The Blind Spot
This Guild is all about visions of zOMG!'s future - but this thread has nothing to do with that. sweatdrop
Whatever off-topic chatter, banter, or similar discourse you may be interested in, feel free to leave it here. Make sure you stay within ToS, but beside that, the rules are "no rules"...

I just wanted to welcome everyone, personally, real quick; welcome, each of you! 3nodding
That, and I wanted at least one post in this Guild that wasn't purple...

Off topic chatter? Hmm...
Maybe in an alternate universe, there is a guild named s!magine, dedicated to ideas about the future of the game sMOG! , which despite its name and the cheesiness of this alternate universe, is nothing like zOMG! Instead, it's a card based wargame focused on dirty business techniques.
Is that off topic enough to inaugurate the topic?

Ah, hi! Might as well post here, don't want eveyone to shy away from start, right? Let me talk about the guild for a bit anyways Red. We need stuff in here! You made something dangerous. You made a guild with an objective, which, rather than a random silly one, needs stuff to happen or it dies down fast. Hey, even operation jellyfish had it dead moments, didn't it?. Okay so, we're to "improve zOMG!", right? Well, allow me to quote myself. Quote: if it's to survive, it'll need stuff to be done on it, and it needs people to be reminded to check it. But I can't think a lot of stuff to do right off. I wouldn't mind reviewing lost past suggestions or compiling removed features from zOMG! and questioning their re-implementation. And do the opposite as well which is take new stuff from the guild and put it out there. Any other ideas? Anything that rubs you in the wrong way is a good place to start. For example, I wouldn't mind overhauling those "Guides and Resources". It's getting outdated. Thread inside of it are closed and moved, while others are just pointless right now (vivox?) It's easier if we do it and then ask a moderator to change it than it is to expect a mod to do all the work for himself.

Be careful - you take one more step off-topic, and you're liable to overflow your relevance variable and wind up being near-infinitely on-topic; and I'd hate to see spam in the thread, so soon. xp
That said, though, consider it christened... 3nodding

Atrash the Squidmonger Instead, it's a card based wargame focused on dirty business techniques. Fund it. Seems like a game where you have to formulate devious against other people tactics to win. I'd love that. I wonder how that Indie game - about You shooting another Player who must act like a NPC and do certain tasks, while hiding among a bunch of NPC's - is coming along. If you know what game I'm talking about, please tell me because I lost the link and forgot its name crying

It's easier if we do it and then ask a moderator to change it than it is to expect a mod to do all the work for himself. I do understand the need for more content - I just haven't gotten around to all of it, yet. There are at least a handful of little thread-tangents that I can think of already that are worth initiating a thread for, here, but I was hoping to get things initiated before I started devoting myself to replanting them. I'm happy to see that we're all interested in business here, though. 3nodding
The Guides and Resources overhaul sounds like a good idea - and it does sound like it'd be a lot easier to achieve if we did it ourselves. I may grab a copy of that and drop it into the Miscellaneous Forum to toy around with - and, as always, anyone with the ability is free to modify it at-will...
EDIT: Done. It's got a copy of the current version, then the working revision - I went ahead and removed the Vivox Guide (though I feel bad just tossing it out - they don't need to include defunct guides, do they?) and replaced Val's Rings and G'hi Guide with the new version. I'll keep checking back to see if I think of anything else, but feel free to change things yourself, as well... 3nodding

8 members uh?
So Red, since you gave some of us crew privileges, I was wondering, are we free to bring more people in here as well? I don't mean *everyone* otherwise this place would just be the z!F, even if ideally, that would still not be all that bad given this would still work as a shelf of ideas. But having this devoid of people isn't making any favors either in the long term.
I think I'm not too far off in assuming no one wants some strict entry requirements, much less having to report everyone to bring in, but still, I find it polite to put it out there first, before doing anything I shouldn't.

Growing rapidly, huh? xp
If you've got Crew privileges, that means that I invited you here, myself. If I inivted you here myself, that means that - generally speaking, at least - I think I can trust your judgment. Feel free to advertise and invite as much as you want - I think you understand what it is we're trying to do here. We will need more people, eventually, and I admit that my own friendslist is... Meager. sweatdrop
But, yes - you've got free reign to invite whoever you think would stand to contribute something... 3nodding

Hey, as far as it goes, the only people not invited from the first batch got in on their own trough join requests. At the very least, they were paying attention. I know I didn't advertise this in any way.
I didn't mean to grow fast. This isn't supposed to be an active guild, but a functional one, right? I just don't want the place deserted either.
I was hoping, at the very least, to get each thread getting at least 3 initial replies to kick them off in some way, and the distribution right now isn't very happy. That would mean 50% input from the population, a majority, and I know that majorities tend to be silent, not vocal. And not everyone reacts actively to everything. Some will likely ignore plot speculation, or new area suggestions, while others will be bold enough to spend two hours on these.
There's time. At least we now know we can do the same you did and scope threads every once in a while.
