So he paid no mind to the mysterious stranger... He continued forward as the monster would cough slightly, letting out a quiet grunt before shaking it's head once more... The sound seemed to bother him... Even in the slightest of ways... But it simply continued forward, the small girls tears had finally ended as she looked at the river with what seemed to be amazement, as for the 'hostage' bound by his tails... The monster didn't look back to bother checking...

Laya's blade hadn't even reached the monster's armor. She hadn't thought about his tails, she had been too upset about her fruit. She cursed at her tactlessness as she was grabbed in mid air. She felt a dull burning sensation, the heat didn't harm her but it wasn't pleasant to say the least. She raised her arm to slice downward upon her captor but another tail shot outward and coiled itself around her arms, pinning them to her sides. Laya held onto her weapons despite being in her current predicament. She couldn't lose the heirlooms of her father. The skin on her knuckles turned a pale white as she tightened her hold on the hilts of her duel swords. "A thousand curses on you and your name," she yelled at the creature. She trashed and squirmed, attempting to free herself, "Let me go you abominable worm," not one of her best insults but given her current situation who could blame her?

Laya fell to the ground with a thud and the air escaped her lungs with an "omph." She felt the cold dirt against her back and legs as she was drug by her waist. Her hair laid out behind her head, twigs and leaves getting tangled within the strands. "I swear I will kill you the first chance I get," she exclaimed.

She went silent upon hearing the eerie melody of a flute. The sound was so forlorn and ominous, it sent chills throughout her body. She shuddered as the tune penetrated her mind. This overwhelming sensation to follow it overcame her. She didn't know why or where but these thoughts weren't exactly important to her, they were irrelevant. The only thing that mattered to her was finding the source of this music. Laya noticed the monster falter slightly as well as the uncomfortable silence the girl had been overcome with. She caught a glimpse of energy out of the corner of her eye. She began to hear rushing water, a river pushing against weathered stones. The sound pulsated within her soul, she couldn't explain it. She shook her head to try and regain her senses, the spell was only mildly dulled enough for her to realize it wouldn't be wise to pursue. She was still captivated by it, her lips and words silent as she was pulled by the creature to only god knows where.

The beast continued forward as he heard the Elf girl's response... "I swear I will kill you the first chance I get"... "then I would thank you..." A quiet mumble would come from him as he lifted the girl off the ground, at least now carrying her... The small girl now basically clinging to the beasts hand, as if afraid he'd let go, simply smiled at the elf girl before letting out a tiny giggle... His last free tail finally wrapped around the small girl as he let go of her hand before lifting her into the air as well, before slowly turning his dragging walk into a slow jog... Then a medium run... Followed by a quick sprint, before his speed wouldn't let his legs keep up as he began skimming along the ground... Kicking off the ground and basically flying perhaps an inch or two over it, doing the same with each leg, darting between the trees as they burst out of the forest... Before them appeared to be a giant cliff... With a slope that seemed to be straight down... The monster carrying the two women didn't seem to be showing any signs of stopping either... It didn't take a genius to figure out what was coming next...

Laya's sense of reality came crashing down on her as they moved away from the mysterious music. The glaze in her eyes vanished and was replaced with vitality. She felt herself being lifted from the ground and into the air. Various types of tiny debris fell from her hair and outfit. She already knew it would take ages to get all of the dirt off her coat which just fueled the fire of her rage. She kicked a few times against his hold but knew she wouldn't be successful. She heard the monster's comment, remorse began to creep it's way into her heart. Maybe the monster wasn't a monster at all. Laya began to think she had the situation all wrong.

The wind picked up, a cold breeze at first which then became a chilling gale. There were heavy footfalls as she realized the creature was running. She was beginning to lose sight of the thick trees as the shrubbery thinned. They were reaching the outskirts of the forest, she was unsure of where it lead. The small elven girl didn't seem to mind, she was rather cheerful at this point. "Hey, don't laugh at me," Laya frowned. She brought her sights to where they were heading. The wind made it difficult to keep her eyes open, they were heading for a cliff. "Whoa, hey," she began to struggle again, "That's a cliff, you moron." She forgot all about her produce, the little girl now becoming a first priority. She couldn't get herself free, she thought this was it. This wasn't at all how she pictured her life to end...in the clutches of some suicidal beast with an annoying brat that either wouldn't stop crying or laughing.

The monster simply picked up more speed at the girls comment... To intentionally spite her? Who knew... But never the less... Considering how heavy that armor seemed... His speed was certainly impressive to say the least... He kicked off the ground at the edge of the cliff as he lifted off the ground... As if he were flying..... Before turning that feeling of flight into a full on nose dive... The sound of bones snapping would come from his back as he seemed to be squirming during the fall... About half way down, they were heading in a straight line for the ground... But in an instant... Giant, armor covered wings burst from the monsters back as they started to glide down at an angle... They still were going to hit the ground easy at the rate they were going however... The beast angled his body so he'd land on all fours as they hit the ground with a loud echoing bang...

Slidding across the ground... A small crater filled with dust floating through the air now sat at the line of yet another forest... As it slowly cleared the beast could be seen there in the middle of the crater on all fours with his head lowered... Both the woman raised over his body... The first one was resting against his back... And the smaller elf child resting ontop of the woman... Apparently his tails only had so much strength... The wings were already gone as a low pitched growl seemed to come from the beast... This was the closest someone had ever gotten while breathing to the monster... And it was uncomfortable to say the least... Never the less, he stood up straight before leaping out of the ground, creating a tiny bang from the spot he'd burst from, before landing at the edge of the crater... "heavy woman..." He mumbled out loud... Apparently the fool truly didn't fear ANYTHING... After calling a woman apparently fat...

He continued forward once more... Walking through the forest at that slow pace... Tho kept the women in his tails in the air behind him as he drudged forward... His stomach suddenly howled for food as his pace seemed to slow in just the slightest of ways... Barely noticeable... Tho it seemed to pay no mind to it's own hunger as it continued forward not saying even one word... How ever it's hunching posture, slightly off breathing... And off walking patterns... Seemed to give off the realization that the monster was most likely exhausted... Hungry or tired, one of the two... But again, the beast paid no mind to it...

Laya squeezed her eyes shut, she could help it. No normal person wants to die, especially not like this. She began to chant an old elven prayer to herself; she didn't expect any kind of redemption for the people she had killed but it helped calm her for the approaching end. The beast leapt from the edge of the cliff and began to free fall to it's doom. She attempted to kick him, blindly swinging her legs to hopefully land some kind of blow. "You idiot, if you wanted to die you should have just decapitated yourself and saved us the trouble of dying with you. Hell, you could have let me decapitate you," she yelled over the gushing of air.

Her coat caught the currents, pressing against the outline of her body and her hair wildly waved toward the heavens. Her grip on her weapons faltered and they were flung into the sky. This was just not her day. There was a sort of crunching noise, she dared to peek open one of her eyes. The monster had sprouted wings, she was even more aggravated now. He used the various air pockets to slow their fall but that didn't make the impact any less severe. A giant crash could be heard for miles around, it sounded like a monumental explosion to her sensitive ears, they began to twitch violently almost throbbing from the pain.

The sudden halt caused her to lunge forward into the back of his armor, she was afraid she'd break one of his wings but they had already vanished. Laya's body smacked into his back, she grabbed onto him out of instinct. The girl then landed directly on her, "Dear, god. What the hell is wrong with you people," she shouted through gritted teeth. The comment he made had just registered in her mind, "What?! Did you just call me fat?" She began to pound against the armor he wore, even tried to bite it. "I am not fat, you're just weak. Maybe you should work out more instead of terrorizing children and women." She continued to yell and carry on whenever she noticed the beast begin to sway with each step. Laya immediately showed genuine concern, "Hey...Are you okay?"

Dont try and act like you understand...

The monster stopped as his eye's twitched slightly... The sound of something cutting through the air could be heard as the monster would look up, only to have one of the girls swords come flying down... Before penetrating his skull, right above his left eye... The impact from the weapon caused his head to be forced back, as the other came flying down before knocking him in the chest as his grip on the two women was released in an instant... And the monster fell back, hitting the ground with a loud bang... Blood ran down the left side of his face as he laid there still and lifeless... His eye's were still dead and lifeless as he gazed up at the sky... It was odd... He looked like he should have all along... It was certainly strange to say the least...

However when the monster leaned up slowly... A low pitched growl escaping his lips... He would lift his right hand before gripping the hilt of the sword stuck in his had... Before slowly pulling it out... the sound of the metal grinding against his bone would ripple against the elven women's delicate ears as he quickly tore the last few inches out in an instant, letting out a rather monstrous grunt in the process... His blood splattered across the ground before him as he dropped the weapon next to himself... The wound inflicted on his head could literally be seen healing... Firs the skull it's self... Then the skin that shielded it... It was a spectacle to say the least... Maybe some of those rumours really were true after all... Who could say... But the beast fell back once more as it's stomach howled for food yet again... The monster actually looked like a child, sad and desperate for affection... That or food... Never the less it was a sad sight indeed considering what the beast had just done prior...
