Sudden new flat mates dragged home and moved in thanks to overly bleeding heart Roomies, was one thing. After all, on his own terms he was a bit of a bleeding heart too, on the other hand?
On the other hand finding money missing from his dresser was not 'one thing', it was another thing all together and he wasn't one to put up with it. Worse was that Ever had showed NO inclination of hauling his lazy arce out of bed, whatever he'd done with the money it'd left him bloody snookered.
Well good morning Hangover because he wasn't waiting for him to sleep it off that was for damn sure.
He loaded a small mixing bowl with ice, and a little water and balanced it on his hand, sorely tempted to toss it on him right off, but he'd be good...he'd wait till he gave him the chance for a more pleasant 'rousting' before he soaked the couch-bed.
"EVER." He said sharply setting the bowl and ice down on the side table and prodding him in the arm sharply.
"EVER!"

He'd gotten up -- briefly. Some time spent out at the library, long enough to grab something to eat so he wouldn't starve to death, and then Ever had just about passed out on Breu's couch. Again.
More than twelve hours later and he was still there, dressed in rumpled khakis that might have looked civilized if they had one, fit him, and two, been pressed straight and tidied. People had moved around him: Dee had likely slept and left, and Ever hadn't so much as budged. Even now, as Bree gave him a hard push, he winced and shifted, pale and uncomfortable, grumbled a noise: and then sank easily back into sleep, face tucked into the crook of one skinny arm.

"Christ...skiny s**t..." Muttered Breu with a sigh, if this one man flat that had been filled with 3 people wasn't actually an IMPROVEMENT for Ever he'd eat his...well he didn't have a hat.
"EVER..." He said with more force and put his hand more fully on Ever's thin shoulder to shake it rather than leave it bruised with prodding.
...Maybe he'd cook some damned supper after he threatened to remove fingers if money turned up missing like that again.
"Wake up... Up.... "
Nothing...
"EVER THE FLAT IS ON FIRE!!"

"'s not." It was a low whimper, pained, his head ducked farther downward: Ever ached, behind the eyes, a tingling across his face, a dull exhaustion that crept through him, and really all he wanted was for Breu to shut up.
His replies were still half-asleep, placating, an attempt to get the man to back off and let him sleep. Reassuring, maybe. At least he wasn't dead. They words ran drunkenly into each other. "Too cold to be on fine."

Cold? That made Breu arch an eyebrow and mutter something in Welch.
"Its not COLD don't be Daft" he said though his thick accented voice that said he was more than a little irritated.
"It's going to be a cold day in hell if you don't tell me wut happened to the bills from my dresser." He said and put a hand on the bowl of ice water, though maybe he should be checking for a temperature.
No... he was NOT playing mother hen to strays.

"Borrowed it." He finally cracked his eyes to blink up at Breu and winced at the light haloing him. It was a brief attempt, then his eyes pressed closed again and he made a little noise, arm across his eyes and legs curled upward. Ever definitely had a different concept of 'borrowing' than most people: most would have called taking the money with no real intent to pay it back 'stealing', but...
"Can I sleep now?" He looked pitiful. The best disguise he could have had.

"Borrowed implies asking eh? Yer already borrowing my couch." He put a hand against Ever's head and snorted in disgust. "And yer not sick, your hung bloody over." He said and grabbed an ice cube and dropped it on Ever.
"UP." He demanded. "You get to suffer for yer borrowing. UP!"

A pause -- and then the expected reaction, a gasp at the cold, a sudden wriggle, a desperate attempt to get out of the way of that ice cube. Ever found his feet briefly and then wobbled, one foot still half asleep and almost giving out on him, head pounding and swimming. If he could just stay up for half an hour, he'd probably be fine, but...
"...stop! Stop." His mouth felt dry, a hand dug into his eyes. He did look rather horrendously hung over, but...
"It's not. I'm not."

"it's not WUT..." Breu said incredulously. "Suck on a cube, t'll make you feel better and less like you need to shave yer tongue."
"UP..." he added after a moments pause. "We're stuffing some damn food in your face. You're helping me at the Y! when your mobile." It was not a request it was practically an order.

"The why? The what?" It was possible he was just blurry, still, but that seemed like genuine confusion. He did, at least, take an ice cube, shoving it into his mouth to wet his tongue and drawing in a shaky sort of breath.
"Ah. What time is it?" His eyes were red, that bruise still sprawling across his face, and he couldn't quite focus enough to find a clock.

"The Y... your helping kids not to be like you..." He said with a touch of sarcasm and then paused staring at the blood shot over thin, knees and elbows and ribs bruised monster before him.
"...On second thought you can clean the flat. The HELL were you drinking?"

"Didn't drink last night." It came out muffled around his ice cube, but a bit more together now that he was up. Ever winced, tugging on collar of his shirt, undoing the top few buttons to give himself some breathing room.
"Thought it was the flu, but..." No fever. No fever meant not the flu. Plus, he wasn't coughing or sneezing or anything. His eyes flashed around the place again. "Looks okay. Clean what?"

Another dazed sort of blink, baffled, and then he shook his head at Breu. It was like his words didn't parse, like Ever didn't even understand what the hell he was talking about. His eyes flicked around the place, finally focused and awake. He'd be alright, once he was all they way back together.
"...um. This place is huge, though...I mean, not huge, but...there's room?"

"The land lady rented to ONE person to the flat...I dun know that she'll be too bloody thrilled that three are three of us new." well it sounded like 'new' but it was probably 'now' all things considered.
"Plus I dun see you flipping the ruddy sofa all the teiem... we'll find a fooking footon if we have an extra room to cram the ruddy thing IF yeh start contributing to the rent."
