Cora had no idea of how long nor how far she had ran. She was driven by her instincts, running with no clear direction. Once a while she stopped and called Hypnos, then started running again. She was worried of little girl's safety, knowing that she could never forgive herself if something would happen to her. If only she would realize Hypnos would be safely at home and she was heading in wrong direction, away from her. Or that she was still in her human form, her signature blazing strongly and telling every powered invidual guardian cat's location.

Her run was interupted when her feet contacted with a frozen puddle. Even though she had excellent balance sense usually, this time the slippery surface surprised her and with a short, surprised yelp she fell down on the icy ground. "Ow..." she meowed. The ice was hard and cold. It hurt!

But maybe it was a good thing that she had fell. Now she had time to collect her thoughts. Not that it helped her any way as she now realized she was completely lost. There was no familiar sign or landing mark around that would tell her any clue her whereabouts. And if that wasn't enough, morning dew was tightening into fog. Sun was beaming behind it, mirroring it's rays from fog. It was hard to see much in front of her.

"Oh no. Where have I ran?" cat girl whispered aloud. Cream-colored tail swung from side to side couple times, a sign of her nervous state. She walked past of small cafes and little shops, hoping to find familiar-looking buildings or better, right way to home.

"I hope I won't run into a youma now."

It wasn't typical for Zircon to be patrolling this early in the morning: she generally thought of the Negaverse as a night-job, something she could focus on once her daily duties had been completed. Nevertheless, it was difficult to ignore the rampant surge of energy that had raced past her usual morning coffee-shop haunt, and so she had paid her bill silently and crept into the shadows, slipping into her Nega-form like it was a second skin. Her muscles ached in resistance, the weariness from her dream battles carrying over into real life, but nevertheless she stalked slowly and silently through the fog, finally discerning a figure a good distance away with what looked like a pair of triangles on her head. Zircon's eyes widened: either someone had an interesting way of tying their pig-tails (given the current fashion, the notion wasn't too outlandish) or she had literally just stumbled across a guardian cat.

She could prove to Zinkenite that she was worth being a part of the Negaverse. She had to make this kill.

The only notice of her approach were the soft clicks of her boot-heels on the pavement and the tiny crack of sound that came from summoning two paper airplanes from thin air. At this distance, and the way she held them, they might as well have looked like blades with the predatory way she carried herself. All the same, Zircon was not without mercy. "If you give up now," she murmured quietly, "I promise this will be quick."

Senri's manager would be displeased with him. As Sailor Zephyr, he was out at all hours of the night. Not that Sailor Zephyr had much of a choice, especially after the Elysion Battle. However, he wasn't concerned that fact as much as the fact that this was not a sane hour to be awake at.

His head and back were killing him.. Zephyr ran a tired hand over his face, thinking of his apartment. It would be easier to head there, and the schedule for the rest of his day consisted of..

"..?" Zephyr halted his thoughts. That was when the power surge of two differing individuals reached Zephyr -- Zephyr having enough experience to realize that one was a negaverse agent. The other... well, Zephyr hadn't experienced that since he had first become a senshi. "Well, well.." Zephyr stroked his chin thoughtfully, finding this turn of events interesting, his mouth curving into a smile.

"When the cat's away, the mice will play." Not in the proverbial sense, but a completely literal and figurative sense. If one considered the negaverse to be nothing more than the pesky rodents.

Within seconds, Sailor Zephyr had disappeared from his current position.

Maybe it would been better if she would had ran into a youma. Youmas were stupid, mindless monsters, not like Negaverse officers who were intelligent people, more or less. As the power signature of the lieutenant Zircon were registered in guardian cat's brains, Cora turned around on her heels, only to notice an intimidating shadow coming towards her through the fog.

Oh no.

She flicked her ears, trying to sense senshi energy near by but failing. The intimidacy of coming Negaverse officer was reminding constantly Cora of it's presence, ruining her attempts to concentrate and act. Anxiosity was building inside the guardian cat, taking a little by little control of her body. Instictly, she took a step backwards. And another. And another. And another.

She was practically walking backwards now, her feet leading her to small back street, to a trap. However, that she didn't know. All she knew she was in trouble.

Lieutenant Zircon didn't bother with racing forward to catch the guardian cat: no, as long as the girl only took anxious steps backwards, she could meet them easily, her strides brisk and energized. As she closed the distance, the fog revealed more of her features, the creamy clothing, the frightened face, but none of the particulars seemed to daunt the woman's stoic face as she paused, staring down the cat with pursed lips.

In mid-stride, Zircon stopped, not because she sensed another senshi in the area (with Cora's power blazing bright in front of her, it would be hard to concentrate on anything else), but because she wanted to savor the moment where she cornered her first guardian cat.

Slowly, she lowered her guard, feeling fairly confident because of the lack of other energies in the area. "I don't think running counts as giving up," said the lieutenant in a scolding tone. "You have one more chance." And all at once, Zircon snapped to action, rushing for Cora with an arm outstretched for her pale little throat. Paper airplanes couldn't kill people, but a good grip certainly could.

"Not yet." Zephyr's voice originated from the roof above them, the lieutenant's grip interrupted by Zephyr's jump as he landed right in between the guardian cat and negaverse officer. "One more chance? Thanks for the thought. " Zephyr responded with a cheerful and relaxed smile.

But he had no intention of letting her through.

His hand caught the negaverse's wrist in his own grip -- the strength of his grip belying his gender if nothing else had given it away. Blue eyes flickered towards the young beauty behind him. Whatever he saw in the guardian cat's frightened face had him brusquely turning around, and his gaze settled back upon his opponent. With a confident smirk, looking down upon the female negaverse officer -- Zephyr proposed, "Why don't you play with me instead?"

"I don't disappoint." And if only to prove it, his balled fist came from underneath, aiming for the lieutent's stomach.

She was coming closer. With every stride she was coming closer to the guardian cat who was shivering of fear now. The fog was thinner in the back street and she could see Zircon's eyes, peering right into her own. Lieutenant's scolding went for the deaf ears as the cat girl could only stare with widened eyes her arm stretching towards her.

"A-ahh!" the girl cried and hurried backwards. Her bare foot met with slippery black ice that had formed on the street, making her lose balance and fall backwards. At the same time, she shut her eyes and waited for the attack to come.

Please, someone save me.

Her butt hit the ground, sending an unpleasant shiver of pain through her body. But the lieutenant's attack, it never even touched her skin. She waited for it, her body trembling of fear as she imagined lieutenant's arm wrapped against her throat and squeezing like the teal-haired had done to Hypnos.

But that never happened.

Huh? What happened?

Carefully, Cora opened her pink eyes. Her gaze found Sailor Zephyr's back and a coat that (with the help of nearby street light) was casting partial shadows on her fragile figure.

With amazement, she watched as the fight between the sailor and lieutenant started.

My hero.

At first, Zircon seemed surprise by the sudden appearance of the senshi, but her eyes quickly narrowed, the muscles in the arm he held tensing and preparing for attack. This would have been such an easy kill, if not for him and his dramatic little entrance.

But if she could get both kills...

"You'd better not," she quipped in response, thoroughly annoyed that her plans could turn so sour so quickly. Her stomach took the unseen hit hard, and she gasped as she took a step backwards, blinking away the flash of pain that had just dashed across her line of vision. Rage washed over in replacement of the sharp pangs of pain, and with a snap of her wrist she pulled herself free from his grasp, her expression decidedly more feral than before.

Senshi weren't supposed to engage in melee combat. That was her domain. "Didn't anyone ever tell you that sucker punches aren't polite?" She threw a fist straight towards his face, as if to show him the honorable way to beat the s**t out of someone. After all, she was a lieutenant of the Negaverse: she had to have class, even when killing the opponent.

Following the rules? How laughable. Honor was an ironic comparison with what the ideals of the negaverse consisted of. And if this particular negaverser expected the senshi to, well, she would be in for a rude awakening. "I must have missed the memo." He responded with a grin, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.

Physical combat wasn't Zephyr's strong point -- his blue eyes catching sight of Zircon's punch but didn't manage to evade it. He lifted his head, taking a step back from her range but Zircon's punch sent him staggering back. He was dazed for a few seconds, and then regained his sense of surroundings. "Ouch." He remarked with a wince, fingering his cheek. That would leave a bruise. His manager wouldn't be happy with that. Needless to say, the hit hadn't deterred his confidence. The henshin pen rustled in his pocket, making Zephyr sigh at the reminder. With a smirk, "Let me apologize." One really shouldn't apologize for what they didn't mean. That included Sailor Zephyr as well.

He leaped forward, ducking beneath the range of Zircon's fists, and held out his gloved hand. He needed to finish this quickly -- playing around with a negaverser, as fun as it may be, would invite others to their location. And that was something that Zephyr couldn't afford. Especially with the girl behind him.

"Break Wind!" His senshi attack proved powerful with youma, but he had yet to experience it with negaversers.

There was so little she could do to help the senshi who had came to rescue her. Her heart was still beating in rapid speed and she could barely do much more than hope the senshi would win. She moved a little closer to the wall on the side of the street that was closer to her, hoping that they would not stumble on her or anything.

She cheered silently when the senshi got his hit in. But then it was lieutenant's turn. She couldn't watch. She heard his wince, would there be another hit coming towards the senshi.

"Break Wind!"

She heard it. She felt the wind. Could she watch? Would she watch?

No. Not until the battle would be over and it would be safe to look.
