History:
Originally hailing from the quiet realm of Woodhaven, Lirian is the eldest son of two (relatively) stable and loving parents. Zephyr was a retired fighter, a rough old hog who had relished in roaming the land during his younger days and protecting the areas around his home from danger, doing the same for anyone too weak to fight for themselves. This righteous and adventuresome lifestyle persisted until Zephyr ran into a group of Sunhedgers in peril one day, assisting them in a scuffle against a small band of brigands and rescuing his future wife, Delilah, in the process. Though she wasn't a warrior herself, her kind mannerisms and sweet disposition struck something in the young warrior, who had never really given much thought to romance before. He traveled with her and her companions for a time, getting to know her, the both of them quickly falling in love. Despite a devout upbringing in Sunhedge, Delilah allowed her mate to convince her to settle down into a home in Woodhaven, a safe and quiet place to raise a family. Before long, Lirian and Addie were born.
Lirian's childhood was a sweet one. However, as with all families, they had their various troubles. Both parents had their weaknesses, with their gruff father sometimes being a little too harsh, and mom sometimes being a little too preachy about her faith. They had had the odd fight, as Zephyr had hardly been the religious type. It was really one of the few problems the couple had ever had to deal with. Growing up, Lirian's relationship with his father was strained at times, though he had always simultaneously idolized him, captivated by the many stories that Zephyr had told them about his travels. He and his sister were sometimes spoiled rotten by their mother, who loved her children dearly, as mothers tend to do.
Lirian and his sister grew to adulthood in Woodhaven, learning together, and sharing the close bond that most siblings do. Lirian showed promise as a builder, having inherited his father's focus and strength. The boy had little interest in becoming a warrior, much to his father's slight disappointment (one of the factors that caused tension between them). After a time, both Zephyr and Delilah passed away, gently claimed by old age, one after the other. It was a bittersweet affair for the siblings, both adults by that time. The death of their parents was the catalyst that sent them slowly drifting apart.
Adelle decided to leave for Sunhenge, drawn by the urge to discover her roots and become closer to their mother's side of the family. Lirian set out on his own to see the land for himself as his father had, vowing to keep in touch with his baby sister and to go up and visit when he could. Lirian adventured for a short time, suffering through a few bad shenanigans that eventually landed him in a place called Fleuve, with a strong hankering to rest.
And rest he did. Lirian settled down on the outskirts of the tribe after proving himself to the locals by showing his talent as a boat builder and carpenter. The blonde hog is fascinated by their bridge and dam architecture.
Currently:
Lirian leads a quiet life on the river in a house crafted from a large hollow log with a burrow underneath it, lending a hand in whatever carpentry projects the tribe happens to have going on at the time. He has also recently adopted a young ferret, Zander, from Mossflower and is teaching the youngster his craft and learning a lot from the kid in turn.
Personality:
When you first meet him, he could seem like the biggest bum in existence. Having settled into the luxurious and safe setting of Fleuve, Lirian takes it upon himself to spend a good amount of time relaxing, fishing, or having fun. But when he isn't doing these things, he's working. A value instilled by his father, Lirian takes great pride in his chosen career, and will not hesitate to devote days of labor to help complete a project. A lover of fun, Lirian will never turn down an invitation to party, and has a secret bashful love of singing, and playing the flute.
Aside from doing dam and boat work, Lir also does a lot of smaller projects on the side. He's a very good whittler and often makes many small creations to sell at Mossflower on the days he chooses to go there. These include small wooden toys of all sorts (often painted using pigments from plants), small furniture items such as stools, bowls, utensils, and many other odds and ends that he figures people would like or find useful.
