He'd picked up the class listing at the Community College by pure chance, but the contents were facinating. There were more than a few things that he would like to have taken had he tie time... or the money. He'd have to wait on a scholarship for the better part of it though.
One thing though, caught his eye above the others. Turns of events of late had more than brought up the uncomfortable need of hospital trips, depending on a handful of people with basic first aid knowledge to do the best they could to reduce the number of them that would have to make trips to the hospital blaming 'gangs' who 'dressed as monsters' aka yoma and or senshi...for their injuries.
EMT training - Basic.

The more the merrier right?... Any help that they could get would be one more pair of hands that could quite possibly save a life, and more than that... it was something that would get a certain someone, out and about. He thought that she might rather appreciate that, and that alone was worth a teleport.

He headed out, locking the room behind him till he was a safe enough distance from the school before he teleported, on his way to see a surprisingly old friend.

Alkaid too was on her way out, shutting the door to her temporary room behind her. Where she was going she couldn't really say, or even decide for that matter, she had just been stuffed up in the room so long that getting out and getting somewhere was the only option before she went crazy and lost what little mind there was left.

She was walking down the hallway, her head in the clouds, and her mind trying to retrace the few steps she had taken recently to try and get back to where she'd been in the city. Then, all of a sudden, there was a dull pop a mere foot from her and she reacted without a second's thought. A rather unlady-like screech ripped from her lips and she instantly clamped both hands down over her mouth as if she were afraid the queen herself would appear to chastise her.

"You scared me to death," she whispered harshly at Zink, as if the whisper would make up for the scream that had echoed down the hallway. Still, she didn't seem mad, just panicked by his appearance. She drew a deep breath and straightened herself back up, trying her best to look composed. Then she offered him a very weak, hesitant smile and crossed her arms behind her back. "Sorry, you just surprised me is all.'"

He stood there for a moment looking shocked, blinking away his surprise/ "Sorry...I..." he cleared his throat uncomfortable. "er..."
"I stopped in to bring you something actually." He said flushing over the top of his mask. He offered her the paper and glanced over his shoulder as though he too expected to be dropped in on at any moment. "Sorry...it's... not like theirs a front door we can just walk into." He added trying not to feel quite as embarrassed as he currently did.

"I was interested in taking it myself...but...I also lack any other training on that front, but...you took the initiative when we returned from the first battle, you...seemed to show an aptitude for it... and I thought you might like the out."

She sighed, long and frustrated, as she saw the guilt flash over what little she could see of her face. She hadn't meant to make him feel bad, she had just been surprised and reacted badly.

"No, don't apologize, I know that," she shook her head and waved a hand in his direction as if to brush away his words. "I'm just not used to that yet. Who knows if I ever will be." At the rate it was going, it certainly didn't seem that way.

Her eyes fell to the paper he held out to her then and all thoughts of teleportation and surprise vanished. She took it and read over the offer, the time, everything. Her face seemed to lighten as she did though and her mouth turned up at one corner as a hint of her excitement. Once she finally looked back at him over the top of the document, she seemed a lot more relaxed and now definitely pleased.

"This is a wonderful idea." She'd felt as if her knowledge had been spread thin at the end of the last battle and though she'd picked up a few more medical books at the Destiny City library, there was nothing better than actual training. This class would give her the ability to treat some of the wounds that couldn't be taken to the hospital - like anything Tanzanite might ever suffer. "I have a feeling the Negaverse has a high demand for this kind of thing, if I can help by doing this.." She trailed off then and simply smiled, dropping the hand holding the paper to her side.

"Thank you, Zink."

He pulled down the tight fabric mask so he could offer her a smile. "Not at all, with all the reading you've been doing, and your lack of squeamishness at what you already saw, you were the first person I thought of!"
He paused and looked thoughtful.
"Would you... you already know some of this..." he waved his hand at the paper thoughtful but hesitant.
"...is... is there anything you could teach me?" He asked arching his eyebrows in a classic plaintive look. "And... that said would you...consider attending a team training of mine. I'd like to try and teach them with...real sharp objects but I think medical back up would be a good idea, you're of course welcome to participate!"

The more Zink spoke, the brighter Alkaid's smile became. Of course she would help, that was all Alkaid really wanted to do - help and prove she was useful. She was more pleased at the request than anyone was likely to understand and for a few moments she just smiled at him pleasantly as he got it all out.

"Of course, of course," she agreed, clapping her hands together in excitement as best she could while still holding onto the paper. "I don't know how much I have to teach right now, but I'd certainly be willing to pass on whatever I learn." She glanced down the hallway towards the direction she knew the medical supply room to be. Would she get in trouble for borrowing just a little to teach Zink? He was a higher-ranking soldier, maybe that would be alright. "I just need a few supplies for demonstration, that's all." It sounded like a request for permission, as pleasant as it was.

"And of course, I wouldn't mind attending training, especially if you think some of them might require medical attention." She laughed very softly at the idea, little more than a smile, but it was clear the idea was a little amusing. Training was just taken so seriously here that even failing that could be dangerous - nothing at all like the training she had received as a Senshi.

"If you would like...since you haven't been part of the initial trainings we can do some one on one work so you know what to expect." He offered suddenly, he wasn't sure how often she got out or if people expected her to use mostly her attacks and whatever muscle memory she had of her past life/s.
He nodded though at mention of supplies then paused. "If you want...we'll pick up a first aid kit of your own, I think it's mentioned in class supplies and then you can familiarize yourself with its contents well ahead of time, that should give you a leg up on the class and I will learn more of what you know already?" He offered it up as a question but he looked satisfied with the solution.

Alkaid paused to think over his offer, chewing at her bottom lip as she considered it. "I suppose a little more training never hurts. I remember some from Castor," not to mention her fair share of kickboxing knowledge that she had no idea where it was from. "Besides, that was all developed to fight the negaverse, maybe I'd benefit from learning how to fight Senshi specifically." She had meant to ask Tanzanite but they had other matters to attend to every time she was summoned by the General.

"That would actually be pretty brilliant, then I can use it for both classes and, well, practical uses." She glanced down once more at the paper before she folded it in half, then over again and clenched it in her hand. "We can go pick that up and I can give you a lesson in what I know?"

He nodded in agarement, eager to learn something new and practical, as well as to learn something that didn't involve new injury to himself, at least not currently.. then again for all he knew she was lethal with a thermometer.

"For senshi...something to keep in mind is that many of their attacks are very directed, or at least a cone effect. dodging is I think an important skill when dealing with them... or at least a shield. What about yours? He queried, he wasn't sure how her own attack worked but knowing would help both of them, perhaps he could understand more of WHY Senshi attacks worked, strange things that they were...
PostPosted: Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:52 pm

"That makes sense," she murmured, silently recalling all of the attacks she had been witness to. "Most of what I've seen have been direct, though at least one seems nearly impossible to dodge." She knew first hand how dangerous Saiph's attack could be and nearly impossible to avoid due to its speed and lack of control. Even the thought of actually being hit by that made her shiver.

"Mine?" She smiled at the question, but not because his asking had flattered her. Her attack, though more useful now, was completely support. "It's like a will-o-wisp, essentially. I have a glowing orb that attracts the attention of those around me and it just.. entrances them to the point that they aren't aware of anything but the light." She shrugged her shoulders a little then, as if playing down it's importance. "There are some drawbacks to it."

"Facinating..." He said and sounded earnest in his opinion. "That...could be quite useful if we could work around said drawbacks. One knuckle rested against his chin, thoughtful as he imagined distracted senshi being taken out once and for all. The drawbacks had to be one heck of a twist though... nothing could be that simple he knew it too well.

"Is it... strange to be able to do such things?" His head tilted and his eyebrows lifted, how must it feel. Perhaps it was like asking superman how it felt to fly...but he asked all the same. "Is it just...instinct?"

"You might want to put a good tint on your goggles," she reached out and gave the goggles hanging loosely around his neck a little tug, half-smiling at her own joke.

"Hmm," it was the sound of contemplation. She leaned back against the dark stone wall behind her and brought her arms up to cross over her chest as she did so. "It must be, though that's an odd way to think about it. No one ever taught me my powers, I just knew how to handle them." She shrugged then and looked back at him from where she had been staring at a none-too-interesting part of the ceiling. "I didn't know the words to say the first time, but I knew what to do once I did. It just requires.. concentration."

"What about you, then?" She nodded her head at the large coat that she knew contained tiny 'weapons' of some sort. "Does the Negaverse automatically give you an ability to fight and know how to use the weapons you summon?" She was curious how a teenage army was so readily able to battle an invading magical aliens.

He chuckled and shook his head. "No...no we're just...humans like that. I had to learn how to better aim my Sling shot, one lesson was reminder enough to check the wind before I fired a smoke anything, I helped Wolframite a little after he lost his eye because of his depth perception changes... but theirs a senshi out there who acts like Dare Devil, you can tell she can't -see- but all the same she can... we just...train very hard, it's a do or die kind of learning curve I suppose you could say. But given what we fight for...it doesn't surprise me that we do as well as we do. Look how many Senshi there are out there proclaiming that they fight for good and justice, and how many of them are willing to kill us just because we don't want them ruling OUR world... their willing to sacrifice US but unwilling to say that anything else might need to be sacrificed in turn."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 21, 2011 12:29 pm

Alkaid's brows rose a little in surprise as she talked about Wolframite losing an eye in battle and the blind senshi. She vaguely remembered the other Captain but she had no idea of the circumstances surrounding his eyes and she's absolutely never heard about the blind senshi. Things just continued to amaze her day after day.

"The Senshi have an odd view of the world," she said finally, staring at Zink from where she was leaned back against the wall. "Their idea of good and justice is a little warped. If they'd just let the Negaverse be and go back where they belong there wouldn't be anything here for them to fight for." She sighed and shook her head then apparently frustrated with her inability to educate the false heroes.

"So we'll just keep fighting this war until we can get through their brainwashing." or kill them all, she added silently, reluctantly.

"I am certain, they must think our own view very odd... but from people whom have destroyed their own home worlds... I think they will not be content until they have destroyed ours to be honest." He sighed and shook his head.
He glanced at her, meeting her eyes with his own before he spoke again. "Any time we reach one of you, as terrible a price as we all pay, it's a victory, it means that there is hope...as terrible a word as that is."
