Nyla unknowingly was roaming near the U'W pride lands, looking for her runaway daughter. The females heart was broken, she thought a month or two ago that she would see her dear Nei the next morning. Her daughter never returned. She was still young, and at first while she had her doubts she now knew her daughter was capable of surviving on her own which meant she was alive out there, somewhere. She lied down on her tummy to rest for a moment under a small tree. It was a particularly hot day with not much cover in the area, and she was starting to feel fatigue from her travels and lack of rest. "It wouldn't hurt to sleep for awhile." She thought, as her eyes began to shut.

Etana was not exactly keen on this whole 'capture a female' thing. That didn't really seem very nice, did it? His mother probably wouldn't approve if he just ran out and grabbed a random lioness and dragged her back to his home against her will. Then again, that was probably also something he wouldn't much like - after all, he'd hate being dragged around against his will! After wandering around in circles for a very long time, not at all sure of which way to go to find a proper female who'd want to come home with him, Etana felt a strange tug at his mind's eye. It may have just been a hunch, or truly come from the seer powers he gained from his deity father, but either way, the adolescent thought it was best to follow just the same. It was following this feeling that he ended up coming upon a very lovely lioness with dark fur splotched and striped with other markings. She was really something to look at, that was for sure, but she was also older and fast asleep. Would it really be a good idea to bug her? Tentatively, Etana walked over and poked at her, wondering how long she'd been there and if she was okay. "Hello?"

Nyla was fast asleep, all the burdens that her body had to deal with seemed to melt away. Suddenly something jolted her awake... an unfamiliar voice Her eyes fluttered open and as the lioness raised her head she found herself in the presence of a white male.
"You look a lot like him." She said, still drowsy and not thinking straight. She wasn't sure of how long she had actually been asleep, as sometimes the dream world could trick you into thinking a few minutes was an hour. As she went to lift herself onto her legs, she felt them wobbled beneath her. Apparently she hadn't gotten as much sleep as she would have liked.
"I mean... hello." Nyla mumbled, unsure of what the younger male wanted from here.

Etana had NOT meant to wake her up if she was that wobbly and tired - the poor lioness seemed really out of it now! Oh well, he'd already done it so full speed ahead!
"Uh Hi, I'm Etana. Uhhhh I don't know what I'm doing..." he trailed off, looking nervously around before shaking his head. Focused! Stay focused! This wasn't as easy as talking to Luti AT ALL. "What's your name, if I may ask? I mean I didn't want to bug you or anything while you're sleeping, but I'm supposed to be looking for a lioness out here and you seemed nice so I thought I'd say hi. I hope you're not annoyed?"

Nyla wasn't often caught off her guard, but the white male had done it. Looking at him was almost like seeing a ghost of her not so distant past, right down to the shaggy mane still growing in.
"My names Nyla. Please to meet you Etana." She lifted herself onto her paws, now at eye level with him. "No don't worry It's fine, I was just resting. It takes a lot of energy out of you to travel so much in one day." He seemed quite nervous for being the one who approached her to begin with. Still, his manners were something Nyla could appreciate.
"Your looking for a lioness?" She tilted her head, a bit confused about what he was trying to say. At first she thought maybe he was looking for his companion, but averting his search just to say hi to a sleeping lioness seemed... odd.
"Maybe I can help."

"Pleasure to meet you too, Nyla." he smiled some, becoming at least a little more comfortable now that she wasn't angry. That was at least good, right. "Where were you traveling from?"
Her question, however, made him bristle a little, and nervously nod, "Yeaaaaaaaaaahhhh, see, I live in the Ukuucha'Wafalme with my mother and siblings, and males are supposed to go out and find a mate to bring back to the pride with them to start their harem, otherwise they have to leave, and I'm of age so I have to go find a lioness, since I don't want to have to leave and not see my family anymore." He explained, pointing and gesturing a bit with a paw as he did, since it was kind of weird to tell a stranger.

"I've always been a nomad I guess you could say. Traveling as a rogue my whole life. Though I've never been this far away from my usual territory." Nyla had never heard of the Ukuucha'Wafalme pride before, and realized that she must have traveled way further than she originally thought.
Bring back a lioness to start a harem? This place sounded like something she might want to stay clear of. Though when the younger lion explained that he wouldn't be allowed to go back until he fulfilled his quest for a mate, Nyal couldn't help but try and help him. "Have you had any luck so far?"

"My mother was like that for a time. Before she met my father or her mate." Etana agreed, smiling some, "Her whole family was like that actually, but she wanted to settle down instead. Do you like traveling a lot?"
The blue maned male shook his head, "No, I just came this way since I had a feeling I'd find someone over here. You're the first lioness I've come across."

"I guess, though it's hard on the paws." She sighed heavily as she answered. Though the story of his mom intrigued her. That meant he was of rogue blood too, or at least half.
"That doesn't really surprise me to be honest. Your the first lion I've seen for quite some time. I was going crazy there for awhile before I decided to take my nap, it's quite unnerving to be alone in such a vast place." Only after she spoke, did she realize how the comment might affect the lions morale on his quest. "But I'm sure before you know it, there will be a lioness prime for the taking right under your nose!"
