Spirit: Remi Georges Emilien Reynard, an ex-revolutionary who died in the turmoil of the French Revolution. An owlish little man with pale skin and a stammery voice, his demure appearance lent him an excellent capacity as a spy. The former valet of a noble family, when the Revolution dawned, Remi saw a window for advancement, betrayed them, and offered his assistance to the new government. His meticulous records of information on the family proved that he already had the predisposition to be a capable spy, so he was set to work at espionage. After gathering intelligence for the Girondists for a while in France, it seemed that Britain was getting defensive. Remi was sent across the Channel to make sure that no British interference was on the horizon and to look for a possible opening, should France choose to invade. He lived an unobtrusive life in London for about a year, pretending to be an innocent emigre looking for work as a valet again in England. However, eventually he was discovered and executed.
