ZONE 2 -- Leopard's Eye Lava Beds

Though one zone of Elysion has been lost to the Negaverse's control, it has only pushed the senshi outwards in search of a new foothold. Though somewhat mollified by the greater threat to the realm she is tasked to protect, it seems that the Dream Preistess is still not very pleased to have intruders of any kind! So the senshi were forced to move outwards into the northern region of Elysion, the odd and abrupt changes once again happening as they moved towards a mountain in the distance.

The ground became more and more solid, blackening into what looked to be the remains of a great lava flow. The ground started to give way to odd ripples on the incline of the mountain -- which wasn't a mountain at all but a volcano! Gasses steamed from the ground and at the summit there was even a minor pool of lava.

It was the perfect place for a battle.

General Rules and Guidelines

  • This will be an event-based battle that any character in the shop may join. This includes civilians and there will be no sign-up required.

  • Missed the beginning of the battle? That's okay! Just hop in whenever you get here!

  • The side that wins the battle will also win this zone, and claim the right to set RPs in it (including its unique conditions) until the end of the event.

  • Chibi senshi have been powered up by a bit of the Guardians' remaining dream energy in order to help keep them safe should they turn up in this realm. As a consequence, they have become just as powerful as normal senshi while in Elysion. While we believe that a warzone is no place for children, you can still enter them if you like.

  • Civilian characters have been powered as well by the strange energy in Elysion. They don't understand anything more than they are in an odd dream and can do some pretty cool things. Consider them on the rank of a youma in power and movement. Less powerful than a senshi or lieutenant, but still able to take harder hits and move a bit faster than they would normally.

Battle Rules and Guidelines

  • Though this battle is not quite last-man standing, you may still only enter one of your characters in this battle. Disposable, senshi, civ, nega, pick only one please!

  • Please include the name of the person you are targeting IN BOLD TEXT. To avoid any confusion, please use their actual name instead of a short description.

  • If you play a senshi and are using your attack, please include a short description of your attack so people know what to react to!

  • Please remember common RP courtesy and do not throw people into lava without asking them. That is rude!

  • The secret condition of the last battle has been removed. Attacking Leopard's Eye will yield you nothing other than a face full of his lava. There is no secret way to win this battle.

How To Play!

  • I will roll one d10 dice.

  • You will have half an hour to roll a d10 and try to match or beat my number.

  • Anyone beneath that number will suffer the mystery effect!

Changes So Far!

  • You are all incredibly acrobatic.
  • The ground shakes randomly, there is smoke coming from the volcano, and a large fissure has opened at Hypnos' feet.
  • Tremors have gotten stronger, there is more smoke, and child-sized rock monsters are coming out of the ground to attack anyone.
  • The volcano has blown! Lava is running in rivulets down the side of the mountain and the monsters have exploded.

Heat. It was the kind of heat that you felt beat down on your neck and shoulders on a summer's day, but there was no sun here, and you knew it wasn't summer. Those strange constellations glimmered overhead as steam and smoke vented towards the sky from various points on the uneven ground.

The senshi had originally started to take stake here, hoping that maybe just maybe the Negaverse would be satisfied with the burnt remnants of Quail-Eye's Field. Unfortunately, like all proponents of Chaos, the Negaverse was always hungry for more more more. It wouldn't be satisfied until it had driven every senshi out of Elysion and claimed it for themselves once more.

Skirted sailor soldiers had the high ground, the volcano at their backs as the Negaverse marched onto the cracked and hardened fossils of a great explosion.

Battle had begun once more.

Chloe at this point, was getting admittingly a little tired of this dream world. While she was dutiful... wanting to protect the dreams, drive the negaversers out... she just wanted ONE night of good sleep. The nights were getting longer in the real realm, making these nightmares longer than the average 8 hours.

She had been tempted to shift schedules, to awake at night and sleep during the day... but like a war, she could not take the easy route. And if that meant defending a patch of burnt and boiling earth? She would. Like she was just about to do now... The senshi were here on this rock in northern Elysion. Youd think the negaverse would have been happy with that burnt to a crisp field, but no.... they had to want the lava pools too. Chloe had to admit, she liked the idea of a grassy field more than a pool of lava. This lava pit would have made a HQ worthy of a comic book villian.

Not that she would let it get that far... if she could help it.

The feline attempted to puff herself out as far as she can... yeah right. Tiny little 'cute' kitty looking intimidating.

Maia was with the senshi in this land of heat that was not made for her fuku. She was hot and irritable and did not really wish confrontation right now, but she could see them and feel them as the made their way toward the hight ground. Maia frowned, the negaverse was advancing on them once more. This time she felt more ready to deal with the threat this time, but she did not run off charging into battle.

Wasn't that how the last battle had started and it hadn't ended well.

Anthony Darrow probably should have known better than to think he could get a normal night's sleep. Having finally drifted into a state of restful silence, he had felt one fleeting sigh of relief before dropping off, like, at last, he would be able to get a peaceful night of pure rest.

And then he woke up to find himself in hell.

Or so he thought for a moment as his eyes opened and he looked around, standing and wobbling from his less than comfortable bed of rock. Not a bed composed of rocks, so much as a single rock sticking in his back. The pain of it told him instantly, coupled with the heat he could feel sliding over his skin from the air around him, that this was no dream. Or at least not a normal one. And yet, not entirely unfamiliar, for all his experience in strange things.

He looked around, realizing he was not alone here.

Lacking his cane, he felt a bit under prepared. He had gotten very used to clinging to it like a weapon, one line of defense afforded to him that he had some practice with, and felt confident, even competent, with when things got rough. Now, in a place like this, with a creeping feeling that he absolutely needed some of that confidence and protection, he had none. He took a deep breath, looking around, for someone he might recognize, or, even better, for a way out. A bed he could just lay back down on and go back to sleep to wake up in the right world?

That would be nice.

Zinkenite scowled out at the Invaders, interlopers, twisted aliens and their silver tongues swaying the very guardians of this place. It would be ridiculous to say he wasn't the least bit edgy about the fiery fields, he was already quite sure who...or perhaps what was a better word...they would find here. That unreasonable leopard and his flaming everything.
He wished they could still have the wings from the other field they had earned almost, then at least they could provide an ariel assault on the Senshi, whom unfortunately had taken the high ground.
He popped his knuckles scanning positions, trying to remember names, trying to remember powers and the ranges of those powers. He'd pass them on if he had time, if nothing else it would serve HIM well in the coming fight.
They did this once...they could do it again.

At least the heat was a nice break from winter? Ganymede’s outfit didn’t exactly provide him with great insulation, so the change wasn’t completely undesirable to him. Okay, so it was hot as hell. He had to be in hell. There was no other way to describe this cursed experience. And the heat did horrible things to his hair. If he had to strut around in this outfit – which he actually happened to find quite fabulous – and deal with all these people, couldn’t the magicalness of it extend to keeping his hair from becoming a frizzy mess?

Ugh. Focus. Focus. There were more important things to worry about. Like why he was even here again. Or what the hell he intended to do. Probably try to keep out of the way, though that hadn’t worked out too well the last time. He had the broken wrist to prove it. Who knew how crappy things would turn out this time? They were by some freaking volcano! Nothing good could come from it. Nothing good could come from any of this, he was convinced of it.

And the uneven terrain was hell to manage in heels. Absolute hell.

Wolframite had hated those blasted wings from before, and was glad for the fact he was on the ground once more. However, as a cruel touch of irony, the ground rose in wafting heat and sick smell of something burning, ash, and sulfur. Even in a dream realm, he could smell it, feel it sing his nose hairs, and feel the scratchy heat crawl down his throat and make his eyes tear up. If it wasn't real, why did it feel this way? He hastily rubbed his one uncovered eye as he walked ahead, looking around for any signs of something to either go after or go towards. In every direction, it all seemed a wasteland, and he'd rather turn back to greener pastures than to this blazing rock. It was the fact that leaving it would give it over to the senshi that kept him in place. He didn't see anyone as of yet, and continued to move through rolling heat that made him wish he had some ice cubes and some bottled water. This place could really use a fountain.

Wiping his brow, he suddenly saw the huge downside of being so modestly dressed. He was baking!

Captain Alumo tugged at the collar of his uniform, forcing himself to hold back from grumbling about the heat. Who decided to make a magical dream realm in the midst of a volcano? Clearly someone with a bad sense of humor. Or maybe someone who’s read The Lord of the Rings one too many times.

A polished brown boot stood out against the black as the Negaverse Captain placed his foot up on a raised portion of the hardened lava flow, an arm resting against his thigh as he peered out over the landscape. There was a battle brewing on the horizon, and Alumo was ready for action, despite his previous injuries. The broken rib from Nemesis’s kick had mostly healed, or at least healed enough for him to be back on the front lines. The bruising around his eye had gone down as well, for which he was grateful. The uniform didn’t go well with pathetic injuries like a black eye.

Quail-Eye’s Field was theirs, and Alumo couldn’t help but stand proud on that note. No, he hadn’t lasted all the way until the end, having been kicked out of the realm by some unknown force — most likely the now disgraced guardian — but he’d done what he could, and liked to think that his effort hadn’t been in vain.

Dark eyes scanned over the blackened field, heat visibly rising from the surface of the stone that had cooled enough to harden. There was no use complaining about the conditions of the environment when winning this field would be one step closer to cornering the Sailor Senshi once and for all.

Soon, they wouldn’t be able to escape.

Invaders.

Leopard's Eye did not distinguish between the white-clad senshi or the black garbed Negaverse. Good and evil, right and wrong, all of the arguments they gave to justify their actions had no place in the sanctuary of Elysion. It was not for him to decide whose war was just and whose was not. He had no interesting in it, anyways. What did he care about their petty conflicts? His duty was, and had been in his previous existence, to protect the domain that both sides sought to control.

Especially his domain.

As one by one the senshi, negaverse, and civilians appeared, the lava began to churn and bubble. It slopped over the rim of the lava pool and ran in tiny rivulets down the blackened sides, cooling into new rock formations before it ever reached the bottom. Still, it was enough to know that something was happening up there. Those who looked up would see a figure emerging from the pool, white eyes in a fiery red silhouette.

Their arrival had woken the Guardian, each and every new energy signature pulling him further and further out of his blissful nap.

Which he just so happened to be taking at the bottom of the lava pool.

”GET. OUT,” his voice boomed from atop the volcano, fists clenched at his sides.

"NOW."

Now this was strange. Gianfar must have dozed off while studying. He hadn't been awakened to his senshi powers long, so this was all new to him...but damn was this place hot! He sighed and tugged a bit at his collar to try and get some air flow going. He looked around to see where exactly he was, spotting a small cat nearby. "Hey there, kitty." He called to her with a smile, waving at the cat.

But there were others here that needed to be accounted for, fanning himself with one of his hands like some dainty little school girl. Why a volcano? Couldn't they be somewhere nicer? Like a lovely field of flowers or something? Wait...was that Tony? What was Tony doing here?! Eyes wide, he looked around once again to be sure he was safe. Er..as safe as he could be given their current location. So many negaverse...!

Suddenly there came a booming voice and Gianfar gasped, turning around and jumping back away from the booming voice. Oh goodness, that was not the voice of someone who wanted them around.

Azzo had just drifted off to sleep. It was a nice sleep too, one that seemed would've been most peaceful in a while. However, he didn't count on his dreams to interrupt it.

He blinked standing near senshi looking at a very angry Leopard eye as he appeared out of a lava pool. "I have got to stop eating those burritos before bed." He muttered it seemed real enough the smell of sulfur was almost over powering.

There was a frown, this was unfortunate and seemed to be rather dangerous. However he sighed and ran a hand through his hair, "If I didn't know any better..." He paused, yup he saw the negaverse too. "Yeah.... I really need to lay off the spicy foods before bed." He frowned, it'd been a long time since he'd got burritos.

Zirconia felt like pacing, but managed to keep herself rooted. Ugh, she did not want to be here. Elysion was sort of like a creepy, frightening place where, the more she thought about it, the more she wanted to avoid it and it's keepers.

But after the senshi's recent defeat at Quail's Eye's field, she finally got up the courage to show up and just be there.

But still, the oncoming enemy made her fur stand on end. A partial relief since the thick, snow proof coat had at first provided protection against the outside temperature, but was now making her feel like she'd melt any second now.

Frantically she scanned the senshi crowd for those that belonged to her, quick to spot Maia, and continuing to search. Not just for her usual favorite, but anyone, really. Even cadets were worth keeping a concerned eye on, especially so under the circumstances and their recent loss. It was nerve wracking, at least for the old cat who wasn't used to having to watch this stuff go down.

And then, suddenly, she heard Leopard's eye and her claws lightly scratched on the ground below as she fought to stay rooted, fur outright puffy in all her anxiety. Oh geeez, he sounded cranky. Well obviously, but still, the Eyes made her more nervous than anything, including the lava.

But she was here for the Blood Moon Court, and she wouldn't retreat that easily.
