It was a pleasant evening. Not a cloud in the sky. The waters of the small lake before Kunar were crystal clear. ...And quite reflective.

Kunar sat at the water's edge, humming a tune to himself as he fixed up his mane. Usually, a word like "beautiful" or even "pretty" wasn't meant for use with the male gender. One normally associated words like "handsome" or just "hot" when it came to males. But not this lion. This lion was pretty. One would have to look closely as he could easily be mistaken for a female. And he liked it that way.

Kunar was far from vain, though. And far from prissy. Kunar looked like a femme and fought like a male. Most especially when defending his brother. For now, the gutsy male was making ready to move on. He'd gone out far to hunt and had ended up spending the day beneath the earth somewhat farther than he would have liked into unknown territory.

Was he worried? Nope. Not for himself, at least.

The small incident that took place earlier that day and Nori's words still weighed heavily on his mind no matter how much he wished to deny it. He was happy that the little one was not in the cave when he returned because seeing him in such a rage was something he tried to spare the child from. Just about every inch of his cave had been covered in claw marks when he was done with his tantrum. For the remainder of the day in fact, he sat there in complete silence, seething as he used to but when the sun had set he decided to roam the lands he had claimed for himself.

While he was not hungry, his princess most likely would be when she returned from her exploring, so he would use that as an excuse to mentally and physically ******** with with his prey. Fifteen minutes into his stalking the lands, a breeze brought along an unwanted scent to his attention and his lust for blood came calling immediately. Had that b*****d dare come to his lands after he promised Nori that he would leave him be? A dangerous growl escaped the confines of his throat and with the intent to kill he followed his nose but what he saw made him pause.

It was not Nick that was in his sights, instead it was someone else. Their spawn. His rage and bloodlust continued to rise and once again he continued his stride, his growls now present and his jaws slightly ajar ready to spray the abomination down with acid.

Waves of hate. At first diminished, then growing. Whoever they came from was coming closer. Closer. Close enough to bash at his psyche. A scent now. Acrid, musky, dark. Male. Angry. The waves paused a moment. Confusion. Then rage. Pure rage. Kunar didn't need to turn around to know the male was there. Ready to attack.

Whoever he thought he was, he didn't know what he was dealing with.

"You know. You're being a real scumbag. Attacking an innocent from behind when they have done absolutely nothing wrong." He didn't even turn around. Just raised his head and tilted an ear towards him. His voice was low, musical, but husky in tone. One would hear this voice and think of silk sheets and candlelight.

Yaru, a young male solar lion, muscular and light on his feet, looked to be the prime of his life. He was a paradox - sleek and agile, with a husky voice that made lionesses swoon to hear him (when he finally spoke, that was), the scent of power was strong on him but he was timid and shy. He knew he came from a very powerful family - one that was embraced by the earth itself - but it was that very power that scared the hell out of him. Much like Nori, he wasn't afraid to be powerful, but that his power would elude him when he needed it most.

Unlike Kunar, he was a bit worried on this beautiful night. His agitation had been growing for quite some time now, though he'd refused to tell his brother what was wrong. In fact, he wasn't entirely sure himself....something just felt off. Maybe it had to do with the warnings their fathers had passed on about Nori's old master? Who knew... All he knew for sure was he'd stay well clear of the guy, and hoped never to meet him in person.

While his brother was off preening for his hunt, Yaru had loped away to find a private space not too far away and pulled out his little bag of rune stones that Nori had taught him to carve as a cub. They were rough works obviously made by unskilled hands, and he should probably make a new set, but he was still very proud of what he'd accomplished all by himself. That, and he'd received high praise from his father that he cherished close to his heart.

Closing his eyes to clear his mind, he gently tossed the stones out in front of him, intending to see what might he gain from it's perspective when he too felt the waves of hate and aggression that grew until he had his head covered by his paws trying to block it out. Reaching out mentally along the family path, he touched his brother's mind to seek reassurance, almost hating himself for feeling like a scared little cub, but he had very little bravery. He wasn't a coward, either, but he'd never been pushed to the point where it came out. This is when he wished he felt no emotion, then maybe he wouldn't act like such a child anymore. In some ways, he longed for that time to come...

Kunar...be careful...

Kunar's words meant nothing, in fact they fell upon deaf ears. Why should Razier care of his innocents? He had slaughter countless villages including their women and children without so much as a backward glance so why should he care now? This was what he wanted...no needed again for normality to fall back into place with him. He needed the kill, the bloodshed and the screams.

His steady pace and quickened in it's pace but he moved around so that he may see the face of his prey. Him doing this had nothing to do with what had been said to him about attacking an innocent from behind. He simply wanted to see Kunars face so that he could see his eyes shine with that fading light that often came before ones death. When Razier saw the face of his prey he went still as if a force was keeping him to that spot.

There he stare at the face of Nori. Of course, he knew that the lion before him was not his lost love but that's all he could see. This male looked much like him and no matter how hard he fought against himself, no matter how much he mentally screamed at himself to attack the male, he simply couldn't. He wanted to rip the male before him to shreds but he just couldn't move any closer to him and so with a frustrated and somewhat pained roar, he lashed out at everything else that was around.

A local rock was maimed by his claws. A local tree and the family of birds that were nesting in it's branches were melted away when a stream of his acid breath was sent its way. The way his body continued to lash out made him appear completely insane and incapable of sensible thought but that was the least of his worries. Why could he not attack!? Why did Nori's face plague him? Was he projecting his image to keep his spawn safe? Damn it! Damn it all!

:: Do not worry Yaru. I've got this. But just in case, stay away from the area, k?::

Kunar was ready for him. Ready to slip away as intangible mist the moment a claw came near. But his attacker stopped. Stopped before he could do much more than raise his paw. And stared. Kunar stared back at him. This guy was big. Sure he'd had no idea what he would be expecting this stranger to look like. But he wasn't expecting the draconic visage before him now.

He sensed confusion, and.... sorrow. Terrible sorrow. Enough to wrench at one's heart. He watched him as the stranger tore the immediate area apart.

Silent as a shadow, he slipped away as mist and reformed before him, looking up at him. "I feel your pain. It comes from looking upon me. What could possibly have happened to one such as you to make your soul cry out in so much pain? Speak to me stranger, won't you please?"

There was power behind his voice. A compulsion to do as he bade. His blue eyes almost glowed as he addressed him. "Tell me your sorrows." He stepped closer, incredibly confident in himself.

His thrashing had continued, even after Kunar reappeared before him. However, just as the blade end of Razier tail came slicing through the air and threatened to strike Kunars face it came to an abrupt halt mere inches from Kunars face. No, he could not harm that beautiful face. He couldn't allow a pain expression to taint it. Carefully he moved his tail away and fell to stare again. Kunar's voice and the glow in his eyes drew forth a single word from Raziers lips and the answer he needed.

"Nori...my treasure...."

To combat the trance that the dragon fell for, the mask he wore that resembled a purple eye began to glow and then Razier should his head to clear his thoughts. Heh, so that's what people felt when they fell into a trance from his gaze. That's what Nori felt when he had first met him. They felt security, so much so they opened themselves to any and gave up precious information so freely without thought. He had to find some way to remove this accursed heart of his. Only then would he be free of these useless and troublesome emotions.

"Clever move charmer..."

His voice was deep, smooth and rich. Enough to seduce any female or male that did hear it even if that was not his goal but his tone was empty of any emotion as if he'd somehow managed to bottle them up and discard them, though that wasn't the case. He wanted to move away, to get the male from his sights but something told him that this would not be such an easy task when it came to the lion before him. He could tell that while he looked so much like Nori, he was more demanding.
So he would change the subject.

"Why have you come onto my lands?"
PostPosted: Fri Feb 11, 2011 7:49 pm

Kunar's eyes widened at the mention of his birth father. So this was the former master. He could understand his sorrow. After all, he could freely access his father's memories for the time he was with this male. As Razier shook himself out of the compulsion he sighed and gave him a smirk.

"Clever indeed. I needed answers. And you don't look like the type to give them freely." He liked this male's voice. Wished to hear it with emotion. Sorrow. Fury. Passion. Desire. Something! With a smirk he turned his back to him and drew his tailfeathers over one foreleg. "ARE these your lands? I was unaware... I came to hunt, of course. And for the record, though I'm sure you must know by now, I am one of Nori's sons." He looked back at him over his shoulder. "Kunar, is my name."

"You would be correct in that assumption."

Still nothing, though perhaps now it was because he was emotionally drained for today. If he could even become enraged from this point on would be a miracle in itself. He continued to watch Kunar and nearly quirked a brow at his boldness. Had things been different, he would have been the sire of Nori's children. If things had been different, Nori's brood would have the privilege to see the face of the dragon lord who had learned to love. But things were not different and he was just going to have to deal with it.

"I see...well like Nori you have a pardon. You may walk my lands and use them for it's bounty as often you like but do well to avoid the caves and the locations filled with flora. Those are restricted."

His tone left no room for argument. He was to be obeyed, plain and simple.

"Yes, I am fully aware of what you are to Nori. Kunar..........I will remember that young charmer..."

Without a second thought he moved passed Kunar to continue his previous task. Hunting but little did he know, he was headed in Yaru's direction. If Kunar decided to join him then so be it.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 11, 2011 8:17 pm

And of course he'd join him. To start with, he was much too intrigued to just let this male escape his attention. This was a male who almost became their birth father's mate. Could have been their sire. And while they could easily see Nori's memories of him, Kunar was terribly curious as to his side of things. And besides... Razier was headed straight in Yaru's direction. He needed to make sure Yaru was safe. That he would treat Yaru as he treated him.

Hence he cheerily marched on by his side, giving him a sideways glance. "So... what happened to you while you and my birth father were separated. It was quite some time..." As he spoke he also reached out to Yaru through the family path.

:: Brother dearest, get ready. He's headed in your direction. I won't let him hurt you, of course. But it wouldn't hurt to be ready for him. ::

You've got to be kidding me... Yaru whimpered, frightened enough by what he'd felt from this male. He'd been listening in on the encounter through his connection with Kunar and could feel the reasurrance from his brother's words give him the courage to finally move, though why the hell Kuni was curious about a guy who'd nearly killed one father he couldn't quite fathom. In fact the idea that this guy almost was his father made him shiver. He much prefered how things had turned out.

Carefully, he gathered up the rune stones into a pile, and swept them into his little pouch. He took a deep breath before sitting up, giving both his brother and the powerful male a view of his deep purple mane as he tucked the pouch away and turned to face them.

It took all of his will (and a good deal of reassurance from his brother) to keep his calm as he faced what looked to him to be a nightmare. How can you be so sure you can handle this guy, brother....?
PostPosted: Fri Feb 11, 2011 9:01 pm

"It was an ambush filled with betrayal..."

That was all he was going to say for now. While Kunar looked like his birth father, he was still the spawn of his enemy and so he would not have the privilege of being given the information he wanted so freely. He would not speak of his time of confinement. He would not speak of his time sealed away in a whirlwind of darkness and icy winds that tore at his flesh. He would not speak of his power being drained from him nor would he speak of how he'd come so close to death after nearly being bled dry. Even Razier was unable to explain how he was able to live, reclaim the power lost and escape his prison.

From behind his mask, jade orbs scanned the lands for suitable prey and all the while he found nothing...that is until Yaru sat up and looked their way. What Razier saw was Nick and it set him off. But this male felt far too different to be Nick, though he could really care less. He gave his word to keep his distance from Nick....not his look alike. Like a bottle rocket he was off charging right for him. His gauntlet covered paws glistening in the moons light. His head was slightly lowered and those horns of his were bared.

::Because no one hurts my brother.::

"Oh? Sounds horrid. Hope the bastards died in a gutter." He nodded sagely.

Everything was fine... until Yaru came into view. The moment Razier tensed at the sight of his brother he drew up his power. He was ready when the huge male charged. He bolted with his preternatural speed, standing before Yaru with his fangs bared and fur standing on edge. His eyes were glowing red with power, the earth shook beneath them and the clouds turned dark up above, lightning striking all around them. Animals in the area all went silent as they sensed the Carpathian's presence.

"Back. Off. Scumbag. No one. Hurts. My. Brother." He growled.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 11, 2011 9:40 pm

Yaru froze, eyes wide and unable to think or move, the blast of pure rage and perhaps dark glee mixed in blanketing his senses to the point he couldn't think. By the time he got his senses back, he would of been gored if it hadn't been for Kunar being so quick and fearless. Yes, he looked more like Nick, but he had much of Nori about him as well in his personality even as he took a subservient posture behind his brother as he awaited what fate would bring, muscles tensed.

While Razier could not bring himself to hurt Kunar because of his resemblance to Nori, that wouldn't stop him from being rough with the male. He was still spawn of the enemy. With Kunar in the way, that ended his attempt at goring. However Razier would not let up on his attack. Turning his head to the side a bit, the horns missed Kunar completely with a whip of his strong neck, he rammed the side of his head towards Kunar to knock him out of his way. Immediately he spun around, whipping his thick scaled tail Yaru's way.
