Home, the place he had lived his whole life was quite a distance behind him. Not that he minded at all, his father had been a rogue and if he was classed as that now, well he really didn't mind. The pull of home, the pull of belonging some where just didn't interest him. At least not at this moment in time. His father had roamed a lot when he was a youngster, seeing the world before he had met his mother. The stories that had been told! Well they were well worth investigating and he was young enough to pull out all of the stops and explore.
So, he was a rogue and that was fine, great, wonderful, but there was a problem. He was starting to feel a touch lonely. His father he knew had, had a similar experience which was why he had joined the pride he had belonged to, loneliness and well, he hated to say it, some tail.
The thought that his mother was that tail both annoyed, amused and scared him. His father was so cavalier about these things, but he had been loyal to his mother once things were settled. He wondered if he would ever have a female like his father did, strong willed, a but nuts really, but beautiful.
Eh, life was too short to be thinking about that right now, he was a rogue, he was lonely, time to find some buddies.. acquaintances....just someone to talk to he was going stir crazy. Lifting his nose tot he wind he trots in any which direction, hoping to find someone to strike up a conversation with.

So, this entire journey has been completely fruitless, Shiva thought miserably to herself while stalking across the grassy plains. Ignoring the wary glance and twitching ears of a small herd of gazelle at her right shoulder, though their anxiety irritated her greatly. She was in no mood or a meal, not with the way her stomach twisted in knots at the thought of never being able to return home. To be destined to roam these detestable lands and possibly settle down with some uncouth, brainless lion for the sake of safety and the continuation of her proud linea---
No! Shouting in no one in particular at the thought, her paw pressed firmly into the earth which shifted beneath the strength of her determination. The gazelles, now behind her, springing like crickets disturbed in the tall weeds shattering the peaceful silence as they cried out in surprise. Ugh.. stupid beasts.
Clucking her tongue at them, the lovely little kajira rolled her eyes and proceeded to continue wandering along to no where in particular now that she was homeless. Reassuring her restless mind in a much quieter voice. Even if I die alone, I would never stoop so low as to soil our bloodline by mating to an unfit male.
After all, that was how she'd ended up out here in the first place, wasn't it?

His light ears twitched as the shout echoed through the air. His eyes widened slightly as the small herd bolted towards him only yo see it twitch and ping off in a different direction. he sometimes wondered just how smart herd beasts were, they bolted at the smallest noise. of course, the lionesses shout had hardly been small. Light coloured eyes roved the soft pale coloured female, his gaze not at all guarded.
Pursing his lips he makes a sound not unlike a wolf whistle, a flush of air through his teeth, something his father had taught him how to do. Something he had been told, annoyed the hell out of his mother. Still, it seemed like a suitable situation to use the whistle and a way to get the pretty tails attention.
"Hey there beautiful, are you tired?" He lets a little smirk lift his lips as he trots perfectly confidently up to the pale lioness, his head held high, his ears held forwards, his chest puffed out, just a little. "You must be, you've been running through my mind all day." He chuckles and raises a brow before tilting his head in a sort of courteous bow. "Orion, my princess, you seem to be rather distressed do you require a rescuer?"

It was becoming something of a sixth sense out here, thought the tiger-coated lioness as her fur scrunched with displeasure. That all too familiar sensation of leering eyes trained upon her form causing her to stop and glance irritably at her surroundings. Shiva didn't have far to look, the shrill sound of and admiring call causing her ears to pin tightly to her head, revealing the pale eye-spots that sat upon the backs of the plush appendages. Suddenly finding lavender stare pointedly glaring through a sea foam colored stranger, as out of place in these surrounds as she was--perhaps more so. Unaccustomed to the catcall--pun intended--the idea that such a grating noise might have been meant to beckon her was terribly unappealing. Why couldn't the males in this place show any grace?
Oh hell, apparently, Shiva's gaze had lingered a bit too long and not expressed enough malice for the lion was suddenly trotting over to greet her. Strutting in the same preening fashion she had seen numerous times before by others all attempting to curry favor and perhaps interest, from the high class little female. His initial question was met with annoyance Am I wh--
And then complete disbelief. What?
Shiva could barely keep the grimace from forming upon her pale muzzle, as if the line had brought physical pain in its complete lack of effectiveness. Turning her attention back towards the path ahead of her as she spoke in as dismissive a fashion as was possible. Do I know you?
It wasn't meant as a question so much as a statement to clarify that she really had no desire to know him. However unlikely it was that he could have received such a discreet message in the undercarriage of her actual words. Ignoring the surprisingly polite bow as she walked, as quickly as she could without possibly alluding to the idea that she wanted to be chased, away from the uncomfortably strange situation.

Orion chuckled lightly, he knew the cat calls, the jibe, and the stupid one liners never worked. His father had told him that but usually a really good insult did. Licking his lips he takes up stride beside her, his tail held at a jaunty angle.
"I see, perhaps you aren't a princess after all. At first glance I thought, hmm, beautiful, but the look of disdain shows your true colours. I suppose a rotten flower shouldn't attract my attention so much." He sighed an over exasperated sigh his eyes flickering to the pretty little female. He looked her up and down, showing contempt in his gaze. "Yes far too chubby, I'll leave you be." He turned slowly, excruciatingly slowly, if she didn't rise to his jibe well she wasn't the girl for him.
Something in the way she moved though definitely attracted his attention and though he moved to leave her, he hoped she would turn and snap at him. A good claw across the cheek is what he deserved, a good snap as the female leapt from her tiny little box. It made his heart all fluttery and his breath come quickly, but he held all of this in, he wanted to see her flip out at him. He wanted to see anger in her eyes. He wanted her to react to his name calling. "Never mind wilted rose, not everyone can be beautiful."

Apparently, the hint wasn't subtle enough or maybe the lion was just dense. What had he called himself? Orion? It was a sturdy enough name for being unlike those from the lands where Shiva hailed. Enough so that she almost considered taking him seriously as he fell in step with her. But then... well.. this happened.
Yes far too chubby. Not everyone can be beautiful. Chubby? Chubby! How dare he?! Who did this mangy rogue think he was to speak to her in such a way? Haughty, proudly carried head lifting a little higher as she whipped around to glare down her slender muzzle at the knave. Claws unsheathed and digging at the gravel beneath her paws with growing agitation. Let him be so bold as to speak to her in such a way again and see just what came of it. Lavender hues blazing as thin layers of sinew flexed and roiled beneath her luscious pelt. Who the hell do you think you are to speak to me that way?! I would never allow a fleabag like you to talk down to me like that! You had best apologize if you know what's good for you!

Orion raised a curious brow, a slight smirk lifting his lips. "I'm sorry little hippo were you addressing me?" His eyes danced in a very amused fashion, oh she was going to flip out on him and he was ready for it. He had been taught well how to prod at a females weak spot and this one, well, she obviously thought she was the bees knees. He wanted to put her down a few pegs but encourage her to try it. He was after all a full grown lion and he was no push over. Snap, bite, scratch, he liked the fire in her eyes, yes, she was definitely interesting enough to stick around for.
He ignored her insult and addressed her with an all too roguish grin. "I think, my portly princess, that you need to look at yourself before you call anyone a flea bag." He looked over her with clear disdain in his gaze, oh how he longed for the snap. It was coming, he could see it. Perhaps one more.
"What am I saying. I do apologize, I should stop calling you princess, I think Little hippo the rogue would be much more fitting. Unless I can procure a name from that sour little maw of yours hmm??"
((BTW feel free to smack him good style XD! he deserves it.))

Never in her life had Shiva wanted to smack a male so badly. Actually, before today such a blasphemous thought had never even crossed the mind of this perfect little banu. Such a thing would have meant destroying everything she had worked so hard to attain. Not that that didn't seem to be crumbling around her anyway.
Orion, however, seemed to be begging for a taste of her claws. How could she not oblige? Lunging to swipe at the male's face, slender arm arcing towards his face without any warning at all. Truthfully she was too mad to think of anything clever to say anyway.
[ Sorry this is so short. Was having trouble with what to write so I decided to just crank something out so I could get the rp moving again. I didn't have Shiva land the hit so you can move Orion out of the way if you want. x3; ]
