A Guide to Monsters

Among the many different areas there are in the world, there exist as many versatile monsters to inhabit them.

A Guide to Sizes

Small monsters are generally the size of the average hunter, sometimes even a little bigger

Medium monsters are generally bigger than a hunter but smaller than or the same size as a good sized house

Large monsters are generally bigger than a good sized house but small enough so that their heads aren't much bigger than a hunter

Giant monsters are generally big enough that they could swallow a hunter without a pause but are small enough that they can still remain in a single area for an entire lifetime

Monstrous monsters are generally big enough that they cannot stay in one single area and are often nomads and their immense size daunts even the most experienced hunter

A Guide to Profiles

Official Name: the official name is the full name given to each monster, accepted and registered in the guild

Nicknames: any and all nicknames given to a monster by the hunter community

Titles: names given to monsters before their official names, often long and exaggerated

Size: the average size of the type of monster

Status Inflictions: normally unwholesome effects given to hunters by special features on the monster

Weakness: type of element that seems to affect the monster the most

Habitat: the areas the monster type usually creates its nest in

Biography: more information known about the monster that doesn't fit in any previous categories

A Guide to Status Inflictions

Burn: when a hunter is burned, their health slowly decreases due to damage caused by said burns

Freeze: a hunter's mobility is the main thing to suffer when they are frozen but it may melt quickly depending on the monster

Waterblight: a hunter's stamina suffers greatly when waterblight has affected them, but it will usually wear off within a few minutes

Paralysis: when a hunter is paralyzed, they are unable to move, leaving them vulnerable to attack but they may gain their mobility back when attacked

Poison: poisoning affects a hunters health over time until they can get help or if it wears off

Sleep: some monsters can cause sleep in which a hunter can only awake when they are attacked


Certain hunters can only hunt certain monsters, rookie hunters are - because of experience - limited to smaller monsters and weak bosses while experienced hunters are allowed bigger monsters and tougher bosses
