His daughters were of age...
...and it scared him. For the last several days, Kame felt nothing but the overwhelming urge to stack rocks at the entrance of his den and keep his daughters locked inside for all eternity. A selfish thing, he knew, but the fact that one by one his daughters were being asked and his den was becoming empty it was an understandable feeling for any Pad who actually loved his family and didn't just view their daughters as currency.
"They should stay home forever," He muttered, watching as several other Pesar and Pads trotted by, accompanied by their sisters or Banu. He tried to convince them to stay home forever in one of his dreams, but his dreams were not reality and he knew he could not simply keep them forever. They'd miss their opportunity for happiness and he didn't want to deny them something he himself had.
He sighed. He would have to suck this up and deal with the fact he wasn't really losing his family, they were just growing up.... It still wasn't easy.

Elam was walking towards her den. He felt like his mouth was dry he was full of worry. He didn't know how this was going to go, he had to ask permission, his beybanu had just come with him willingly she was a rouge there was no one to ask for permission. He was walking slower then he normally did, he was hoping to take a little longer to get there. Perhaps in the time he would be able to find words that he would need.
Elam kept his head held high as he approached the den, he didn't want to appear as week. He was a strong male, a good male, he came from a respected family in the pride. His grandfather was Anchal a well known well like Pad. His mother was known for being one of the best banu in the pride, her petite in size and mild mannered, she had never done something bad in her life. Elam's father was a good Pad too, he treated his Banu well as long as they listened. Elam wasn't like his father though, he didn't think it would be possible to raise a paw against anyone unless they were going to hurt his family.

It was several moments before Kame realized that out of the Pesars, Pads and Banu that had been wandering by there was one who seemed out of place. He was not following the paths but instead walked with purpose in Kame's direction. His ears flickered for a moment, back to his head and than foreward as he tried to figure out the male approaching. He recognized the markings and was not pleased for a brief moment.
He was the son of Pad Kwea, one known for believing in harsh punishment against a female. Kame didn't agree with it one bit, and felt sorry for the Banu he used as target practice. From what he had gathered on intell, the child's mother had escaped from this place, leaving Kame to believe she was taken against her will and thoroughly unhappy. and to so discourage her, her Pad beat her. It was sick. She seemed so timid and mild.
Despite this, Kame had not heard anything bad of Kwea's sons, and one other had already approached him about his daughter Tasleem. He seemed like a nice lad, so Kame could only hope this one was also kind hearted.

Elam tired to keep his head up and be confident he didn't want the other male to think him as being week, but at the same time he didn't want to seem overbearing. Elam knew that his father had a reputation about the pride as being harsh, but Elam wasn't like him, he didn't have a harsh bone in his body. He was musch more like his mother and grandfather. Very mellow and polite, he found that it got a better reaction from most.
Reaching the other male Elam bowed lightly. "Hello Sir." he said he was very formal. He was a little nervous about asking permission for the males daughter, Kame was know to be protective of his daughters. He was a good pad and very kind. "My name is Elam." he told him though he knew it was likely that the older male knew his name already.
