Pya pawed at the ground restlessly. The large somewhat old lion was bored. He left his family quite some time ago and he had yet to find someone or something to occupy his time since. He had been hoping today that he would find the body of some deceased animal, he wasn't really picky about what the animal was, as long it was recently deceased so he could study it, but at last he hadn't had any such luck. The dark male let out a great sight. It was frustrating to live what felt like such a meaningless life.

Finally he decided that he wasn't going to go anywhere today the brown male found himself a tree to lay under. He looked up into the sky watching for any sort of scavanger creatures to be circling. The vultures where always good to tell him where he might be able to find a body to study, but at last the sky was clear, not a cloud nor bird in site.

Hoaka was in a similar situation to the lion he had yet to meet. He too had left his family, but not nearly as long ago. He had left to find something, he was incompplete or at least he felt like he was. Technically he supposed he was completely in tact. He had all his limbs, his fur, his teeth, his sense. But his soul felt as if it had a whole in it. As such the great purple lion had left his home and began to search. He had no idea the direction he should take, or what it was exactly he was looking for but he was on his way to it... whatever it was.

After travelling the better part of the day Hoaka had grown tired. He kept his eyes open for somewhere to rest, the desert after all wasn't always known for its hospitbleness. It was then he spoted the tree not to far away, it was the first tree he had seen in what seemed like miles. He began to head towards it a smile on his face, this would make a glorious place to rest for the night, and if there was any luck he would be able to find some sort of water close by and perhaps even a bit to eat.

Pya smelt the other lion long before he saw him, the wind was in his favour. He perked up slightly unwilling to actually get up from his comfortable position but he didn't want to be caught off gaurd either. He watched as the lion made his was towards him, heading right for his tree. He put his ears back for a moment, did this strange mean harm, or was he just a wondering traveller looking for a place to rest? Finally deciding it was in his best interest to be more alert the older lion rose to his feet. He did not take on a threatening stance, he just wnated to let the other lion know that he was not prey, and that he would put up a fight if that was what the other lion was looking for.

Hoaka didn't see the other lione untill he stood. The lion that was there underneath the tree that he had intended to sleep under had after all blended in so well with his surrondings, matching quite well the tree back and dry grass that surronded him. Hoaka slowed his pace to a slower walk, he wanted the other lion to think that he was any sort of threat. Hoaka although quite broad in size was night a fighter. He had never picked a fight in his life not even with his siblings when he was younger.

Bowing his head in greating Hoaka got closer to the other lion. "Hello, I do not mean to intrude. I do hope that I am not tresspassing on your land." he said in greating. He was doing his best to make it clear that he was no threat, mearly a friendly traveller seeking rest.

After seeing the great purple lion bow his head Pya sat, knowing now that the othr was not a threat. "You and not tresspassing, I have simply stoped to rest here, I wouldn't mind some company." Pya told the other. He wasn't often a social creature but Pya couldn't claim the only shade in the are as his own, when really he had no claim to it at all. "My name is Pya." he told the large purple lion. He looked the other lion over, he was an odd color in Pya's opion, but to Pya all creatures should be natural in color.... its just the way things were meant to be.

"To my knowledge these lands don't belong to anyone and I have been here the last couple of days, so you do not have to worry about trasspassing, and I am not opposed to sharing the shade." he said attempting to put a smile on his face as he spoke, it wasn't a natural expression for the old lion.

Hoaka smiled in greating, something that was quite easy for the male to do, for Hoaka was a naturally happy proud lion. "It is nice to meet you Pya, my name is Hoaka." he told the other male. The other male seemed to be older then Hoaka was, not that there was anything wrong with that, just an observation. Hoaka found himself looking around the area wondering if there was any water in the area, it would be good to quench the thrist that he had, but as far as he could see there was none in the area.

"I'm glad to know that there is now claims to the land. I have been mysefl travelling for some time, and was quite happy when I saw this tree to have somewher to rest." he said the same friendly grin still on his face. "Are you also a traveller?" he asked the older lion.

Pya swallowed heavy her really wasn't the type for small chat but at the same time he didn't want to seem rude. "Yes I am a traveller, I have been travelling for more years then I can count... I lost count many many years ago." Pya tried to think back to the last time he saw his family and was unsucessful saddly. He had cared a great deal for his mother when he was younger, but he knew now that she had passed on, and Pya had no connection to his family any longer. "I suppose one day I might settle, but so far, I haven't really foudn somewhere that I would really be able to call home." Pya really wasn't ready to go into the details as to why a pride or a group might not accept him, most others where very uncomfortable with his facination with the dead.

Hoaka was glad that he had stumbled upon another traveller he found that they tended to be friendlier the those who belonged to a pride. "Ah a seasoned traveller you are." Hoaka said a chuckle in his voice. "I wish I could say the same but at last I am still learning the little things that the travellers must figure out." It had only been a fairly short time for Hoaka and he was still figuring out the safe places to sleep, how to detect a pride boreder and what to do when you were in danger. It was a work in prograss for the purple lion. "I of course miss my family but I must say I like the freedom that the dessert has to offer, though I do hope to settle." he told the other lion, it wasn't that Pya had asked but Hoaka felt he needed to say something to fill in the scilence... scilence wasn't something he delt well with.

"Hey do you happen to know if there is water in the area?" Hoaka asked Pya. He had said he had been in the area for sometime, Hoaka guessed that that meant there could be some water foudn somewhere close by no one could live without water for too long, it jsut wasn't natural for animals, they all got thirsty.

Pya began to nod before the question was fully over. "Yes there is water just up over that ridge, it is only a small creak, but it works to quench the thirst of a hot dry day." he told the other male. Pya was starting to relax and enjoy his complany, but at the same time he could use a few minutes to prepare himself if the male was going to stay the night under the same tree as him. Pya wasa little odd at the best of times after all and not many understood him, he would have to do his best to mentally prepare while the other one went to get rid of his thrist.

"Ah excellent" Hoaka said in relpy turning to look at the ridge in question. It wasn't too far nor was it too high, it wouldn't talk the young lion long to get there and back. "If you could excuse me breifly I think I will go get myself a drink and maybe small game." Then I will return here for the night. I promis not to intrude on you for longer then the night though, I will be on my way in the morning I will never find what I am looking for if I don't keep moving." When he saw no protest from the brown lion he turned and head quickly towards the ridge and the water. He would be back soon enough he figured. He was after all looking forward to a good night sleep, it was bound to be better knowing that someone else was there listening for any threats that might be coming there way.
