~I have a bit of a problem now actually, this guild states that I am not allowed to role play Canon characters, I do not plan on changing my RP character, I'd like to keep Unohana.~

Or we could simply have a RPC named Unohana Retsu.
I mean, if her RPC was strictly canon then she should be a Captain by now. As it stands it's merely a case of coincidence that her RPC was named as such, wouldn't you think so?
It's like creating a RPC named Ichigo Kurosaki, who's an arrancar instead of a Vizard. The name's the same, but the story is different.

I take it you did no research before replying?
The RPC's name is Unohana Retsu, and the Zanpakuto's name is Minazuki. The personality is pretty much the same too, so all that's different is rank, relationships, and some of the Zan's abilities since her Bankai is unknown at the moment. So, it's no coincidence.

Well, seeing as she does have different powers, I don't really think it would be that big of a deal would it? I mean, I could see if someone was role playing as a character that was fully developed, and was out right ripping their character off, but Unohana in the storyline is massively undeveloped, really nothing much is known about her, so, it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

If she changes a bit of information, like Her Zan name, then that should be fine, she could even change just her Character name, but still maybe be a relative of a that particular family name, no need to change anything else really, you could be Unohana's mother or something.

I don't want to sound like a Nazi, but I've had to ask others to drop the name Kuchiki from their RPCs and such. It's not that I like it, it's just that I've seen some people get hooked on names and decide their RPC is 10x better because his/her last name is Kuchiki when in reality the only thing saving their a** is the fact that I can't godmod.
And changing the names won't work either, because one of the items on the list of banned powers is Bleach-specific abilities, where Zangetsu is given as an example which means Minazuki would be too, different name or not. I'm not trying to be a b***h, it's just... rules are rules. ._.

Well, technically we don't know any of Minazuki's powers, therefore, changing the Zan name with the current abilities has no resemblance to Unohana's sword, save changing the part about it swallowing people perhaps, that is the closes resemblance to Unohana's sword.

~There will be certain elements of her abilities that I'll be changing. Also, if it is not a stated rule, I'd like to keep the last name of my character, I'd personally don't Role Play like that, not that me saying that can simply whisk the thought away, but if I'm found to be behaving like that we can address the matter then.~
